Updated for current event-night routing and booking paths.
Levi's Stadium runs the NFL's strictest parking system, and nobody plans for the core rule: you don't choose your space. An attendant assigns the next empty stall, and lots fill back-to-front. That kills the stock advice – "park near the exit" – leaving one real decision: which of the 21 lots you buy, since each is tied to one freeway.
The 49ers' FAQ says "Red, Blue, and Green Lot 1 are all sold out" – the three closest lots. The rest runs $58.75 to $93.95, all cashless. The city's own stadium FAQ still quotes "$40-$50," a 2014 leftover.
| Option | Price | Walk/ride | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Green Lot 8 | $58.75 | Freedom Circle | Cheapest official lot, no tailgating |
| Blue Lots 3 and 4 | $82.20 | Gate C | Both ban tailgating |
| Yellow Lot 5 | $93.95 | Gate F structure | Priciest standard |
| Modesto Lot, 3200 Patrick Henry | $34.80 | 1.0 mile walk | Book ahead |
| Zanker Rd park-and-ride + VTA | $16.09 + $5.00 | 2 min to light rail | 6′8″ height cap |
| ACE event train | $25 round trip | 0.3 mi to gate | Non-refundable |
An attendant assigns "the next available empty space," and "the spaces farthest from the parking lot entry are filled first." Arriving early buys the deepest row, not one near the exit. Your one lever: park "by pulling into the spot or backing in for an easier exit."
US-101: Pink 4 and 5, Blue 2 and 3, Green 1, 6 and 8. CA-237: Red 1, 2, 7 and VIP, Blue 5 and 6, all Yellow lots. Lawrence Expressway: Blue 1, Blue 4, RV Blue. That mapping is also your exit: Santa Clara closes Tasman Drive at 1:30 a.m. and shuts Great America Parkway northbound from 101 and southbound from 237, running "counterflow… to assist with exiting the lots." Fans report over an hour from whistle to open road, blaming surface streets.
Open flame is permitted in nine of the 21 lots: Red 1, Red VIP, Pink 4 and 5, Blue 1, 2 and 5, Green 1 and RV Blue. It's banned in Red 2 and 7, Blue 3, 4 and 6, Green 6 and 8, all Yellow lots and – counter-intuitively – the RV Green Lot. Canopies cap at 8′×8′, glass is banned in any lot, and tailgating ends at kickoff.
VTA's Orange and Green lines reach Great America Station by Gate A: $2.50 a ride, or a $5.00 8-hour pass sold only at platform machines; extra return runs one hour. There is no Caltrain gameday shuttle – transfer to the Orange Line at Mountain View, $8.50 from San Francisco versus $10.75 to Santa Clara. Rideshare pickup is Red Lot 7, drop-off the bus stop south of Great America Parkway. Accessible parking is Red Lot 1 only, needing a DMV placard and a paid pass.
Home games: Dolphins Sep 20, Cardinals Sep 27, Broncos Oct 4, Commanders Oct 19, Raiders Nov 8, Seahawks Nov 29, Rams Dec 13, Eagles Jan 3. Week 1 is in Melbourne, so Sep 20 is the true home opener. Resale sites also list a Bruno Mars pass for Wed Nov 11 – a date on no official source; the venue calendar shows only Oct 10 and 11.
