ROA offers a few surface parking lots very close to the terminal building. All of them provide a safe parking area with numerous self-parking spaces and free 15-minute parking for people coming to pick up a friend or family member. Choose one of the following options:
The public parking area designed for short stays is located just 300 feet from the terminal entrance. This is the perfect choice for those coming to see someone off or pick them up since you can get 15 minutes of free parking. Also, there is no cell phone lot where you can park and wait.
This is not a covered parking facility, and oversized vehicles can easily enter the area. We suggest not staying here longer than a couple of hours. After the first 15 minutes, passengers pay $1 for 16-30 minutes of parking, and then $1 for each additional half an hour. The maximum daily parking rate in the short-term parking structure is $16.
The long-term area is adjacent to the short-term one, which means that the parking spots for extended stays are also close to the terminal building. You will need a few minutes to reach the airport’s entrance. Because of this, a free shuttle service stopped operating several years ago.
If you need assistance getting to/from the terminal, feel free to call 540-362-0630. Fifteen minutes of free parking are available in this structure, too. The hourly parking rates are the same, and you pay $1 for 16-30 minutes of parking, and then $1 for each additional half an hour. The maximum rate, however, is cheaper — $9 per day.
Even though the overflow parking structures are usually far from the terminal, this is not the case at ROA. There, you can find the overflow lot just across the street from the terminal, and you do not even need a shuttle bus service to take you back and forth. The first 15 minutes are complimentary.
To enter this lot, go around the loop in front of the terminal, cross Aviation Drive at the stoplight, and then pull into the overnight parking area. There is a crosswalk close to the terminal that will make your walk easy and quick. The rates are the same as for long-term parking. All major credit cards are accepted.
