It's a decent airport. Easy access to get in and out. The parking structure is in great shape and on the way out, the credit card readers all work. There are enought restaurants and shoppes along the several concourses. The bathrooms are clean. Getting through TSA can be hit/miss, but that's pretty much true anywhere you go now days.

Fast and easy to get through! I would like more restaurants that are reflective of Milwaukee diversity though. We have sooo many restaurants here and get you see none of it represented at the airport. Moving walkways and more color/light/art in the airport would be nice too. The airport looks old but it definitely functions well for the city it's in.

A perfect airport for first time flyers. It is a small to medium sized airport with a variety of domestic and international flights. There aren't as many direct flights as larger airports.
The airport itself is super low-key and chill. It is not overwhelming and it is very easy to find everything you need from check in, baggage check, TSA, food, toiletries, and lounge seating.
The staff here is very kind and helpful. The TSA lines were small and the staff are very patient and kind while maintaining high professionalism.
The bathrooms are clean and the floors and surrounding areas are well kept.
Highly recommend the Saver Parking. It is very affordable and you can reserve online. Once you scan your QR code at the gate, an attendant greets you and tells you what lane to park in and to leave your hazards on for a shuttle to pick you up.
When I went the airport was not busy so a shuttle came within 2 minutes and was very courteous and helpful. It was a few minute ride to the drop off lane. The shuttle runs 24/7 and is a great affordable option.
Highly recommend checking in online 24 hours before to avoid the lines and kiosks.
Everything is ADA accessible and the food variety is great for many dietary needs.

I like flying out of Milwaukee Mitchell International airport. It's easy to navigate through, and it still has a small town feeling. It is always clean and organized. I would highly recommend this airport.

Convenient, not huge, local airport. Short off boarding time on arrival. Fast security check in outbound flights, many sitting spots, no long walking distances. Couple of shops,, one or two restaurants. Comfortable pick up and drop off points for ride sharing services.

Clean, nice people. Good ADA š services. Small enough to find your way but big enough that international flights and many other destinations are served.
There is a cell phone parking lot that is free for half hour. Or you can drive right down the street to the US Post Office and there you will find a parking lot for the historical marker. That lot you can sit for 2 hours and you can see the airplanes come and go.

As you can tell from the pictures I was at General Mitchell fairly early in the morning. I've been there later in the day when it's busier but it's usually not that bad. Pretty laid back airport with a good layout.

Very clean. Everyone has been so friendly and willing to help. The shops look nice. TSA was easy they were also friendly. I use the wheelchair service because I have trouble walking long distances the ride was bumpy. The "Drive" was Awesome! I wish I could remember his name so I could praise him for his great service. He was polite to my child.

Very efficient and smooth. The TSA staff is very friendly and the check was quick inspite of having a lot of passengers. Took a early morning flight still had couple of shops open. There is a washroom every 3-4mins of walking.

Sadly, I came due to the passing of my father. I loved the meditation area, me and my husband and I also stopped by the museum in the airport, which was nice, as well as the bookstore. I just forgot to take pictures. To be fair, a lot was on my mind. I will be arriving again more often, hopefully, for better occasions.

This smaller airport had a USO! It's not huge, but it gets the job done. Everything is well labeled, and they have wonderful vendors. There is plenty of seating throughout the airport with plug-in spots everywhere.

Clean. Power stations can be found near all the gates. Great stores and prices are actually good. A large bottle of water was $3.99. Unheard-of at an airport. Great food and drink options. Nice souvenirs options specially if you are a cheese head.

Nice airport! A bit confusing to walk past the security line in order to leave, but guessing the airport was built pre 9/11 and had to make changes on the fly. The main area looks nice and has a lot of options. Easy access to shuttles!

