It's a pretty decent & clean airport. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I've seen a couple of nicer airports. They have frequent shuttles that run about every 10-15 minutes to the rental car pick-up. And same when I dropped it off. I did curbside check-in, and there was no line. It did take about 25 minutes to get through TSA security. They did make me take out my electronic devices & take my shoes off.

This airport has some great food choices. They have the typical coffee places, Starbucks & Pete's. Of course, the Starbucks line was long. The chairs at the gates are a fair size and decent.

We love William P. Hobby Airport. It’s large enough to have a great many destinations yet small enough to not be overwhelming. The public areas and restrooms are extremely clean. Best of all, it’s super easy to navigate. Large monitors, at eye level all over, lots of clearly marked signage and extremely cooperative and friendly staff. A really good experience to fly through.

Cute airport! Efficient and convenient. I had to visit a client and took this airport as an alternative to IAH. To get to the rental center I took the Hertz shuttle at Zone 1 and was driving away with my car within 20 minutes of getting my bags.

A great airport to fly into when visiting Houston, TX

There are 2 airports that serve Houston, TX: George Bush International Airport located 23 miles north and Houston Hobby Airport located 7 miles south. Houston Hobby Airport (HOU) is a prominent hub in Texas and handles around 14 million passengers annually. The airport is a major hub for Southwest Airlines, which seems to dominate the terminal with numerous gates and flights to various destinations. The airport hosts several other airlines, including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and Frontier Airlines. I flew into this airport right after the hurricane had rolled through and was amazed that they were open. It has a modern design design and was clean from check-in to the gates. It is a smaller airport than George Bush but I think it has several advantages over the large airport. Returning rental cars was the easiest I have ever experienced for an airport that does not have cars on the property. Many of the agencies have their car lots very close to the airport. Once you arrive at the airport proper, the security line is obviously shorter and seems more efficient. I appreciated the straightforward layout, which makes navigation easy. The terminal had a variety of dining and shopping options like Chick-fil-A A. Overall, I like this airport and would recommend it as a great option for anyone traveling to Houston, Texas.

I absolutely love this airport! The aesthetic is Beautiful and provides plenty of options for photo ops. 📸 In addition, they have SO MANY Amazing food & bar selections that you will literally not want to leave the airport. 😅 Although, it does seem to always be busy, the lines at security/bag check move swiftly and the staff is generally very friendly, and will help you navigate, as it is easy to get turned around in this airport. Everything is definitely Bigger in Texas! 😉

Great Airport. Very large and fast paced. Big selection of places to grab a bite to eat before your flight. Lots of nice gift shops and clothing stores. The Tram is very fast and will get you to your terminal quickly. Some terminals have a bar in the waiting area, which is great! You can enjoy a couple of ice cold beverages before your flight. 😁👍This Airport serves all the major airline carriers. Very nice restrooms also.. Overall, a great Airport. I highly recommend. 5 Stars Plus !!

Clean, efficient, and friendly. Pretty much what you hope for in an airport.

Good representation for Houston.

The security itself was a bit overwhelming (always is anywhere though!)

But went by super fast, just gotta keep up! Little tip, personal items (wallets phones, laptops, shoes, etc) go in the buckets, bags and everything stay freely on the scanner.

Definitely try to be at the airport 1 hour before the flight boards so you can cover yourself through parking, security and grabbing a bite to eat, etc.

Check out the model of the ISS, super cool little info charts too.

I like the airport and this one is definitely a nice one to make travels happen.

Hobby Airport holds a special place for us. From watching planes come in at the viewing parking lot to exploring the terminal museum, there’s a sense of history and charm that makes Hobby truly unique. It’s more than just an airport, it’s an experience. We fly out of Hobby at least once a year, and it’s always a positive experience. The terminals are clean and well organized, and the airline employees are usually friendly and helpful. Whether you’re navigating check-in, security, or the gates, everything runs smoothly, making it a stress free airport compared to larger, more chaotic hubs. For aviation enthusiasts, Hobby is a dream. The museum is a fantastic touch that adds to the airport’s character, and the viewing lot offers a front row seat to watch the planes come and go. It’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the excitement of aviation.

If you’re flying private, you’ll be even more impressed. The private services are top-notch, offering convenience and luxury that’s hard to beat. Hobby Airport combines efficiency, history, and charm, making it a place we always look forward to visiting. It’s a shining example of what a great airport should be.

This is the best seat on the house. There are about 10 of these in route to gates 1-5. If you have a layover snag one and you can chill with a cool view of the runway. The seats lay back so far that it almost feels like an inversion table.

As a huge bonus Chick fil A is right around the corner.

Lovely airport with many options for restaurants. Flew in with American and returned out of the airport through delta. This airport caters to southwest as majority of their flights are with southwest. On arrival I had to wait a couple of hours till a family member joined me from another flight. Charging outlets are severely lacking here. The delta kiosk via departure was very unorganized and confusing. There is no baggage drop and every one has to stand in the same line regardless of if they’re checking in a bag or not. The self check in desk is not capable or printing baggage tags. All very confusing and a waste of time. The airport reminds me of the one in New Orleans.
