Very clean airport. Has two main terminals, A and B with most flights going to major airline hubs. Note Uber and Lyft pick up can happen on the top or bottom floor so make sure to take note of that when booking. Seems like a very relaxed atmosphere relative to other airports I’ve been to.

Small airport with some amenities… car rental is right on premise with a short walk from the terminals…

Lots of quick shopping options, the duty free is for international fliers so you can buy non alcohol or snacks there but tax is included.

Nice place, very clean, and very easy to navigate. My only complaint was that the parking spaces were a little tight, since our SUV was almost on the line. When we returned, we nearly clipped a truck next to us because of the narrow parking space. If the parking spaces are wider, then I would improve my rating

Small airport but very nice. Security lines move fast. The only thing I don’t like is that they serve Caribou Coffee which is not the best tasting. Staff is incredibly friendly and know when to help you before you know you need to be helped.

I rated this airport a while ago but never wrote a review so I'm just circling back around to it now.

This is hands down my favorite airport. Full stop. From its design, layout, aesthetic, to its size and the fact that it is easy to navigate, this airport beats the pants off of all other airports I've flown out of by a mile. Heck, even the TSA folks are nicer here than any other domestic airport. Parking is convenient, it's clean, it's modern, it's just BETTER than the rest, and with flights to everywhere, it is the only airport I want to use every time I fly. It is about as stress free an experience that one can get when engaging in air travel. Love this place.

Easy and fast. From the entrance to the gate in under 5 minutes. This is the best airport for the typical anxiety filled traveler. The security staff is friendly and not the overly aggressive type. I really enjoy this airport.

After over a dozen times using RIC it's consistently above average. Keep in mind however it's not a large airport. They fly more directs the Norfolk which is a plus.

Not a lot of food options, but you will find enough to not starve. Your big carriers fly out from here, but I don't recall discount lines.

I will stick to Norfolk International for convenience and skip the 1:30 min drive when I can.

The 895 to the airport makes travel to and from very accessible. Drop off for departure is easily accessible. Parking is also seamless with options to pay before departing the terminal. The counter personnel are usually very friendly. Delays have been very impactful lately. All in all, Richmond International Airport has served my travel needs very well on this and other travel occasions. I will continue to support the business.

Everything went very well. Everybody was extremely kind and helpful. I especially appreciate the people that push my wheelchair. The bathrooms were clean and well lit which has a handicap person I appreciate. Although there were not a lot of restaurants open at that time of night there were plenty of places where you could grab a snack, a sandwich, something to drink, and something to read.

Economy lot parking during the Holiday rush was very well organized. Parking agents were stationed in the lot guiding ppl to their parking spot. The shuttle was very timely and driver Dave very courteous. He even took the time to ask if I had my cell and locked my car. Props to the parking people!

The easiest little airport. Free hour of parking in garage if picking up.

Not a lot of food options, so plan accordingly.

It is a smaller airport that is busy during weekdays but not crowded on the weekends. No lines at TSA checkpoint on weekends. Great USO located on the baggage claim floor. All you military service members need to stop by the USO there for some food, drink, and relaxation no matter whether you are flying in/out or just picking up or dropping off someone.

The airport is clean and the TSA process is smooth and quick. They may want to have someone collect the trays to avoid everyone crowding each other rushing. No disrespect to the agent but I left the trays there both hands full and a crowd around me. Thanks for keeping us safe.

Easy and friendly little airport. RIC has easy and cheap parking and a decent range of flights. Security is a breeze (but it closes at 8pm so don't be late if you have a later flight!) but the food options aren't super great, so you might want to plan ahead if you're spending mealtime there.

Splitting up pickup and dropoff is a modern marvel. This airport is very easy to navigate and has a lot of options for spending the money burning a hole in your pocket.

TSA Pre-Check at RIC should be completely separate from the main line. There is only a line to check identification, but you join back into the main line for bag/security check which partially defeats the purpose of having PreCheck. I guess due to the set up, it wouldn't work right now, but there is space for it to be arranged. Other than that, the airport seems very well kept and clean during my visits there. It's nice that it's a smaller airport because you don't have to walk too far to get to anything, especially if you're in a rush. The main check in counters, security, and gates are in close proximity to one another. Lastly, I always think it is easier to pay and park in the garage instead of taking their bus from the other parking lot. If you know someone nearby or in the surrounding areas, it would be best to drop your car off with them and commute to the airport to save money.

The five star is for how easy it is to maneuver and parking is super easy as well. It's nice there is a upper arrival drop-off and a lower pick-up. Security is usually smooth and they give directions. Small and quaint! Nice to see out the windows and snap a shot of the planes.

Now the other....2 star on the vibe of this airport! Richmond itself is a really cool city with a lot of history and art. The city is filled with the most amazing architecture and art! This airport feels like you are in an interrogation room. Bright too bright florescent lighting and nothing on the walls that shows any character of any sorts. Some random cars sitting inside the lobby at times. It just needs a better welcoming feel to it. Travel should be fun and inviting!

This airport has grown so much on the thirty years. It is just the right size for convenience. Walks from drop off points not so far from the gates and baggage checks and claims. TSA is pretty quick. I love the in and out feel. Parking can get confusing but is doable.

Easy to get around. Not jammed or crowded. Departing is always smooth.

I wish the rental car would have more cars as twice I had to wait over an hour for a car but they worked hard and tried to move as fast as they could.

Beautiful airport that still has a small airport feel without feeling too crowded. Plenty of amenities and restaurants, and a lot of water refill stations too which is useful after TSA.

