Lumen Field Parking Guide

Updated for current event-night routing and booking paths.

Lumen Field has roughly 3,100 on-site parking spaces and three pro teams competing for them – the Seahawks, the Sounders, and the Seattle Reign. The thing most guides never say plainly is that on an NFL Sunday, essentially none of those on-site spaces are for sale to you. Here is what you can actually book, what it costs, and the one prepaid pass the stadium will turn away at the gate.

Can you actually park on-site for a Seahawks game?

No – not as a single-game buyer. There are exactly two lots physically connected to the stadium, and both are sold out for the season before it starts:

  • Lumen Field Parking Garage – 300 S Royal Brougham Way, on the south side, attached to the Lumen Field Event Center. Indoor, with elevators at the north and south ends.
  • North Lot – 521 Stadium Pl S, street-level surface lot on the north side. The only option for oversized vehicles taller than 8′3″.

The Seahawks state it directly: both are “presold on a season basis. Parking on a single game basis in these lots is not available and only pass-holders are permitted on gameday.” Guides that quote you an on-site game-day rate are describing something you cannot buy. Non-NFL events are different – for concerts, Sounders and Reign matches, check the event's own page on LumenField.com, which shows a “buy now” link when prepurchase is available.

The prepaid pass that gets rejected at the gate

Straight from the stadium's own parking page, repeated on the Seahawks site: “StubHub parking passes will NOT be accepted at the Lumen Field Garage.” It is the single most expensive mistake available here – you arrive holding a pass you paid for and get turned away with no on-site alternative to buy. Check which marketplace a pass originates from before you buy, and match it to the lot it claims to cover.

Third-party guides put the practical range at roughly $20–$75 per event depending on lot and how early you book, with neighborhood lots at the lower end. Treat those as market observations, not posted rates – the stadium publishes prices per event, not as a fixed card.

Lot hours, oversized vehicles and accessible parking

Both on-site lots open at 6:00 a.m. on event days and close two hours after the event. No overnight parking and no RV parking, at either one. Oversized vehicles above 8′3″ can only be accommodated in the North Lot.

The accessibility detail worth knowing: a state-issued disabled placard is required, and because both adjacent lots are sold out seasonally, Union Station Garage on 4th Ave is the realistic option – the elevator at 4th Ave & Weller Street Overpass reaches the North Lot without stairs. For anything unusual, the stadium's parking team takes email at [email protected].

Three teams, not one: the cheap nights at Lumen Field

Lumen Field is home to the Seahawks (NFL), Sounders FC (MLS) and Seattle Reign (NWSL) – and parking demand is nothing alike across them. NWSL and midweek MLS dates draw a fraction of an NFL Sunday, which is when prepurchase is likeliest to actually be available on the venue's own event pages. If you want to learn the approach and the exits before spending Seahawks money, a Reign match is the cheapest classroom in Seattle.

The Event Center adds a second demand pattern most parking guides miss entirely: the Seattle Boat Show and the Seattle Home and Garden Show both run there in February and both sell parking. Monster Jam lands Sep 19.

Getting out: why locals take the train

The stadium sits in SoDo at the junction of I-5 and I-90, which sounds convenient and behaves like the opposite when 68,000 people leave at once. Link light rail's Stadium Station is directly adjacent, and it is consistently the fastest way out – no lot queue, no on-ramp merge. Sounder commuter rail serves game days from the north and south lines.

If you are driving, the two habits that help most: park facing your exit, and if you are calling a rideshare, walk several blocks north into Pioneer Square or east into the International District before requesting. Pickup right at the stadium means sitting in the same jam as everyone else, at surge pricing.

Frequently asked questions

How much is parking at Lumen Field?
The stadium prices parking per event rather than by a fixed card. Practical range is about $20–$75 depending on lot and timing; resale passes average $72.96. Both on-site lots are season-pass only for Seahawks games.

Can I buy Lumen Field parking on game day?
Not in the two on-site lots for a Seahawks game – those are pass-holder only. Use SpotHero, the Union Station or Metro garages, or resale.

What time do the lots open?
6:00 a.m. on event days, closing two hours after the event ends.

Are StubHub parking passes accepted?
Not at the Lumen Field Garage – the stadium states this explicitly. Check your pass source before buying.

Where should I park for a Sounders or Reign match?
Check the specific event page on LumenField.com – when prepurchase is offered, a “buy now” link appears in the event description. These matches have more availability than NFL games.

Is there RV or oversized parking?
No overnight or RV parking. Vehicles above 8′3″ are accommodated only in the North Lot.

What's the best way to get to Lumen Field without driving?
Link light rail to Stadium Station, which is adjacent to the stadium. Sounder commuter rail also runs on event days.
