I was hoping the poor reviews on this place was just a fluke. We ended up having to rent a car from them because our other rental car was mistakenly cancelled. It seemed to be a decent deal for having to find a car so last minute. They don’t answer their phones. Took 15 minutes trying to call them before we got an answer. The shuttle arrived at the airport after 45 minutes when we were told 15 minutes. And then to our surprise, they required us to purchase their insurance which almost doubled the price of our rental. Very disappointed and wish I had a way out. Unfortunately we had limited options. Scammers for sure!
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT rent with this scam of a company. There are so many hidden fees that did not even make sense and it seemed like the unprofessional staff couldn't even legitimately explain what the fees were for. After all of these BS fees, the car was double the price of what we booked it. I've never had such a horrible experience with any business ever. Not to mention we had a bad car where the license plate was partially held on by GUM.
I seriously do not think it can get any worse than this. The only positive thing about Green Motion was the nice guy who drove the shuttle bus to and from the airport. Do yourself a favor and bring your business to Hertz, Avis, Thrifty, literally anywhere but Green Motion.
Worse service ever, I would have rate it 0 start if I could, on top of bad treatment and very rude and careless desk man, they have hidden fees and make you purchase mandatory insurance and use their sun-pass even if you have your own, and purchase insurance when you booked online your insurance won’t work, need and extra from them and they won’t accept some of the biggest auto insurance jcompanies like State Farm, they advice you to take pictures before leaving with their car do it if you have no other choice and had to rent from this awful company. The only positive remark is about the driver that took us there from the airport, he was a very nice person. A very bad experience, go somewhere else if you have to spend more cause you will here anyways, minimum $40 more per day.
If I could give this service negative stars I would absolutely do that. Where should we begin. 1 the directions that were given for the pick up area from the airport were confusing. 2 The phone number on the website and the directions were incorrect. If it wasn't for another rental company instructing us that the number on a list they go by was a different name we would still be stuck here. Finally after calling the new number they said its after your hours of reservation so the rental is cancelled. When you tell them "the number you guys have is incorrect and Ive been trying to contact you is wrong." He said, "we are sorry but there nothing I can do and the office is closed. If you call the 1800 number that appears on the website it's to sell you car and health insurance. If this company is not fraudulent and have not been investigated I will make sure I find the powers that be to figure this out. Do not Do Not Do not Do not give this people your money. And as for priceline.com they are next for this outrageous incompetence to see who they do business with.
I was kind of skeptical because of the other reviews but my wife did the reservation anyways. Thank goodness we rented with GREEN MOTION! Super easy pick up from the international airport and drop off! Yes, you have to put a security deposit upon arrival and if you want the unlimited travel pass then you have to pay a little extra. Overall our experience was smooth the lady on the front desk (Leonela) I think is her name was super nice she explained everything in detail. Will be renting from them on our next trip to Miami.
Worst rental experience of my life. Do NOT RENT WITH THEM. I repeat do not rent with them. I called and spoke to a female employee over the phone to clarify rental trip and fees then booked the van on their website. Upon arrival the gentleman informed me there was an additional $700 fee for the commercial insurance and tolls. Keep in mind I already added those options, apparently the vehicle needed double insurance. He then continued to patronize me explaining no female employee worked there and I must have spoke to another rental company. Since he looked me up in the system its registered and I would be charged the original $650.00 and then laughed in my face when he saw how distrought I was. Given the late hour, and limited choices I was forced to shell out $1,250.00 for a 5 day rental. I truly hope the employees are paid well / given life insurance, with my horrible robbery of an experience I can see their life being at risk daily. Icing on the horrible cake which I was served for my birthday weekend when I returned the van 2 female employees were inside the location to great me.
First time hearing of them on rentalcars.com. First time using them. They gave great customer service, friendly and informational. I would used them again. The car was nice for the price.
BBB rating is an F, I wish I would have checked reviews before I rented a car with Green Motion through Miami airport. Worst start to my vacation ever.
Provided flight information and still waited over 45 minutes for their shuttle service. Hidden fees everywhere!! 300% price increase from original reservation rate. Priceline fee is just a reservation fee and does not go to price of car per front desk associate.
Car was filthy and had previous customers receipt in it still. Car was beat up: dings, scratches and dents. Tire pressure light on, brakes squeaking and rubbing, horrible, horrible company. Do not do it!!!!
Arriving to Miami can be an overwhelming experience. From airport to the car rental department, the MIAMover will show you the massive city. All you’ll want is a smooth ride to get where you need to be after traveling. I didn’t find anything to be smooth here.
They don’t have a shuttle. We called the place itself only to be told she was servicing other customers. An hour later, she arrived and had us get in her van and show her our insurance policy. She knew the catch, and we found out that to get a car here, we’d need a better insurance policy (apparently one that covers at least $300,000?). We watched another woman go through the whole ordeal as well, only she had to pay for a taxi since the “shuttle” would never make it out her way (after being told “five minutes” was all it would take to pick her up, she had to ask what “five minutes” actually meant in the world of Green Motion...since she had called back several times every 10-15 minutes of waiting).
I officially gave up watching this woman receive catch after catch that demanded she pay for insurance daily after putting down a deposit that apparently went nowhere.
This was the worst start to a vacation I’ve ever had and can’t imagine how many people have been through similar experiences (the clerk seemed to know we’d have a rough time).
It’s pretty foreboding when the welcome video playing in the lobby is instructing you to check the vehicle for dents...apparently, this company will charge hidden fees anywhere they can hide them.
They charge me insurance liability by 300,000 the cost is 26 dolares extra by day, they not say it, I cancel my order , I lost my time.
Be sure to call and find out all the charges you will have to pay and all the insurance needs .... sunpass as well
