Long Beach Convention Center Parking Guide

The center's garages and lot

The center counts parking for over 4,000 vehicles, run by ACE Parking. Which location opens depends on the event.

• Arena Parking Garage, East Seaside Way: 1,200 spaces for conventions, tradeshows and arena events.
• Promenade Garage, Seaside Way at Pine Avenue: 400 spaces for conventions, tradeshows and special events.
• Terrace Theater Parking Garage, Collins Way: 700 spaces, generally for theater events.
• Main Parking Lot, Linden Avenue: 1,900 spaces on Shoreline Drive, which the 710 freeway becomes.

Rates, tickets and payment

• Rate: $15 a day with no in-and-out privileges. Rates may differ by event. Of the event pages we checked, only Formula Drift listed one.
• Payment: kiosks take cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. The exit gate takes cards only. Cash works only at select kiosks in the Promenade Lobby and near the Arena Box Office. The ACE Parking app also works.
• Lost ticket: pick "Lost Ticket" at any kiosk. The fee is not published.
• Reservations: ACE sells reserved parking for select events. Nothing was on sale when we checked.
• EV charging: buy a regular pass, park at an EV Passport spot and pay for the charge by QR code.
• Rules: no overnight parking, no tailgating, and no overnight RV parking or camping unless an event page says otherwise.
• Not published: hours, clearance heights, and bus or oversized vehicle rules.

Two conflicts. The accessibility page mentions "all four parking structures," but the parking page lists three garages and a lot. A 2018 ACE map shows different space counts. We used the current parking page.

Events through mid-November

From the official calendar. Of the event pages we checked, only Formula Drift lists a parking rate.

Nearby garages and app prices

The center names seven off-site garages, including The Pike Outlets garage at 65 Cedar Ave, the Aquarium garage at 99 Golden Shore and the garage at 180 E Ocean Blvd. It publishes no rates for them. Visiting the aquarium too? See our Aquarium of the Pacific parking guide.

The center also says it does not authorize reservations through third-party vendors. Every listing below is a separate private garage or lot.

SpotHero, October 3, 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Eight facilities, fees included, from $12.87 at the East Village lot at 119 Long Beach Blvd, 0.4 miles away, to $48.26 at The Hubb garage, 0.6 miles away. The garage at 180 East Ocean Blvd was $17.16.

ParkWhiz, same window. Seven listings, from $16.05 at the Onni East Village Garage to $54.99 at the Marriott Long Beach self-park. For two hours on Monday afternoon, September 14, its venue page had the 200 Pine Ave. Garage at $8.79.

Vivid Seats, September 18. Four passes, $56 to $82 with fees, for garages and a lot 0.4 to 0.9 miles away.

Distances vary by site. The Hubb was 0.3 miles away on ParkWhiz, a 0.5-mile walk on Vivid Seats and 0.6 miles on SpotHero.

Rideshare and drop-off

• The center publishes no rideshare pickup or drop-off point on the pages we checked.
• Its accessibility page mentions designated drop-off zones but not where they are.
• The free Circuit shuttle runs on demand downtown, Thursday through Sunday, booked in its app.

Getting there by train and bus

The Metro A Line runs between Pomona and Long Beach. Visit Long Beach says to board at the First Street Transit Gallery downtown. No source we checked publishes the walk from there to the halls.

Metro fares are $1.75 a ride. Tap to ride and you never pay more than $5 a day or $18 over seven days. Transfers within two hours are free, round trips excluded. Children under 6 ride free with a paying adult.

Long Beach Transit buses cost $1.25 a ride or $4 for a day pass. Pay with exact change, the TAP app or a tapped credit card. Visit Long Beach says the downtown Passport bus is free Fridays through Sundays, every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Long Beach Transit's own Passport page did not confirm that when we checked.

Accessible parking

• Van-accessible spaces are in every center lot. You need a placard, tabs or license plates.
• They are first come, first served, cannot be reserved and still require payment.
• Some parking areas mean a longer walk. The center suggests drop-off zones but does not say where they are.
• Questions: 562-436-3636, weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Marathon weekend and event-day changes

The Long Beach Marathon puts its start and finish, for more than 28,000 runners, in the Main Parking Lot. The 5K starts at 6:50 a.m. on Saturday, October 10. The marathon starts at 5:30 a.m. and the half at 7 a.m. on Sunday, October 11. The center has not published lot or street closures.

Formula Drift's $35 rate applies October 23 and 24. We found no construction or garage closure notices on the center's pages.

What this guide doesn't recommend

• Leaving and coming back. The $15 rate has no in-and-out privileges.
• Counting on the Main Lot on marathon weekend. The race starts and finishes there.
• Buying resale without checking the address. The September 18 passes were 0.4 to 0.9 miles away.
• Overnight stays or tailgating. The center bans both.
