What parking at the terminal costs, next to an off-site lot for the same week

For seven nights, October 2 to 9, 2026, the airport's own economy or long-term lot at five busy U.S. airports comes to $84 (Miami) to $245 (JFK prebooked) or $315 (JFK drive-up), and the terminal garage $168 (Orlando) to $315. An off-site lot booked on ParkingAccess for the same week, quoted on September 15, 2026, came to $53.27 (Fort Lauderdale) to $113.63 (JFK) all-in: taxes, lot fees and our $9.95 booking fee included, with a shuttle to the terminal. At Miami and Orlando the airport's economy lot is close to the off-site price; at Fort Lauderdale, JFK and Oakland the gap is $49.72 to $201.37.

Two things the table shows that most parking sites leave out. First, the airport's economy lot is sometimes the right answer: Miami's Park & Ride at $84 for the week is $9.77 more than the Holiday Inn, and you skip the shuttle wait. Second, the off-site saving grows with the airport's rates: at JFK the Long-Term Lot alone is $315 for the week if you drive up, $245 if you prebook on the airport's site, and $113.63 at A1 JFK Park. Every airport page on this site runs the same comparison with that airport's published rates and our live quotes, and the rate index for 34 U.S. airports lists each airport's own rate card with its 2026 changes.

How an off-site lot works: shuttle, keys, payment and cancellation

You pick a lot and dates, pay online, and get a confirmation with the lot's address and shuttle instructions. Every listing shows the operator's stated shuttle interval and transfer time, whether you keep your keys (self-park) or hand them to an attendant (valet), and whether the lot collects the whole amount online or a deposit online with the balance at the lot. The search results show both amounts. A reservation can be cancelled up to 1 hour before your drop-off time for a full refund, processed within 3 to 5 business days. The price you see is the lot's rate plus a $9.95 booking fee; your card is authorised at checkout and charged only after the lot confirms the space.

  1. Enter your departure airport, drop-off time (about two to three hours before your flight) and pick-up time (about an hour after you land), then compare rates.
  2. Sort by price, shuttle interval, distance or rating. Each card shows the total for your dates, taxes and fees included, and anything due at the lot.
  3. Pay securely. The confirmation email and your account hold the lot address, phone number and shuttle directions.
  4. At the lot, show the confirmation on your phone, park or hand over the keys, and ride the shuttle to your terminal.

Long-term parking for a week or more

The average reservation on ParkingAccess in the last 12 months ran 6.9 days at $9.19 a day before fees, across 2,881 bookings. Airports price long stays by the day with no weekly cap: Miami's economy lot is $12 a day, Orlando's economy lots $14, Oakland's $18, Fort Lauderdale's long-term garage $20 and JFK's Long-Term Lot $45 drive-up or $35 prebooked, so a two-week trip costs twice the seven-night figures above. Off-site lots price the same way, and hotel lots near the airport are usually the cheapest uncovered option because the parking is a sideline to the rooms.

Cheapest airport lot: how to find it without a coupon

Compare the airport's own economy lot with the cheapest uncovered self-park lot off-site for your exact dates, then check the shuttle interval before you book on price. Booking ahead matters more than any code: JFK's Long-Term Lot is $35 a day prebooked and $45 if you drive up, and off-site lots sell out on holiday weekends. ParkingAccess does not run coupon codes; the rate on the search card is the lot's rate plus the $9.95 booking fee, and the discount is the gap to the airport's price.

Hotel lots are the usual floor. Among the lots we sell most, the Homewood Suites at San Antonio averaged $5.01 a day over the last 12 months and the Holiday Inn at Portland $7.01, while valet lots at JFK and Detroit average $11 to $13 because someone parks the car for you and the land costs more. The quoted daily rate on a search card can be the prepaid portion only when a lot collects a balance on arrival, so compare the all-in total for your dates, not the per-day headline.

Questions travelers ask before booking

How can I get the cheapest airport lot?

Search your exact dates, compare the airport's economy lot with the cheapest uncovered self-park lot off-site, and book before the week of travel. Hotel lots are usually the lowest tier. Judge lots by the all-in total for your dates, since some quotes show only the prepaid part.

Where is the cheapest parking at the airport itself?

The economy or long-term lot, always the farthest from the terminal and served by the airport's own shuttle: $12 a day at Miami, $14 at Orlando, $18 at Oakland, $20 at Fort Lauderdale and $45 drive-up at JFK, where prebooking on the airport's site drops it to $35.

Is off-site airport parking safe?

The lots on this site are fenced commercial lots or hotel lots with staff on site. Each listing carries the reviews of people who parked there through ParkingAccess, and lots that stop accepting bookings are removed from the search.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Cancel up to 1 hour before your drop-off time for a full refund of what you paid online; refunds take 3 to 5 business days to appear. Cancellations after the drop-off time are not refunded.

Do I pay everything online?

Many lots collect the full amount online. Some collect a deposit online and the balance when you arrive; the search card and your confirmation show both amounts. The $9.95 booking fee is part of the online payment.

How early should I get to an off-site lot?

Add the shuttle interval and transfer time shown on the listing to the airport's own check-in advice, then add 15 minutes for the shuttle to load. For a lot with a shuttle every 15 minutes and a 10-minute ride, arriving 40 minutes before you would have parked at the terminal is enough.
