Many people are interested in finding the closest airport to Regina, SK with YQR only 2.48 miles (4 km) away it makes this airport a very convenient option for travelers.
You can also find the cheapest flights from Regina YQR Airport.
YQR has convenient parking facilities, reasonable prices, and a couple of self-parking options designed for both short and extended stays. Apart from employee parking and rental car parking lot, you can find:
The secure parking area for brief stays is situated immediately in front of the airport terminal building, and you need a minute or two to reach the entrance. It offers over 100 parking stalls, and you can use them if you are picking someone up, seeing them off, or having a meeting at YQR.
We strongly suggest that you stay here no longer than 2 hours — it is created for short stays, and the daily rate is very expensive. During the first 2 hours, the rate is $2 per 30 minutes. After the second hour, passengers pay $4 per 30 minutes until they reach a maximum of $50, which is the daily price for this lot.
The long-term parking structure is located right behind the short-term lot and provides over 1,100 overnight parking spaces. It is very close to the terminal area — after leaving your vehicle, you will need minutes to the entrance. Follow the airport signs along the road that will lead you to the lot.
It is not a covered parking facility, but it is great for oversized vehicles since there is no height clearance. You can pay inside the terminal via cash or major credit cards or at the exit gates, where cash is not accepted. The price for the first hour is $4, after which the hourly parking rate is $2. The maximum daily parking rate is $15 during the first 5 days, after which it is only $7.
Another surface lot is situated several minutes from the YQR terminal, and it is open during peak periods in the winter charter season. This extra lot accommodates 400 vehicles. When the long-term lot is full, parking personnel and signage will direct you to the overflow area. The parking fees are the same as in the long-stay structure: the first hour is $4, every additional hour is $2, and the daily rate is $15 during the first 5 days, after which it is $7.
If you need a parking spot to wait for an arriving passenger’s call, use the free waiting area situated on Regina Avenue entrance road. Once your party has arrived, they can call you to come to the terminal curb for a pickup. There are no time limits, but note that you are not allowed to leave your vehicle unattended at any time.
Handicapped parking stalls are in both Regina Airport parking areas across from the terminal building. A passenger has to own a disabled parking permit or license plate to park there. Handicap parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and the standard parking rates apply.
If you are driving electric vehicles, we recommend that you use one of the EV charging stations in Regina. The airport is about 4 miles away from the city center, so the chargers are not far away.
We compare on- and off-airport Regina International Airport parking fees, thus saving you time and money and making your decision on where to park much easier.
This is not a very large airport, and you cannot find independent off-site parking structures nearby. However, if you are coming from some other city, you can stay in a nearby hotel before or after your flight and get free parking services and airport shuttle bus service. This is called Park Sleep & Fly package, and it is ideal for passengers who live far away from YQR.
Some of the best accommodation options that offer these hotel deals with parking and shuttles are Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Regina and Home Inn and Suites Regina Airport West. Check them out to see if their services and prices meet your requirements.
Off-airport parking lots usually provide the cheapest rates, but you cannot always find them near smaller airports. So, if you are starting your journey at YQR, you can either park at one of the official airport parking structures or use Park Sleep Fly hotel packages.
