Good rooms, clean, beds and linens good quality, quiet split AC, or you can open your windows, beautiful grounds and the most adorable little golf course with 9 short holes included in price. Mini-fridge in the room and you can rent a microwave if needed. We brought our own clubs, but rentals are available for free. The hotel is a walking distance (though not too close) to the Balboa Island, a short drive to Corona del Mar and other beaches. Friendly staff. It was a great stay for us, highly recommended.

The outdoor patio is warm and inviting with the fire. The beds are made perfectly and I sensed zero dust particles! I felt safe and special while visiting.

This is a great hotel. Stayed here a few times when in the area for business and haven’t been disappointed. The rooms are spacious and kept clean, the location is great also. The self parking is very much appreciated, given that most hotels in the area only offer valet parking and charge a fortune for it.

This is a great resort! Everything is very clean and upkept. Housekeeping is phenomenal and everyone is very friendly. The golf course is well groomed and good for all skill sets. Would be 5 out of 5 but the hottubs aren't very hot, more like warm but I can understand if it's turned down to reduce liability, although with having back and joint problems, would have loved the hottub to be a bit warmer.

Me and my wife are reoccurring customers that always have a great experience at this resort. The customer service team, especially John, is always accommodating, reasonable, and respectful every time we stay here. The location is prime with easy access to Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, and other famous CA coastal attractions. I run a lot and the back shores is the perfect place to run. As a bonus, the resort has Tesla chargers which helps us avoid crowded super chargers. However, we wish the resort added a few more charging stations with the rise of EV vehicles on roads. Also, the rooms we had have no microwave to reheat leftover food. Overall, this resort is superb and we will definitely come back.

Room was comfortable, but shower head is too low. Bathroom door didn't stay closed/did not have a lock. Layout of hotel and parking is awkward but they offer golf cart service at valet to take you to self parking.
Pitch n putt included with stay. Breakfast staff was excellent, our servers Felix and Juan were especially helpful.
Some noise from airplanes due to proximity to airport but did not affect our stay. Close to Fashion Island.
Recommend to visit Balboa Island or enjoy a walk from Inspiration Point. Gorgeous down by the beach!

Visited here for a family vacation. The hotel staffs were all friendly and helpful. Willing to serve the guests. The staying room was nicely clean and well organized. They have 9 holes short golf course in the campus. All Par 3 in range of 50 yrd to 100 yrd. Basically every hole is easy family friendly design but not too easy even for single handicap player. Still fun. Specifically last three holes are beautiful with a scenic harbor view. We had a fun time there.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach hotel for 2 nights for a quick getaway for my wife’s birthday. Upon entering the room, we were greeted with birthday cupcakes! And a handwritten birthday card for my wife from the staff! What a great personal touch! I knew when I booked that this is an older hotel, but it looked like it was well maintained and thankfully, that is correct. Our room overlooked one of the pool areas and the room was very spacious and clean. One of the best things? No noisy AC fan! It was so quiet and worked well!
Every staff member we came in contact with was very friendly, helping and smiling. They are redoing the lobby, so a temporary lobby has been set up with portable tables, but they make it work! And if you are in the lobby in the late afternoon, get some free popcorn! Just like the movie theater. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good with fast service and extremely friendly and attentive serving staff.
The location of the hotel is great for the beach and huge shopping mall like a mile away.

Great pool it was super clear. Slide seemed fun but a little unsafe due to the rules not being enforced well. Sheets were clean, and there is a option to get a bike and go biking with no cost if you are staying at the hotel. Golf was avalible, able to get putters and clubs with no cost and balls. If you're looking for a hotel/resort in Newport Beach, this may be one to consider if you get the right room. This location is near popular destinations in Newport Beach, including being only minutes away by car from Fashion Island or the beach. The beautiful Newport Beach Back Bay is a short walk to the north. There's a golf course and several swimming pools on site. The Oasis Pool even has a water slide.
The grounds of the resort are really pleasant. There are peaceful fountains and covered walking paths. There is an amphitheater with stage that could be a nice consideration for an intimate wedding, company retreat, or just enjoying the summer concerts.
Having stayed here multiple times over multiple years, the quality of the rooms can vary greatly. This latest visit in January 2023 I had the great fortune of staying in the Lido building for the first time. The room was so much more pleasant than previous stays in the Bay Building. If you're booking a room here, make sure to request the Lido building for the best experience.

This hotel is very beautiful! Great view, great location, and very nice property. There was some opportunity regarding the staff, and service. Other than that it would have been 5 stars. However, for the price you’d expect a little better service. I reserved a fire pit, and the allotted time is 40 minutes. We asked where to find the fire pit that was reserved, and they told us to just walk out to the left and walk straight down. We passed a fire pit that was already taken. We had to call and ask which fire pit was reserved, and they gave us more specific directions. The fire pit has a small sign behind the seating area that had no name, and was hardly visible. We had ordered chips and salsa to be delivered with 1 mixed drink and the s’mores kit as soon as we arrived to the fire pit. The s’mores kit did not come out until our time was over. I asked if they could deliver it sooner, and did not get a reply. Once my time was over I asked to cancel the s’mores kit since it’s prepackaged and they said it was already on the way. Some of the staff also seemed rude to some of the other guests. Other than that the hotel was very nice.

