Shuttle was really quick. Came in less than 10 minutes from me calling from the airport. Had a decent breakfast. My only disappointment was not being able to do a lunch there. I wanted to do a quick lunch before my flight but the restaurant does not open for lunch.

Very cozy place! Enjoyed our stay there. Very clean rooms, good services, breakfast included and wonderful! Really recommend this place to stay. We’ve spent 4 nights and whole our group enjoyed it

This is an a nice hotel. The rooms are a good side ,

The decor is somewhat outdated , older style but everything is clean and working well. In my opinion, the perks are the warm heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi. It’s outdoors the large breakfast buffet and the large gym that’s area and open 24 hours. there is a McDonald’s Wingstop and some other restaurants directly across the street as well as a pizza shop down the block. Staff is nice. They have baby cribs if needed and they also have laundry facilities walking distance on facility.

Wherever I travel I always try to stay at a BW hotel as they are always of great quality and good value

I am very pleased with this particular hotel. I still do not 100% understand what makes a BW hotel Plus/Premier/Signature etc as sometimes there is hardly any difference

The El Rancho is a Signature collection

Check in is quick, easy, very friendly staff

Parking is free. The rooms are great, usual amenities. I had a very good sleep, the bed was awesome

Breakfast is great as usual, but no waffles!?

SFO is around the corner and the hotel offers a 24/7 shuttle which is great

I will stay again

Very nice hotel, the cleaning staff respected my privacy the entire stay, and the room was wonderful!

Want to sleep on a cloud? That is what the beds here are like, the pillows.. Oh the pillows..

Showers have good pressure and not once did I run out of hot water.

Everything was clean and well kept, the A/C was easily sufficient for the room size.

The only issue was a side window in the bathroom sun room was stuck open meaning th bathroom vented the cool inside air and the noise of outside bled through a lot more.

Overall a very nice stay!

Room clean and bed very comfortable. Shuttle service is great. Only problem was my shower had low low water pressure-not sure if just my building or all we were in building 100.

El Rancho Best Western provides an outstanding service to travelers who need a place to say before flying out and a safe place to leave their vehicle. The staff is very professional, quite friendly, and on the several times we have used the sleep/park & fly service we have never had a single glitch arise. It has an excellent restaurant, clean rooms, and it's right across the street from SFO.

We chose this hotel for the park and fly option. The hotel and rooms are old but clean and well kept. Service was good. Breakfast buffet was real busy. There's a lot of rooms here so the breakfast room can get crowded. Quite area with tons of good restaurants and shopping. One thing I have figured out is you get to test drive your trip supplies and suitcase packing while still in America. So you quickly figure out what you forgot or need. This morning were heading to Walgreens to pick up a few items we forgot. This I believe is a huge plus to this park and fly.

We recommend this Best Western El Rancho Hotel.

It was beautiful, very clean, spacious, and the staff were both helpful and personable. They made me feel comfortable and welcome after a very long drive to be on the area for my neurology appointment which greatly decreased my stress. Thank you.

Always clean without smelling "hotel clean." Comfortable beds. Coffee pot and fridge included. Complementary breakfast from 6:30 -9:30 am. Easy to enter and exit. They are very accommodating. Very safe neighborhood. Great prices!

Such a nice place to stay. Great location to stay, park and fly. Close to airport. Vicky was so helpful at our check-in. So friendly and engaging. She told us about a couple places to eat dinner and everything about parking our car while we're gone. She even set up a ride to the airport the next morning. Thanks for all you did for us. We will stay here again. Room was comfortable and slept well.

I was early so they were busy but they still did the little extra to see if there was a room available. Just a note if you are planning to come early than the 1500 check in time you might have to wait. The room was very nice and spacious and there was a spa bathtub in the room. The breakfast was the usual things you expect and was delicious. Would recommend it for a stay again.

Stayed here for a day while on a layover. It's a pretty standard Best Western, nice and close to the airport. Check in (late evening) was quick and easy, the front desk agent was courteous and polite.

I had a room near the back of the property, which was nice and quiet. The room itself was clean, with a good shower and lots of hot water. The air conditioning was quiet, and need was comfy, but the tabletop USB charger didn't work and the door needed to be nudged open and closed.

Morning breakfast was well done, with a good selection of food available and lots of places to sit.

