Needed a place to sleep in after a long car drive, this was the cheapest in the area.
The place is very run down, and it took 3 different room’s to find one that had all the necessities in place to allow for that much needed sleep , but despite this the great staff were on point and very friendly and helpful, easily this locations saving grace.
It’s cheap, it’s old and way past it’s prime, but if you need a place to sleep on the cheap by the airport and set your expectations low enough then this place will work out for you. Expect more and it won’t be.
Was a good place to stay and nice staff
And helps you get to airport, very friendly.
I personally wouldn't mind renting here again for the price. The front desk guy was super friendly, and for the price, you get what you paid for.
However if you are like my partner, here is what he commented on:
1) the road looks "off the beaten path".
2) there is a $50 refundable deposit in case there are damages in the morning.
3) no one will deliver except papa John's.
4) we only got one real bath towel for 2 people. The 2nd bath size towel was like an oversized rag, see through. Both towels had dark grease-like stains on them.
5) the cable doesn't work very well. The picture is VERY static-ky. We tried unplug/replug the cable cord and power o
Cord, no change. It only got worse when one our phones got close to the TV.
6) the tub is very old and VERY slippery
7) the tile is slippery as well
8) the bathroom light is a fluorescent light you see in garages that was mounted sideways and taped on each end with blue painters tape.
9) the bar of soap was so thin, it split in half on first use.
10) that night, the fire dept showed up and we had red flashing lights in our window all night .
11) the a/c did not have a knob (missing knob) to adjust the temperature.
PROS: the room did not have a weird odor. And the beds were not rock hard.

Place Come a long way over last few years awesome staff for most part maybe they could possibly decide to provide kinda like a Lyft/Uber/taxi to grocery store n convenient store
The rooms were cheap but they were not the cleanest. Would definitely NOT stay here ever again. 0/10
Paid for parking at the hotel for about two weeks and they were very accommodating with the charges to the dates/times I made. Staff was very polite and friendly
After the hotel I originally screwed me out of reservation and turned out to be much dirtier of a place than they advertised ( I am talking about the EXTENDED STAY AMERICA) I was on a last-minute hunt for place to stay and came across the Carla. While not a pretty place I was taken care of by staff and the room was better than you would expect - as good , if not better than THE EXTENDED STAY AMERICA! I would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in a clean place and save some money.
That place was rough. I sure didn't get a renovated room.
Front desk lady was nice though.
Do not expect a 5 star hotel here. Kinda run down but the price is just about unbeatable. Like I said... Price should be your concern staying here. Not quality.

Just like the other reviews, the staff were very friendly. I am use to staying at Marriotts or what not so I was taken back to the not so modern building/rooms BUT the option to smoke / not smoke was amusing to me. It’s a place to stay for the night, or the weekend. Bang for your buck so you don’t have to sleep in the car. Fine by me. Rating it three because of the smokey hallways and smelt like acidic puked up wine. My partner really loved the atmosphere of it though! I did too overall
The cheap price for the trip we were taking is what had me book this hotel. I was curious to see how it would be next to the airport. No air traffic noise at all. The parking lot looked normal and was decently lit up at night. The lobby was contemporary, but could've used some new paint. Overall it was fine for what it was. The desk clerk was friendly and courteous to the people in my group. The hallways of the hotel smelled of your general mix of smoke and "idk" but it wasn't overwhelming. The rooms though were nice. The ones we had were modern and clean. The beds were comfy and the shower was nice. Only thing I'd critique here is that they missed providing washcloths in both rooms we had. The hotel was quiet and not much happened which was good. For the price, this place is a good stay.
the customer service was better then alot of places we have stayed and staff here were very accommodating and really nice. had some good conversation with them. we have 3 dogs and for most hotels they wont allow that and was super happy they did.
Good Hotel right next to the airport , but no jet noise which is great , it is a two star very basic hotel may be in the same tier as red roof inn or motel 6 but actually better , very clean room I can tell they put much effort into cleaning it and washing linens, if you are looking for a quiet comfortable and safe place and not too expensive , amazingly helpful staff that you can tell they put their heart into it this is a great place, but if you are looking for a luxury hotel for a honeymoon or something it might not be the ideal choice , it will also be great for you if you are in town for work or business and need to save , I will certainly be back .
The only thing good is the price. Incredibly gross building, staff was welcoming but no masks or any type of social distancing in the common areas. Room was clean but looked like it had seen Hell. I would not stay here again. The savings aren't worth the lack of cleanliness.
excellent location, super helpful staff and room is clean and updated it had a nice big flat screen tv and good speed wifi , I will return here on my next trip to roanoke
First and foremost because of the customer service. Second, the room is wonderful. The sheets are clean, it is newly remodeled, the bed is large, they even provide coffee in the morning unlike a lot of hotels nowadays. It is a safe environment and I understand that there may have been some issues in the past but they are definitely working through them period not only that they have even changed their sign in the last few months in response to some of the concerns. Let's give these people a break, give them our business, and help them continue their path . God bless you all and God bless them for giving my dog and a safe place to stay.
The room ceiling has dust from the air conditioner.. Missing a desk chair. No tissues in bathroom. Check-in was easy and friendly..
Had arrived in Roanoke very late in the night, and very easy and only 5 minutes wait for hotel to pick me up from the airport. Very courteous and accommodating. Because it was so late, and a lot of eating place were closed/food delivery service wasn't available that time of night, the hotel manager, was very gracious in offering to take me to anywhere I wanted to get food, and any other staples I may need. Very hospitable staff and stay.
I’m sorry to post a poor review, but the truth is important. I stayed here two weeks ago. Do not recommend at all. Felt unsafe the whole stay. The other reviews are clearly fake since there are only a few of them and are all 5 stars. The pictures are clearly fake as well. The rooms are falling apart, it is smoky, the hotel is just plain sketchy, it has the name “Airport Plaza Hotel” on the outside (so it doesn’t even have the correct name), there are poor stray cats running through the parking lots with no homes. The front desk person was nice but overall it felt like a scene from staying at the motel in the movie ‘Blues Brothers’....
Enjoyed my stay at carla inn and suites. Nice safe location for a low price. Bill made us feel welcome and he was pleasant for conversation. Will definitely be back!