Firstly you pull into the entrance and say “WOW!” This place is beautiful! Originally I wanted to show my appreciation to Dustin, specifically at the front desk. However the next morning my wife and I decided to have breakfast at “Shore” the restaurant inside the hotel. That’s when we realized the whole team at Hyatt Regency is spectacular and amazing. The Hyatt team doesn’t know we’re here from Arizona for my family members funeral and this team doesn’t realize how much everything they’ve done for us means to us. Our room was perfect, breakfast was amazing and the staff here seriously and I can’t say it enough they are AMAZING! Thank you all so much for for everything you do.

Our hotel stay was wonderful! From our room to the amenities. The front desk was courteous and the servers at the bar were great too. The man from recreation who came to open the slide was fun and helped my littlest guy. We rented bikes from the hotel to ride to the beach, it made it so fun! I appreciate how well everyone cared for us and the other guests. It was a great time and we will be back. They even brought us a microwave for my kids. The service was spectacular.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I think the hallways to the rooms in the main building could use a touch up and more color. They are showing a bit of age. It's like a good looking guy but turns out to be shallow. It's interesting if not disappointing. When you first enter the Hyatt in the early evening, it looks grand, with the lighted palm trees, the beautiful entryway. The check-in process was great & easy. We were first sent to the Lido area & as we walked over, I thought, is this the motel 8- ghetto area? The area looked 70s -80s motel with a bunch of noisy people. We looked for an elevator but couldn't find one, found out later, there are no elevators. My husband carried our luggage upstairs. As we were walking towards our room, we noticed quite a few plastic trash bags outside of rooms, looked dirty, maybe people are living here, not sure. We get to room & it's still dirty from the previous guests, they never cleaned it. I call the front desk, the girl apologizes & I am upset, I ask for an upgrade, we haul our bags back to the front desk & now we are sent to the Balboa area, the difference is an elevator & an almost clean room (the bathroom still had someones pubes in the bathtub, I wanted to vomit but whatever) wow this is Newport Beach, & this is such a sad hotel & maybe because of COVID they are even more understaffed at this old hotel. It's our first time traveling since COVID, & we will wait till it's over & make better decisions on where we stay.

Beautiful joint! We love this place, and enjoy going there just about anytime we can. This time we went down for a friend's wedding, and we had it down in the wine cellar! I got to tell you, it is very very cool. This wine cellar is where John Wayne would hang out. Small, you won't be able to fit many more than 10 people down there for that type of thing. Definitely recommended!

Needed a change of scenery during this pandemic. Had a wonderful 2 night getaway here. It was quiet. Service was great. Shannon at the lobby bar/restaurant provided us excellent service. She was so friendly and gave us some great recommendations in the area. She always wore her mask and maintained social distancing, while still making us feel welcome. Very professional. We take the virus seriously so it was nice to see everybody at the hotel following guidelines. The pools were very relaxing. My husband and I were the only ones at the Lido pool and we texted the front desk to see if they could turn off the music being piped in so we could listen to our own music and within 5 minutes, they turned it off. Really nice to do that. My only complaint is the parking fees. $38/day. We will uber there next time since we are not far from Newport. Rooms are a tad dated but clean.

Maybe it was because there were 2 conferences going on at the same time. One of my friends was assigned a room that was already occupied. The check in/out times were not adjusted to work around the conference schedule. I made the process sloppy and stressful.

Due to the experience my daughter and I continue to receive, I have returned and will continue to do so. This Hyatt is amazing in really all categories. Don't get me wrong, it can get pricey, especially when they have special events, but all the staff really do work to take care of you. Great bar, great restaurant, amazing pool with slide, room service, and self parking or car valets. I already look forward to the next visit. If you are reading this... you should really consider adding this resort to your area plans, you won't regret it.

Awesome Newport Beach resort right on the back bay. I've taken in outside concerts right on the water outside the back of the resort. A blissful location for their summer jazz concert series. Kayaking, windsurfing and other water activities can be lined up right from the concierge and be had with a short walk out the back of the resort.
I spend a lot of time in Newport Beach and this is one cool place for a special stay, drinks, dinner or socializing with fun people.

The bar was really good and lively. Pools are great. Good location. Only drawback was a group of Oakley employees who were there for a convention, who were a bit noisy late at night.

Great location, service was great all around except for one less than friendly interaction with the front desk on our last day, rooms were okay for the price but it seems like they’re going through some renovations and updating right now. Had a temporary check in location on our first two days while the lobby was being renovated, looked great on the third day.
The kids also really enjoyed the pool which had music playing on Saturday. The water slide is great for kids who don’t swim (mine) because it doesn’t exit into the pool.

It was really a beach side view Hyatt. I believe one of the best views and I really fell great. The view was fantastic and specially the night view with a cold breeze made my day. I hope anyone who loves beach side siting and then food with beach side view must visit this hotel. They also have high fire frames which will provide you heat if needed. This makes this Hyatt a much better place for wonder and beach lovers. So I say a must visit place of you love this side of the beach and want a cool dinner OT any supper during your visit. Fantastic views with good food.