Checkout was... Underwhelming. Aside from a monotonous greeting, the front desk agent didn't seem interested in doing more than as little as possible. She was unfriendly, didn't ask how my stay was, or even wish me a nice day. After informing her I was checking out, she just took the room cards and said 'ok, you're done'. While it didn't really faze me, it's an incentive to maybe try another hotel next time I'm in the area. First impressions are lasting ones.

Breakfast was a bag containing an apple, bottled water, a warm egg product, a muffin and some kind of oatmeal. Due to food allergies, we were down to an apple and water.

Room was fine. Second bed being in it's own room was nice. Windows don't open. Close to the airport. Call the hotel directly for park n fly.

All of the staff was very accommodating, easy to contact, and friendly. We really appreciated their care and concern in making sure that we had a comfortable room for our family. Anna was amazing, and we felt welcomed from the moment we checked in. Parking was free and convenient to the rooms, and any extra towels or requests from the front desk were always taken care of promptly.

The service here is top notch. It is 5 star attention for 2 star hotel. Also the free breakfast is really good fresh hot egg dishes, sausage, bacon and fresh muffins and other breads, yogurt, fruit. Also the BaRt station is within 10 minute brisk walking distance.

Not a bad place but sort of don't understand all of the rave reviews. Rooms seem clean but definitely very dated and I would describe as "musty." Was able to park right outside my room which is a plus. Can't comment on breakfast since we departed for the airport too early. A little further from airport than I anticipated, 10+ minute drive to rental car return.

Surprisingly good value for money. Much better quality than you’d expect from a 100USD / night motel. Clean, comfortable and good WiFi. Breakfast is basic like all other US motels, but coffee is good and plenty.

Would give 4.5 if I could for the current very reasonable price. Rooms very clean. Staff very nice. A basic hotel/motel to stay for a day or two close to the airport. Nothing to complain about basic amenities. Location is about 30 min away from the city via car/uber, more than an hour taking public transport. Couple of restaurants close by. I know they might be bound by COVID regulations but there were a couple of things that did not really work and that we did not expect to encounter in spring 2022. Restaurant and airport shuttle not operating. The most minimalistic breakfast and vending machines not working.

1 2 3 4 5
Good location, nice hotel. It is a BW but it does not have any obvious indications that it is aside from a small sign at the front entrance. The room was nice, very warm shower. Relatively quiet. Nice breakfast. Note that no shuttle is operating as awaiting update from the owner of the hotel. Taxi from airport to hotel is around $20.00. Not far to walk to nearest Bart station and there is a bus stop just outside the hotel. Parking is chargeable (not sure of costs as we didn’t have a car). This appears to be a very Asian orientated neighbourhood. There is a Safeway grocery store two blocks away, Definitely recommend this hotel if staying in SFO,

Free breakfast was everything for me at this place. It included three types of eggs and bacon, sausage, potatoes and self serve coffee and juice. They did charge me $10/night extra for “overnight parking” which sucks but I guess it covers for breakfast. Also if you’re a light sleeper, train does pass by at night but it didn’t bother me personally. Overall good place for price paid, would stay again

This part of the hotel is aces there is a kitchen-ette-ish has a microwave, sink, and mini-fridge with a table and chairs for a sit down type of situation. There's a huge living room space with a pullout sofa and sofa-chair with a bedroom with two queen sized beds a family of 6 can enjoy comfort and functionality! No problems!

This is a solid hotel. This is the first time I had ever flown into SFO and needed a place close to stay once we landed. Very clean, beautiful architecture, location is very good to get settled in quickly once your plane lands. Peaceful place.

The host is excellent, she knew I was tired, plus had luggage, so she quickly changed my room, it was cozy like home, clean towels with extra tea bags of "Earl Grey" when you need them.

Breakfast, though humble , but filling, with bananas and apples, and to top it off, with 'Quaker's" oatmeal brand.

bread is also available, as well as a classical toaster,

Along with butter and strawberry blueberries jam.

A gym is also available , with equipment to get the workout done.

There was also a pool outside the restaurant, but it was raining heavily.

I wish I was able to check in on time, maybe on the next one.

Travel from GA for a 6night 7day stay enjoyed every min of this stay. Full breakfast was a plus. Kids enjoyed Heated pool & hot tub everyday. In the beginning my family had personal issues which cause a dispute. This hotel was willing to work with us so we wouldn't get kicked out on out 1st night to continue our vacation. I would definitely stay at this location again.

