The center's underground garage: P1 and P2

The center, at 777 NE Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, is owned and operated by Metro. Its parking and directions page lists 800 underground spaces, 400 per level on the center's map. Exits: I-5 North, Exit 302A (Rose Quarter); I-84 West, Exit 1 (Lloyd Boulevard).

• Entrances: NE Lloyd Blvd (P1) or NE First Avenue (P2).
• Clearance: 7 feet on P1, 9 feet on P2.
• Rates: $15 for up to 18 hours, no in-and-out privileges; over 18 hours, additional fees apply; event days, a dynamic $15 to $25 at entry. No hourly rate is published.
• Hours: generally opens daily at 6:00 a.m. Overnight parking is prohibited.
• Payment: cashless. Booths take only credit and debit cards and touchless payment; the south Ginkoberry entrance kiosk takes cash and credit card.
• EV charging: 4 stations, per the sustainability page. Level, network, cost and location are not published.
• Accessible spaces: 10 on P1 and 11 on P2, first come, first served (accessibility page).
• Oversized vehicles: no RVs, campers, trucks with trailers or similar.
• Availability: not guaranteed, and no reservation seller or link appears on the center's pages.
• Motorcycles and bikes: motorcycles pay regular rates. Bicycle parking is free in all areas.

Lots and garages on the center's own map

The center's parking area map, dated September 9, 2025 on the parking page, numbers five facilities beyond its garage: Diamond Lot, 80 spaces; Hoyt Lot, 37; Liberty Centre Garage, 575; Moda Center Garage, 1,000, marked subject to availability; and Hassalo Lot, no count. The center does not operate them and publishes no rates.

For the Moda Center garages, the Rose Quarter's directions page gives counts and rules, not dollar rates. The Garden Garage has 1,038 spaces, including 24 accessible. The East and West garages clear 8 feet 2 inches; the Garden and Annex garages, 6 feet 8 inches. Cashiers accept only cards, tap to pay or pre-paid passes.

Street meters and the Lloyd Event District

The center counts 566 metered spaces within three blocks. The city's event district page, last updated August 24, 2026, raises the Lloyd Event District rate from $1.80 an hour to $5.40 an hour when an event is expected to draw over 10,000 people. Its September 2026 dates:

• Thursday, September 17: evening event, 5 to 10 p.m.
• Saturday, September 19: all-day event, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Tuesday, September 22: evening event.
• Saturday, September 26: evening event.

Upcoming events at the center

The center's event calendar listed 110 events. Attendance is not published.

Independent lots on ParkWhiz and SpotHero

Neither marketplace lists the center's garage. ParkWhiz's venue page lists AAHA CON 2026 Saturday and Life Surge Portland for September 19. Its AAHA CON Saturday list ran $5 to $98: Liberty Centre Garage, 657 NE Oregon St, 0.2 miles, $5; 916 NE Grand, at 914 NE Grand Ave, 0.2 miles, $30; Lloyd Surface Lot, 1260 NE 7th Ave, 0.3 miles, $20; Hassalo on 8th Garage, 1065 NE 9th Ave, 0.3 miles, $22; Alder Street Garage, 0.9 miles, $98.

SpotHero listed Life Surge Portland for September 19 from $6.99 to $15.99: Lloyd Center Tower Lot, 1260 NE 7th Ave, 0.5 miles, $6.99; a lot at 914 NE Grand Ave, 0.4 miles, $8.99; and Lot EP81, 298 NE Lloyd Blvd, 0.2 miles, $11.49. The same addresses differ by app.

Drop-off zones and rideshare

• Drop-off and pick-up zones are adjacent to the center on NE Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd and Holladay Street.
• No rideshare-specific zone is published. The center tells riders to search online for their preferred option.
• The accessibility page describes front driveway loading and unloading zones for shuttle buses and taxis.

MAX, streetcar and bus

TriMet's station list puts the Convention Center station at NE Holladay and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard with two lines, MAX Blue and MAX Red. Stop ID 8376 heads to Portland City Center, Beaverton or Hillsboro; Stop ID 8341 to Gresham, Clackamas Town Center or the airport. The center says MAX stops 300 times a day near its front door.

One conflict we could not resolve. The direction text for Stop ID 8341 names Clackamas Town Center, but the station list and the stop page list only Blue and Red here, and TriMet's Green Line schedule says that line serves between Clackamas Town Center and Gateway Transit Center.

TriMet fares: adult 2.5-hour fare $2.80, or $5.60 in a day; Honored Citizen and Youth $1.40. The Portland Streetcar A Loop stops at NE MLK and Hoyt/Convention Center every 15 minutes; a streetcar-only 2.5-hour fare is $2.00, and TriMet fares are valid on it. Bus Line 6 also stops at NE MLK and Holladay.

Accessible parking

• 10 accessible spaces on P1 and 11 on P2, first come, first served.
• The Rose Quarter's Garden Garage includes 24 accessible spaces and clears 6 feet 8 inches.

I-5 Rose Quarter closure, September 11 to early October

The center's pages carried no construction notice on September 14, and the city lists its NE Holladay Street Improvements as completed. ODOT's I-5 Rose Quarter page says I-5 southbound is closed between I-405 and I-84 at all hours from September 11 to early October, with one lane maintained from the I-405 split to the Broadway/Weidler off-ramp to serve the Moda Center and the Oregon Convention Center. The sidewalk on the south side of NE Oregon St is closed 24 hours a day from September 14 to 25.

What this guide doesn't recommend

• Leaving and coming back on one $15 ticket. No in-and-out privileges.
• Bringing an RV, camper or trailer. The garage does not accommodate them.
• Treating the garage as guaranteed. Not guaranteed, and no app sells it.
• Feeding a meter at $1.80 on September 17, 19, 22 or 26. It is $5.40 an hour.
• Waiting for a rideshare at a marked zone. None is published.
