Short answer. The arena publishes no prices. Its Directions and Parking page says "Event parking rates vary," that all its lots are cashless, and that prepaying through its partner ParkWhiz is "strongly encouraged." The Penguins say the lots open two hours before game time. For September 21, ParkWhiz listed the arena's own lots at $45.80 to $58.60 and downtown garages from $11.66.
ALCO Parking posts $50 for hockey at the South Lot and a $20 event rate at the Manor Complex Garage. Pittsburgh Parking Authority garages list $5 to $8 flat after 4 p.m. on a 2023 chart with no arena event rate. The T is free inside downtown, and Steel Plaza is the closest station.

Arena lots: names, rules and what is not published
The arena is at 1001 Fifth Avenue. Its parking map (PDF) names lots A Melody Tent, B East and C South, the Fullerton Lot, the Logan Lot and the arena's parking garage, plus five downtown garages: Chatham Center, U.S. Steel Building, BNY Mellon Center, Manor Complex and Duquesne University. It names no operator and no lot addresses. ALCO's arena lots page lists "South Lot (Arena Lot 1)" through "East Lot C (Arena Lot 6)" and a "West Lot (Triangle Lot)".
- Cashless: all lots, per the Directions and Parking page, and the building, per the Penguins' Know Before You Go page.
- Prices: not published. The arena says "Event parking rates vary" and sends prepaid buyers to ParkWhiz.
- Opening: two hours before game time, per the Penguins' parking page.
- The garage: the Penguins list it at 1300 Centre Ave, 412-804-3372. The arena says it serves non-hockey events.
- Accessible spaces: East, Fullerton, South and West lots, per the A to Z Guide. The Penguins say to prepay the Fullerton Lot on Centre Avenue.
- Buses: groups buy a prepaid bus pass through Group Sales. RV rules: not published.
- Re-entry: not permitted at the building. Lot in-and-out and tailgating: not published.

Downtown garages: Parking Authority, ParkWhiz and SpotHero
Pittsburgh Parking Authority. Its facilities page lists addresses. Its rate chart, headed "Rates Effective July 1, 2023," lists flat rates for cars in after 4 p.m.: $6 at Third Avenue, First Avenue and Grant Street Transportation Center, $5 at Oliver, and $8 at Mellon Square, Smithfield-Liberty and Fort Duquesne and Sixth, which is also marked "Event Rates Vary." It shows no arena event rate, and the authority publishes no distances.
ParkWhiz. The September 21 event page showed 24 listings from $11.66 to $58.60. Chatham Center Garage, 112 Washington Pl., 0.1 miles away, was $51.11; the 214 Third Ave. Garage was $11.66 at 0.7 miles.
SpotHero. Its destination page shows "starting at" prices not tied to a game: $6.99 at the Kaufmann Garage and $25.03 at the US Steel Tower Garage, both 13 minutes (0.6 miles). Search snippets call SpotHero an official partner; the page itself does not.
Rideshare, taxis and drop-off at Wylie and Fullerton
- Pickup and drop-off is at Wylie Avenue and Fullerton Street, per the arena's A to Z Guide and the Penguins' parking page.
- Taxis wait outside the F.N.B. Gate; the arena's transit page gives 412-321-8100.
- Accessible drop-off is on Fifth Avenue at what the Penguins call the EQT Gate. The arena's own gate list has no EQT Gate; its Fifth Avenue entrance is the Peoples Gate. We could not confirm they are the same doors.
- Lyft is the official rideshare partner; the arena's page carries the code PPGPAINTS for 50% off your first two rides, up to $10 a ride.
Getting there on PRT: buses and the T to Steel Plaza
The arena's transit page lists bus routes 61A, 61B, 61C, 61D, 71A, 71C, 71D, 81 and 83, and calls Steel Plaza, at Ross Street and Sixth Avenue, the closest T station. No walk time is published.
The arena page says T service within the Golden Triangle is free at all times. PRT's Free Fare Zone covers First Avenue, Steel Plaza, Wood Street and Gateway; riders from outside it pay full fare. The fare page lists $2.75 full fare, valid three hours, a $7 day pass and a $97.50 31-day pass, with no effective date.
PRT's funding page lists increases marked "Effective February 2026," the day pass to $7.50 and the 31-day pass to $106.50, but on September 14 the fare page still showed the old figures.
Accessible parking and drop-off
- Accessible spaces are in the East, Fullerton, South and West lots, first come, first served.
- The Penguins recommend prepaying the Fullerton Lot on Centre Avenue; ParkWhiz had it at $58.60 for September 21.
- Accessible drop-off is on Fifth Avenue at the EQT Gate; see the gate note above.
What this guide doesn't recommend
- Bringing cash. Every arena lot, the building and the Manor Complex Garage are cashless.
- Heading for the arena's garage on a hockey night. The arena reserves it for non-hockey events.
- Assuming the Parking Authority's $5 to $8 rate holds on game nights. The chart is from 2023.
- Stepping outside during the game. Re-entry is not permitted.
- Buying a resale pass blind. Vivid Seats does not say which lot it covers.