We did a staycation w/ our 14 year old son for an extended weekend. Luckily the pools, golf course and gym was open so we were able to enjoy some of the amenities. Are main complaint was boredom. At a resort we are accustom to activities such as movie at the pool, fitness classes, volleyball, guitar player (music) basket weaving, etc... there was nothing to do at night. Our son was pretty board most of the time. The pool slide was disappointing - def for little kids. And, the pools closed at 8 pm. We did not use the bikes as the area was hilly and didn’t seem bike friendly. Perhaps electric bike options would have been fun. The walls are thin and the rooms kinda small, but clean and the king bed and roll away was comfortable. The resort location was good - near balboa island and fashion island. Unfortunately, the mall closed at 7 pm. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel was super clean and well maintained.

There are three swimming pools on property which was great, as this gave us a choice when the main pool would get crowded. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and offer a nice balcony. I have zero complaints about this hotel. We will definitely be staying here again. It is close to Newport, Huntington, and Laguna beaches so the location is great. As a Globalist, we got complimentary breakfast from the on-site Shor restaurant each morning & it was FANTASTIC! The gym was also really nice - lots of cardio equipment, plenty of space, lots of free weights & weight machines. I would recommend asking for a room on the further edge of the property if you're sensitive to noise. The walls are kind of thin, so I just imagine it'd be maybe a bit too noisy if you were staying near the pools toward the center of the property. Otherwise, absolutely loved our stay & definitely recommend!

The staffs are all friendly and extremely helpful, they even bring free water bottles to our room everyday.
This is hotel for family so I understand you will hear noisy kids running outside. However that’s not a problem for us, we just feel safe in this hotel , especially we love Newport Beach. I just wish breakfast was provided and microwave in the room. Other than that, we have nothing to complain. We’ve stayed in a couple different Hyatts and this one is our favorite.

Checked in 09/03-06/21. Great place for the family. I have a 5, 8 and a 13 year old and we all enjoyed our stay. Newport Dunes is a short walk away and offers floating jumpers over the bay, kayaking, paddle boating, paddle boarding and walking/ Biking trails. The hotel staff was welcoming and ensured we enjoyed our stay there. Tons of activities are included; volleyball, golfing, horseshoes, bike rentals, 3 pools and much more. I love it the most is having a private access or entrance to Newport Backbay for a run or walk. No more excuses for not going out to workout. The property is very family oriented. I spent the night at Newport Dunes resort on 10/28 with my sister and a friend. Went to Newport Aquatic Center on 10/29 for kayaking. After Kayaking, stopped into Hyatt Regency for lunch before hitting the road to go home. What a wonderful experience during this CoVid pandemic! We were a little early for lunch so we sat in the garden area and enjoyed a cool breeze. Christian brought us drinks, took our order and then brought us our lunch. He was more than just a pleasant waiter, we joked back and forth with him and had a lovely conversation. He was very attentive and took care of our every need. Anyone listening...Christian is a keeper!!

The hotel is on a quiet neighborhood and it's pretty close to the beach. It does have great swimming pools on site. The kids will love the water sliding. This is a family friendly hotel and great with kids. They do have free bike rental which is a plus to cruise around the place. If you are into golf, it has it too. This is a very popular place for weddings as well.

Beautiful place. The beds were pretty small considering we ordered king sized beds but it was fine. The pools were nice and the balcony area was perfect. The phone for the room was ripped out and hidden in the closet which was weird. No microwave. But all and all we were happy!

Beautiful place. The room was spacious and we'll appointed. Bathroom looked great and the view to the Back Bay was very picturesque. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I think the hallways to the rooms in the main building could use a touch up and more color. They are showing a bit of age. Just a minor nitpick though for an otherwise perfect stay.

This Hyatt has three pools one is a very large children's pool with a water slide the hotel shows its older side in the popcorn ceiling and holes in the linens and small things like that but the service is wonderful every staff member was so helpful from the front desk to the poolside waitress to the staff at the breakfast bar and even staff you would find walking around everybody offered to help and was so efficient at their work that it made it a pleasure to stay here we will definitely be coming back again my 8 year old daughter LOVES this hotel for the pool and oatmeal

Enjoyed our one night stay here. Rooms look a bit tired but everything functioned perfectly. Comfy bed, nice view from our 2nd floor balcony, valet parking was so easy. When we're in the area again we would certainly stay here. No issues at all.

I was very impressed with the staff, especially Diego the Manager. He was extremely accommodating and professional. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and while kept. Room service was delicious and the beds are just as good as the beds at the Ritz!

Really enjoyed my stay here. Was able to do early check in, which allowed us to enjoy more time to walk around and enjoy the overall location. We enjoyed some drinks from the bar in the afternoon and the bartender was really nice. Room was nice and clean. Room service was quick to serve us in the evening eventhough it was pretty busy. Will continue to visit this location in the future.
