JFK Airport Parking: $45 Long-Term Lot, Off-Site Lots Compared

JFK's Long-Term Parking Lot charges $45 a day at the gate, or from $35 a day prebooked 3 hours ahead, and the terminal garages charge $70 to $82 a day. The cheapest live off-site total on ParkingAccess for 7 nights (November 6 to November 13, 2026) was $109.06 all-in at PARK AC, rated Poor on 638 reviews; the cheapest with nothing due on arrival was Hampton Inn at $157.97. Terminal 4 uses the Blue Lot, Terminal 5 the Yellow Lot, Terminals 1, 7 and 8 the Red Lot; the Long-Term Lot is a free AirTrain ride away.

What the airport charges at its own lots, and how to reserve

Every official lot is priced by the half hour up to a daily maximum: $45 at the Long-Term Parking Lot, $70 at the Terminal 8 Red Lot, $75 at the Terminal 5 Yellow Lot and $82 at the Terminal 4 Blue Lot on October 22, 2026. Prebooking at parking.jfkairport.com at least 3 hours ahead lowers each rate and guarantees a space.

In the terminal garages the first half hour is $6 and each extra half hour $12 after three hours, billed in 30-minute increments. The Terminal 1 Green and Terminal 7 Orange lots are closed, and Blue Lot space is reduced during construction. The Port Authority's July 24 to 30 advisory said the Terminal 4 surface lot was closed until further notice, and its September 25 to October 1 advisory warns that travelers who do not prebook pay a peak-period drive-up surcharge, with no amount printed. The parking page now says Terminal 5 customers enter the garage by a new entry ramp. The Port Authority's JFK Schedule of Charges, revised January 1, 2026, and the newest we found as of October 22, disagrees with the website: Lot 9 (the Long-Term Lot) at $49 for the first 24 hours and $24.50 per additional 12 hours, the Blue Lot at $80 a day, the Red Lot at $4 and $8 per half hour (the website shows $6 and $12 for all three garages); Yellow at $75 and Red at $70 match. The website prints no effective date, so this page uses its live figures. Cards, E-ZPass and contactless wallets are accepted; stays over 30 days must be registered with ABM Parking.

Reservations: the JFK prebooked parking site sells the Blue, Yellow, Red and Long-Term lots; the Federal Circle Station Lot is reservation only. Book at least 3 hours ahead, up to 365 days out, for one hour to 30 days. Its prebooking FAQ page gives a full refund if you cancel an hour before entry, no fee to amend, no refund for a shorter stay, and an overstay fee beyond two hours either side of the booked times. The booking site still lists an Orange lot the parking page calls closed.

Which lot serves which terminal, and how you reach the gate

Terminal 4, 5 and 8 flyers walk from the Blue, Yellow and Red garages beside their terminals. Terminal 1 and 7 flyers park in the Red Lot and ride the free AirTrain. The Long-Term Lot is a free AirTrain ride of about 8 minutes from the Lefferts Boulevard station.

The JFK terminals overview lists Delta at Terminal 4, JetBlue at Terminal 5 and American Airlines at Terminal 8, among others; check your airline before you pick a garage. The JFK AirTrain page says trains run every 5 to 15 minutes and the fare is collected only at the Jamaica and Howard Beach stations.

For 7 nights, the Long-Term Parking Lot costs $315 drive-up or $245 prebooked, and a terminal garage $490 to $574. The eight off-site lots ParkingAccess sells were quoted between $109.06 and $253.05 all-in for November 6 to November 13, five of them collecting most of that at the lot.

PARK AC is rated Poor and ARB Parking Average, and they are the two lowest totals. "Not listed" means the search results show no shuttle frequency, not that there is no shuttle; ask the lot. Bolt Parking counts these dates as 8 days; Safe Park's shuttle is listed hourly. On their own sites, Purchase Park 2 Fly's JFK page gives 124-10 S Conduit Ave, an on-demand shuttle running 24/7 and a lot open 24 hours, and Hilton's Hampton Inn NY-JFK location page lists a complimentary 24/7 shuttle you call the hotel to arrange, no EV charging, and valet parking at $50.00, the hotel's own rate rather than the $15.99 a day ParkingAccess reservation. Neither publishes a party-size limit or vehicle rules. Hilton's DoubleTree pages could not be fetched, so DoubleTree's shuttle hours and rules are not verified here. Hilton and The Parking Spot measure the Hampton Inn and Safe Park at a quarter mile and 1.0 mile; ParkingAccess lists 1.7 and 1.6.

What other booking sites listed on September 15 for October 2 to 9

On September 15, SpotHero's JFK page listed lots from $12.99 to $37.85 a day and ParkWhiz quoted six lots between $104.86 and $314.45 all fees included for October 2 to 9. These were not re-checked on October 22.

On SpotHero's JFK page, opened with the October 2 to 9 dates, 1047 Beach 21st St. in Far Rockaway (covered self park) showed from $12.99 a day, Fairfield Inn New York JFK Airport at 156-08 Rockaway Blvd from $24.97 and Safe Park Parking JFK at 151-67 North Conduit Avenue from $37.85, with no distances and a stated range of $8 to $36 a day. On ParkWhiz's JFK listings for October 2 to 9, 2026, the Rockaway DMV Lot at 168-35 Rockaway Blvd. was $104.86 for the week, ARB Parking Lot at 128-20 152nd Ave. $119.46 and TWA Hotel at Terminal 5 $314.45, with no distances. The Parking Spot's New York JFK page lists Safe Park JFK and JFK Long Term Parking at 12202 South Conduit Ave as uncovered valet partner lots 1.0 mile from the airport.

Getting there: roads, waiting lots, ride apps and transit

JFK sits off the Van Wyck Expressway and the Belt Parkway. Nobody may wait at a terminal curb, so drivers picking someone up use the free wait lot at the Lefferts Boulevard AirTrain station or the free Cell Phone Lot, and anyone leaving by train pays the $8.75 AirTrain fare at Jamaica or Howard Beach plus $3.00 for the subway or $5.25 to $7.25 for an LIRR CityTicket.

The airport publishes no directions page; its transportation overview links to Google Maps, calls taxi fares regulated flat rates without printing them, and warns of construction delays. The pick-up and drop-off page says an unattended car at a curb is towed, the JFK ride share page covers pickups, and hotel shuttles use the Federal Circle AirTrain station. The MTA's fares and tolls page confirms the $3 subway fare.

Accessible parking, EV charging and tall vehicles

Every official lot has accessible spaces, and a car with a valid state-issued ADA plate, placard or permit pays no more than $35 a day through the ticket lane. Free Level 2 charging sits in the Terminal 5 Yellow Lot. Anything over 6 feet 4 inches cannot use the Terminal 4 garage; the Long-Term Lot takes up to 11 feet 6 inches.

The discount is applied at the exit after the attendant checks the tag. It applies only after charges pass $35 a day, cannot be combined with prebooking or E-ZPass, and is not offered at the Federal Circle Station Lot. Accessible spaces cannot be reserved. The airport lists free ChargePoint Level 2 chargers in the Terminal 5 Yellow Lot (you still pay to park) and paid Level 3 chargers in the West Cell Phone Lot (Revel and Evolve) and at the JFK Travel Plaza (Tesla). No length or width rules are published; neither Purchase Park 2 Fly nor Hampton Inn publishes vehicle-size rules, so call before arriving with a truck, van or trailer.