Tried the new Ironclad Coffee in Concourse B, it's a tad bit expensive but that's expected for airport food. It took around 15 minutes for my order to be ready and it was very good.

895 is pretty expensive to get to the airport but if there is traffic on 95 it is worth it. 10/10 airport I love it.

I flew into Richmond international airport on a Friday night and left on a Sunday night. It is a beautiful complex of buildings. I'm not sure when it was rebuilt but looked and felt new to me. Moving through the airport and the way in and the way out was quick and easy. I checked bags easy pickup on both sides. All the usual beverage eating and souvenir stores. Bathrooms were well maintained. I gave fhem five stars

Nice airport, good selection of airlines, but consistently has the slowest baggage delivery to the carousels. Tonight my bag was marked “priority” and it was the next to last bag to come out. It took 20-25 minutes for the first bags to be delivered, then the carousel stopped for about 10 minutes and then more bags came out. What is going on with that?

By far my favorite airport I’ve ever been too. Not only is it super clean, but my experience with the people working at Richmond International was so pleasant- which as most people know is rare for an airport. Overall great people and beautiful airport!!

It was our first time flying into Richmond since we usually drove down 95 but this is a decent airport with many options. From my initial movements throughout the facility from gate to baggage to car rental was a very seamless process which could be only enhanced when thinking about when there are busier times. So far so good at this airport and I will fly in again to this location.

I love this airport. Even though there are 2 other airports closer to me I always check to see if I can travel through here. It's clean inside and out and it is rarely very crowded. The restaurants are built for light travelers and more family oriented.

Small, but efficient run airport. The security gate is a smooth operation. Thirty minutes plus before a plane reservation is generally the minimum needed time for stress-free travel.

This is my home airport. Always clean and efficient. Park and Go is near by if you want to save on parking. Airport parking is also available. Never had a bad experience here other than individual airlines needing additional staff to help out during busy times. No issues with TSA. Bathrooms are sanitized, cleaned, and maintained. I wish they would improve their customs area so we can have more international and domestic flights. I’m tired of having to make stops and want more nonstop flights.

Everyone is always so friendly whenever I go through this airport! Tsa was great, getting everyone through no problems. I arrived early (earlier than I needed to but I had a chance to find my gate and relax). The stores were even open this trip and there were a lot of options for an early dinner

Great airport. Had late lunch at the club level grill. Loaded waffle fries. Really good. A shout out to my server, Denise. In a day and age when service can be really hit or miss, you knocked it out of the park. Thanks and have a great day. Be sure and ask for denise.

Super clean and nice airport. We had zero issues here and the shuttle service picked us up from our car as soon as we arrived. Then when we returned home he to us straight to our car first after noticing I was pregnant. :)

No frills international airport. If living in Virginia like myself, its closer than Dulles. Has a few shops and restaurants. Clean bathrooms and friendly staff. Would recommend if not looking for anything fancy but still a good amount of airlines! Economy Parking was simple, fast and very efficient, never had to wait for a bus from arrival to the lot or from the terminal to your car.

Small airport with a big airport feel

This edit is after posting and a response to RIC

My review means it's the best of both worlds. Security lines are NOT ridiculously long (small airport) but yet organized and professional (big airport). Ground transportation, parking and baggage claim are all easy to get to. and I really enjoy flying in or out of RIC more than any other airport.

Nice airport. Signage to return and pick up a rental car is easy. Getting a cab and finding our gate was easy. I didn't check for gluten free foods because I was on one of the first flights out and last flights in.

This is a very nice but somewhat small airport. Getting through security is a quick and easy task since it is not super busy. The staff are helpful if you need help finding where you need to go, and overall it's a very nice airport.

There are also some good shops and places to eat as well.

Travel made easy! Parking was a breeze, getting to the terminal was a simple walk, and security was quick and efficient. What a great way to start a trip! On top of that, my ticket prices were much lower compared to my previous airport. So excited to have found such a convenient travel hub!

I do not have any complaints. My entire process was very smooth via JetBlue. The lines were reasonable for the time of day I was departing. Courteous service. Slight delay with passengers arriving and exiting the flight, but overall, it was a very smooth experience.

Love the size of this airport, small. Lines aren't usually long. And if you park in the economy lots the shuttle will pick you up from and drop you back off at your car. This is a great service.

Smooth experience in terms of airport functionality. Very... functional is just the best way to describe it. I'll keep this at 4 stars because getting to your plane is of course the most important thing, but the food selection approaches shameful considering how good the food and drink is in Richmond. Close to zero vegan and healthy options. The only restaurant in Terminal A had 4 egg options for breakfast (literally no other menu items, sides, anything- just a list of 4 things), so vegans get ready for a good ol' breakfast of mixed nuts.

By far one of the nicest and cleanist airports in the country. I cant say i have been to a cleaner or nicer airport and the facilities and staff are great. The dining options are slightly limited but what the lack in quantity is made up for in quality with great food and drink. Excellent airport and I would hope to travel through here any time I fly!

As far as airports go, this one is very nice. It is clean, bright, and everyone is so friendly, even down to the shuttle bus driver (shout out to Nicole!). It was well-organized and I felt the least amount of stressed I've ever felt in an airport!

Very nice and quaint airport (the Honolulu airport) could take lessons from them on cleanliness, hospitality, and customer service. Only issue was when I got off my plane, there were not signs immediately telling you the way to baggage claim. Overall very nice airport.

Always easy to navigate. Free 1hr parking is a good thing. Covid has affected the food inside. They were not open still, as of Sept 2020. Just the gift store. Great place to pick up RVA and VA gifts.