A great airport, especially for direct flights. Easily accessible for both Milwaukee and Chicago residents with none of the hassles of O'hare. Parking is easy and just a short walk to terminal. Ample seating, by the gates and a Delta Sky Club if you just want to relax. Security can get backed up on those busy travel and holidays, but still isn't terrible. Only negative I can see is there is not an overabundance of food options. Sometimes I also notice they are closed on odd days and times. Not sure, maybe it is staffing, but still not a huge issue for the convenience General Mitchel Airport provides.

I live 60 miles West of Chicago. And I can get to O'Hare in about 45 Min. less. But if I figure the time it takes to park, do security, and schlep a bag all the way to the gate, Mitchel is almost a tie. And actually quicker than Midway. Also less for parking and a nice relaxing switch from Chicago.
I now check all my air travel plans to see if I can get a price within a few bucks of Chicago. Well worth it!!

Arrived on a Friday evening departed on a Sunday afternoon. Not overly busy either time. Security was quick and efficient, TSA was pleasant. No shuttles or trains required to get from drop off to gate. Uber / Lyft clearly marked for pickup unlike other airports. Nice mosaic decorations on the ground for decorations. Wish United had a club available here. Lots of power outlets by the seating area. Overall I think this is a great airport.

Nice airport for the most part. Plenty of places to power up devices. Wide concourses and plenty of seating at gates.
However, many of the stores were closed, even on a heavy travel day. Employees were consistently wearing masks below their chins Found the staff (southwest) to be less than friendly. And cleanliness is a major issue. Garbage cans on C concourse were overflowing... for hours... all of them. Way too many recycling bins and not enough for general trash.

Great airport for being easy and less stressful than most airports Iāve been to. We came around Christmas time so they had decorated it really cool. I saw Santa flying, huge presents, and a bunch of other really cool art.
Looks like the employees care and actually like working there. The baggage pick up was close and convenient. I appreciated the relaxed feeling throughout the entire place. I recommend this airport to anyone who wants less stress than most airports across the world.

D Gate Security staff were so friendly to my 2yr old daughter and went above and beyond allowing my daughters to keep her teddy through the metal detector and allow us to have it checked at the very end. This simple gesture made it easy for my family of 4 to follow instructions and have fun while doing it.

In A Nutshell:
-MKE is a pretty nice airport.
-I saw signs that said it was voted the best airport in North America, but I honestly feel like San Jose is the best overall.
-This airport is small to mid-sized, but it's considered an international airport which is cool.
-It's laid out well w/ plenty of clean restrooms, a decent selection of restaurants & smooth airport security.
Overall, this is a nice airport to pass through when you are visiting Wisconsin.

In 6 minutes, I checked a bag with Alaska and walked through security ( tsa precheck). I haven't been able to get through this fast besides at a couple small regional airports.
For pickups, the parking garage is free the first 30 minutes.
Food options are lacking here, mostly coffee and brewery. For brown spotted cow beer fans, two places in concourse D sell 12 packs for almost $30.

We used to go around collecting the carts which you can get a quarter for returning. I have been in and out of this airport many times and don't have any complaints that I can think of.

I havenāt been to Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport in many years. Was nervous to fly, itās been 25 plus years, once I got there and boarded my flight my nerves calmed down. Iām a little more comfortable flight now that Iāve did it again. It was a pleasure to fly out of my home airport.

Flight got canceled. Got put on a second flight. It got canceled. Got scheduled for a flight the next day which absolutely would have been horrible for me. But Steven and Olga at Delta pulled some strings and got me on a different flight going home today. They were awesome. Saved my trip.

I flew out of here for the first time, and I was shocked by how easy it was. I will definitely be choosing this airport any chance I get rather than going to Chicago. Itās so easy to navigate, and most of the staff are really nice. Thereās great shops and food, and really anything youād hope to find in an airport. I definitely recommend it simply for the ease of the experience.

Milwaukee's best airport for passenger transport/travel! TSA can get a bit backed up but generally moves at a decent rate. Plenty of food options are available in every terminal, including the main concourse. There's also a fair amount of retail stores in the airport too. A enjoyable airport to travel through.