Check in was super fast and staff was very friendly. Josette in particular was wonderful. We were leaving early around 4:30am to go to the airport. She asked if we needed shuttle service but we had our own rental car to return. We asked if they had breakfast to go and she presented a brown paper bag with 2 apples, 2 waters, and 2 granola bars. The hotel is very large and has a spanish Acapulco feel to it. It's a very good hotel for the price, quiet location even though it is located on El Camino Real. Full sized closet, comfy bed. Mini fridge, tiled bathrooms. I asked for an extra blanket and maintenance zoomed across the parking lot at 9pm in his golf cart and placed it in the room before we even got there! He was kind and friendly and courteous.

The service here is impeccable (coming from a person who has also worked for years in upscale hotels in the bay area, take it from me).

We didn't try the pool since it was February and we had to be up early.

I didn't take any pics of the bed since there are many pics already online.

I was impressed with the staff here! They were so accommodating and friendly. The room was clean (minus a couple stains on the carpet) the location is ideal, they're right by the 101, a ton of places to eat as well as a cute little town that you can walk around and feel comfortable. I'm from the east coast and have been to Cali a handful of times and I can say that without a doubt this was my favorite trip thus far. Great hotel, great people. I would return in a heartbeat

My boyfriends surprise V day evening for me was a nice time. I didn't want the stay to end. The restaurant was pricey but the food was good and the free breakfast in the AM made up for the dinners price.

Decent clean rooms, no microwave but does have mini fridge. I had a room at the corner near the train tracks but I honestly never heard it unless the door was open. The AC was loud though.

Breakfast was pretty good, 3 types of egg, bacon, sausage, toast, muffins, fruits, and oatmeal available. Close enough to San fran that you can drive there easily.

They did charge me $15 for overnight parking which I never seen in motels but I guess its a fancier place

This motel is located near San Francisco international airport, but for some reason they (probably temporarily) did not provide a shuttle service to/from the airport. That was the only inconvenience I noticed. Other than that, this motel is good enough to stay a night and sleep well. The room seemed well maintained, cleaned properly, and well air-conditioned. The breakfast was not very special but good enough to start a day. By the way, the front desk was not very kind and friendly, but again, they did their job to say the least and I think acceptable.

The hotel is very well located, as it is only a 5-10 minute drive from SFO Airport by car. The neighbors are a fast food restaurant and the parking here is plenty. The people who work here are friendly and helpful. The rooms are good, and quiet. The sofa was not very comfortable, as was the shower, but everything else was ample.

I was really pleased with my quick SFO stay here. Wanted a reasonably priced hotel. Rooms were very clean. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding. Staff was so nice and helpful. Would stay here again for sure.

1 2 3 4 5
Nice suite, clean and comfortable. Appreciated that the complimentary breakfast included hot food options.

Some have mentioned the noise from the train, In building 2, I never heard a peep but a family member in building 3 did hear and found it annoying.

Bed was comfy and the location was convenient and staff were pleasant and courteous.

Typical budget inn. Location may not be *prime* for people wanting to visit the downtown, but it is not advertised as such so it is no way misleading. In a really good way,

it is extremely close to airport but unfortunately their shuttle service isn’t working due to panorama

Also due to pandora the cafe is closed so the advertised “free breakfast” is a grab and go bag consisting of water bottle, apple, egg bite & muffin. Oatmeal optional. I am grateful they offer this, but when I made the reservation the breakfast was listed as continental. However, I understand their adjustments.

Comfortable walking distance to Trader Joe’s, Safeway, Starbucks and other shops in nearby plaza. Overall, “El Camino Real” is the Main Street in Millbrae. About a 20 minute walk is the Cal-Train station which can take you directly to downtown San Francisco (King st & 4th street).

Although my experience would be deemed as passable and nothing concerning occurred to stop me from returning to this hotel, I would not be opposed to trying other hotels in the area next time.
JAMES Ely
1 2 3 4 5
The hotel was very clean, roomy and I enjoyed my stay. As far as eating goes. Unless you take a taxi or whatever, about all you can find within walking distance are a lot of oriental food restaurants. Had to walk about 8 blocks to find something.
Michael Dexter
1 2 3 4 5
Easy way to make sure you have long term parking and get to the airport on time. Was gone for two weeks. When we returned vehicle was covered with sticky brown substance (soda?) but was intact. Breakfast was fair. Upon return to the airport the hotel phone was down so couldn't call for pickup, had to wait until shuttle arrived- not something you're happy about after traveling 30 hours.

