Airport parking rates: what 34 U.S. airports charge in 2026

Every figure below is the daily maximum or flat daily rate published on the airport authority's own website, read on September 17, 2026. Third-party parking sites were not used. Where an airport prices online reservations only after you enter dates, the prebook column says so. Last verified: September 17, 2026.

At the 34 airports below, the cheapest lot the airport runs itself costs between $10 a day (Houston Bush's ecopark, tax included) and $45 (JFK's Long-Term Lot, $35 if prebooked). Terminal and daily garages run from $16 (BWI's Daily Garage) to $89 (LaGuardia Terminal C). Valet, where it exists, runs $30 (Fort Lauderdale and Houston) to $75 (LAX). Seven airports raised rates in 2026: Charlotte (March 1), Austin (May 12), Las Vegas and Salt Lake City (July 1), Tampa (August 4) and Dallas Fort Worth (October 1), while Houston made its ecopark2 lot reservation-only on June 1. Portland, Seattle, LAX and BWI are still on 2022 to 2024 schedules.

Not listed above: Pittsburgh's rate card shows drive-up prices before its 11.5% tax; Houston, Tampa, Seattle, Oakland, O'Hare and Philadelphia's economy lot publish prices with tax included; Minneapolis publishes them without; Miami adds $0.35 per transaction in its economy lot; Detroit adds a 2.65% card processing fee everywhere.

What changed in 2026

Six airports raised drive-up rates in 2026. Charlotte moved every lot on March 1 (Long Term lots from $12 to $14, Daily Decks from $20 to $28, valet from $45 to $50). Austin's economy lot went from $12 to $14 on May 12. Las Vegas published a full new schedule on July 1, its first change since 2019, with economy at $14 and short-term at $38. Salt Lake City raised its garage by $5 to $45 and economy by $3 to $14 on July 1. Tampa added $4 to all three garages on August 4 ($22, $26 and $32). Dallas Fort Worth's new schedule takes effect October 1 and splits every rate by payment method: Terminal Parking goes from $32 to $37 with a TollTag or $40 by card, Express uncovered from $18 to $20 or $22, and valet from $45 to $55. Houston did not change prices but made ecopark2 reservation-only on June 1.

The 2025 changes still catch travelers out: Atlanta's May 1, 2025 increase was its first since 2017 (Economy $20, Daily $30, Hourly $50 on the first day then $75); O'Hare's February 1, 2025 rate sheet put every terminal daily product at $43 and the hourly garage at $79; Denver's May 14, 2025 schedule set the garages at $35 and Economy at $20; Oakland's July 1, 2025 schedule set Economy at $18 and Daily at $26. Guides written before those dates, including some of ours until this month, still show the old numbers.

At the other end, Portland (February 1, 2023), Seattle (June 1, 2023), LAX (November 14, 2022 for its main lots), BWI (July 1, 2024, its first increase since 2009), New Orleans (March 1, 2024) and LaGuardia (July 8, 2024) are running on schedules that predate 2025.

How to read an airport rate card

Daily maximum versus the hourly ladder

Most airports bill by the half hour or hour up to a daily maximum, and the maximum is what a multi-day stay costs per 24 hours. The ladders matter only for short visits: O'Hare's terminal garages run $3 for the first hour and reach $43 at 8 hours; Miami's garages charge $2 per 20 minutes and hit $25 after 4 hours; Fort Lauderdale's charge $2 per 20 minutes to a $20 maximum on long-term levels and $36 on short-term levels. A few products are flat: Atlanta's Economy is a "$20 daily flat rate", Detroit's Green Lot is $20 per 24 hours with no ladder, Las Vegas's valet is a flat $34.

Prebooking: real discounts at some airports, a fee at others

The Port Authority airports publish the clearest discounts: JFK's Long-Term Lot drops from $45 to $35, Newark's P6 Economy from $35 to $30 and its P4 garage from $60 to $40, LaGuardia's terminal lots from $75 to $50 and $89 to $60, all for booking at least 3 hours ahead. Pittsburgh cuts $12, $28 and $38 to $8, $18 and $28 for bookings seven days out. Boston sells a limited $29 Advance Parking Reservation against a $37 Economy Garage. LAX publishes "from" prices as low as $15 for a $35 Economy lot. Chicago goes the other way: reserving at O'Hare or Midway adds $10 per day to the drive-up rate, plus a $1.99 booking fee at Midway. Denver's only reservable on-airport product, Premium Reserve, is $45 plus a $5 fee, more than any drive-up lot. Charlotte now sells Long Term 1, the Daily Decks and the Express Deck online only.

Maximum stays and closures

Orlando's garages allow 45 days and its economy lots 90; Miami's valet allows 20 days; Tampa's garages 45; Charlotte's lots 30; Minneapolis's online bookings 45; Phoenix's online bookings 60; Dulles requires registration for stays over 45 days. Nashville's Terminal Lot A is closed for construction, Midway's Daily Lot is closed, Austin's two valet products and its overflow lot are listed as temporarily closed, and Houston's ecopark2 takes reservations only.

Where the airport's own lot is hard to beat

Below $15 a day, the airport usually wins on convenience. Baltimore's Long Term lot at $11 "all-inclusive", Miami's $12 Economy Park & Ride, New Orleans's $12 Economy, Houston's $10 ecopark, Pittsburgh's $8 prebooked Shuttle Lot, Orlando's $14 economy lots and Denver's $8 lot at 61st & Peña all sit close to what off-airport hotel lots charge. Above $30 a day, an off-airport lot with a shuttle usually saves real money: for seven nights, October 2 to 9, 2026, an off-airport lot booked on ParkingAccess was $53.27 all-in at Fort Lauderdale against $140 in the airport's long-term garage, $113.63 at JFK against $315 drive-up in the Long-Term Lot, and $76.28 at Oakland against $126 in its Economy Lot. How much does it cost to park at the airport per day?

At these 34 airports, the airport's cheapest lot runs from $10 a day (Houston Bush ecopark) to $45 (JFK Long-Term Lot), with most between $14 and $25. Terminal garages run $16 (BWI) to $89 (LaGuardia Terminal C). Valet, where offered, runs $30 to $75.

Is economy parking always the cheapest option at the airport?

It is the cheapest lot the airport runs, but not always the cheapest price: at JFK, LaGuardia, Newark, Pittsburgh and Boston, prebooking a garage or lot online costs less than driving up to economy, and at LAX the "from" prebook price for Economy ($15) is far below its $35 drive-up maximum.

Do you save money by booking airport parking online?

At the Port Authority airports, Pittsburgh, Boston, LAX and Tampa, yes, because those airports publish lower prebook rates. At O'Hare and Midway a reservation costs $10 more per day than driving up, and Denver's reservable product is its most expensive. Check the prebook column before assuming.

Are taxes included in the posted rates?

It varies. Houston, Tampa, Seattle, Oakland, O'Hare and Philadelphia's economy lot post prices with tax included. Pittsburgh adds 11.5% tax at the exit, Minneapolis excludes tax, Detroit adds a 2.65% card fee, and Miami adds $0.35 per transaction in its economy lot.

Which airport has the most expensive parking in the U.S.?

Among these 34, LaGuardia's Terminal C garage at $89 a day, JFK's Terminal 4 Blue Lot at $82, O'Hare's hourly garage at $79 and LAX's valet at $75 are the highest daily maximums. Newark's terminal garages at $65 to $70 and Midway's hourly garage at $67 follow.

Which airports raised parking rates in 2026?