Nice place and big rooms with bargain price in the area. Also lots of space for parking. However, depending on who works at the lobby, you might experience not-so-great staff attitude

I stayed here based on the reviews so here’s mine!

The price was the best for the area and allowed me to rent a car.

I didn’t read the fine print but it’s $15 a night to park which was reasonable but unexpected but my fault.

Free breakfast buffet from 6:30-9:30am. It’s standard eggs, yummy potatoes and yogurt and toast. Saved us a breakfast everyday. $$$

Rooms are dated but clean and beds are comfortable. Shower was amazing and never had an issue with hot water.

Neighbors were fine never heard loud noises.

It’s in a residential area but tons of shops and grocery store and restaurants. Millbrae is a very lovely city.

I will definitely stay here again when I’m back in SFO.

Great place in terms of location, pretty close to the airport. We heard occasional planes throughout the night. There was also a nice bakery and seafood food truck within walking distance. They had a great package deal where you sleep there and leave your car for up to 8 nights. Our car was safe the entire 6 days we left it. The walls in the room were thin and unfortunately we ended up next to people who we could hear their conversation. They also have an odd but I guess understandable policy which allows them to enter your room to check on among other things, "other purposes",... Sounds like a catch all to enter your room whenever for whatever. In all, the price is right for a stay and park, and accept you may not get a decent night sleep, but at least you are in a good location.

Super quaint little Hispanic motel vibe! Everything was fairly clean, the beds were HELLA comfy, fridge in the room and laundry facilities on site (even though they weren’t working at the time). There’s a laundromat across the street and McDonald’s. Safeway and trader joes .5 miles away. NO AIRPORT SHUTTLE though and depending on time of day, ride share can cost between $19-$30. Breakfast is available but I slept in instead haha! The staff is SUPER friendly and let me check in early and check out late bc my flights were all crazy. I would definitely come back but if they can get an airport shuttle service, I’d stay here even more often. It’s a fair price for the stay.

This place is reasonably priced if you wanna drive in, sleep for a night, fly, come back, sleep a night, and fetch your car for the drive home. No nonsense and few frills, I've never had any issues with a room smelling bad or not being clean, and there's a hot tub. However, hot tubs are meant for cold weather, so having it closed in December seems silly. Let me soak out the cold!

Wasn't here but 1 night, but when I come back to this area, I plan to stay here again.

Very accommodating to needs. With a smile and the only person working the desk, some in line were getting impatient, but that is their problem. The line moved quickly.

Disappointed the shuttle and restaurant were closed, but that is due to the mandate by the governor, not them.

Room was clean. Bed comfy. All amenities otherwise in room were in working condition.

I like this hotel I just checked in but it has everything I like!!! Free parking and if A family member visits they don't have to pay for parking! I like outside rooms so u can go right out to your vehicle and not travel thru the whole hotel and lobby it's right outside! Nice friendly staff and places close by to visit. This is the best hotel I found in California so far and definitely will be back!!! It's not a high end hotel u can tell by the price but definitely not dangerous or full or druggies

Very helpful staff. Reasonably comfortable bed and some nice amenities for the price - breakfast buffet in addition to in room coffee/tea, soaps, mini-fridge to store any leftovers or drinks you want to keep in the room (although they have what looks like a good bar on site too), and decent towels. Nice hot water with good pressure.

I've always had Superior service at this Hotel, Everyone is very attentive and the rooms are warm and comfortable, They use good soaps and shampoo and have a breakfast station room where you are served a bag with a fresh egg puff from a bakery delivered fresh every morning a fresh piece of fruit a bottle of water and juice and a fresh cup of coffee a danish as well as a bowl of oatmeal if you request it all included as part of the room booking at no extra cost. As someone who was raised in the hospitality industry to a family who owned restaurants I give this place 5 Stars , I am specifically pleased with Vicky the hotels director of sales who made a point to made sure everything was perfectly accommodating. She is in my opinion the biggest asset to this historical Spanish style resort.

I agree with the reviewer, who said that this hotel is underrated. It was clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, the neighbourhood is clean and safe ( this was especially important for me as a woman travelling alone). It is located near the airport but also very near supermarkets, at least two gas stations ( important if you need to fill up before returning a rental car) and various other stores and restaurants. The whole impression that one gets is that the owner and staff care about the place and the customers.

This hotel is no frills place but a good deal

This hotel feels like an old motor lodge from the 40s or 50s, back in the day when motels were built with beauty because we were all excited about the freedom our cars brought. Unfortunately, most of these "motor hotels" are run down and in bad shape these days, not somewhere you would want to stay. But, the El Rancho is well maintained and beautiful. The rooms are clean, the service is great and the price was very reasonable. Staying at the El Rancho makes you feel as if you are going into the past and can forget the stress of today. I especially liked the retro travel posters in the rooms to finish the touch. We hope to come again.

Great value for what you get. From the front desk to the complimentary breakfast everyone was very friendly and provided excellent service. Vehicle was stored there for 2 weeks and we felt very safe. We would definitely stay here whenever traveling from San Francisco airport.

Nice hotel with shuttle service to San Francisco airport. You can hear the planes but is not annoying. Rooms are clean and big enough.

Breakfast is good and sufficient but plates and cutlery are plastic disposals, but many people just leave the mess on the table. Pity for that part. More personnel during breakfast hours would make it a 5 star

Nothing fancy, but the rooms are clean. They come with free coffee, ironing board, and WiFi. Staff is courteous and helpful. No shuttle to airport at this time. Taxi ride ranges $25-40 one-way. Restaurant is currently closed, but free bagged breakfast is provided.

This place was not at all what I expected. It was pretty charming. It's also far bigger than I expected. All the rooms open to the outside, motel-style. Mine was in a far corner facing away from the parking lot. Picturesque with a flowering bush right outside my door. Only challenge was that, as a single woman traveling alone on business, I was a little nervous walking by the men smoking weed in the parking lot to get to my rather remote part of the complex. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, and it was large enough for one person. Might have been tight with a family. The restaurant/bar was in the center of the complex a few minutes' walk from my room. The bar food was sub-par but the bartender was friendly. Overall, it was a nice place and I would stay again. However next time I will request a room a little closer to the center.

Great option near SFO. Shuttle from/to airport works 24 hours. Rates are honest and, after all, this is a Best Western, so you know what to expect. It's easy to eat nearby and you can also reach several stores in a walking distance. Anyway, for this kind of hotel all you need is a clean room and a shuttle to/from the airport. And that you will find here.

love this hotel! I am kinda stingy when it comes to paying for hotels but I don’t like staying at dumps. This place is GORGEOUS! It’s incredibly beautiful and they have low end (1 queen) & higher end (suites). They have a lot of amenities and the best part? The manger/owner is INCREDIBLY AMAZING! His name is Roy and he is so sweet and so kind and accommodating. STAY HERE!!!!! I love it!!

Review for El Rancho Best Western Hotel in Millbrae, California

I recently stayed at the El Rancho Best Western Hotel in Millbrae, California, and overall, my experience was quite pleasant. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, offering all the amenities you would expect from a reputable hotel. The breakfast was a standout feature, providing a wide variety of delicious options to start the day off right.

However, I do feel it's important to inform potential guests about a significant issue: the parking fee. When booking a room on the hotel's website, you are given a total fee for your stay. Unfortunately, upon arrival, I was surprised with an additional parking fee that was not communicated during the booking process. This unexpected charge felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic, which left a sour taste after an otherwise enjoyable stay.

If you decide to stay here, be prepared for this extra cost, and hopefully, the hotel management will address this issue in the future by being more transparent with their pricing.

I was pleasantly surprised at this hotel. The lobby needs an update but my room was clean, comfortable and close to the airport. The "to go" breakfast was good and helped me until I could eat at the airport. The staff were helpful. They made sure I had a cab to get to the airport ($20.00).

Lovely hotel. Arrived just after midnight and front desk service was excellent. Unfortunately our room smelled. Too tired to deal with so we slept with the window open. Smelly room is not normal for this property.

El Rancho Inn is a great place to start your vacation. It's minutes away from the San Francisco Airport. You can park your car there and have a good night's rest in a clean and comfortable room. Highly recommended!

Very clean rooms. Some new carpet and a microwave in the rooms and I'll give it 5 Stars. Near the railroad crossing so you will hear the whistle when CalTrans passes by.

Hotel is typical of the hotels on El Camino Real. Room was clean but there were some minor maintenance issues that needed attending in the bathroom. Very convenient to SFO which is why I stayed here. There was a small fridge in the room and a Safeway a few blocks away so I was able to easily procure and keep provisions.
