Lambeau Field seats 81,441 people and its own lots hold roughly 3,000 cars. No deck, no parking district, no rail line. What fills the gap is a residential street grid plus an ordinance that suspends Green Bay's normal ban on parking a car on somebody's lawn, one day at a time.
Because there is nothing to pay for. The Packers say it flatly: "All parking spaces in the lots surrounding Lambeau Field are sold out to holders of season parking passes." Gameday parking is cashless at $50, but that price only applies if you hold a pass. Two exceptions: non-reserved $50 accessible parking, first-come in Lot 4 off Lombardi Avenue and Lot 7 off Valley View Road with a placard; and a limited run of passes for Lot 15 in Titletown, sold on Ticketmaster – where tailgating is banned, which is why it is still available.
On an ordinary day in Green Bay, parking on your own lawn is a violation: vehicles must sit on a hard surface. On home gamedays that rule switches off: "By ordinance, parking on the grass is allowed City-wide on the day of home Packer games until midnight." That is why thousands of households stand at the curb with hand-lettered signs on Sunday morning: written policy, not tolerated informality.
Prices run on a distance gradient. A 2024 Green Bay Press-Gazette survey walked it street by street: $50 on South Ridge Road nearest the stadium, $40 a few houses south by the Lot 10 entrance, then $35 and $30 in quick succession, $25–$30 on Valley View Road and Blue Ridge Drive, $20 west of Orrie Lane. Read that as the shape of the market, not this season's menu.
The line that trips visitors: homeowners can sell their yard and driveway, not the street. "On-street parking is for public use and cannot be reserved or sold by residents," and coning off a curb space is illegal under Green Bay Municipal Code 34-11. Free street parking is legal – stay 10 feet from hydrants, 15 from crosswalks, 4 from driveways, and clear any street signed NO PARKING DAY OF PACKER GAME four hours out.
Aggregators still quote "$25 or $30 for cars, $60 for bus or RV" for the reservable lots nearby. That comes from a Packers press release dated August 18, 2003. The live 2026 price through PMI's Ticket Star channel is $50 per car, $155 for RVs, buses and limos. A page quoting $60 for an RV is off by $95 and two decades.

PMI sells parking in the Resch Center complex directly across Oneida Street, on sale for the full 2026 slate from the August 28 preseason game through the January 9 finale. It beats the stadium lots on the two things tailgaters care about: lots open six hours before kickoff rather than four, and tailgating is allowed. Enter from Ashland Avenue to westbound Lombardi, not Oneida Street, which closes four hours out. And Armed Forces Drive, the old Blue Lot entrance, shuts two hours before kickoff until two hours after the game.
In any Packers-operated lot your setup must fit the 9-by-6-foot strip directly behind your vehicle, and your car must fit a 9x18 stall – which is why RVs go to PMI. Charcoal and propane grills are fine, adult-supervised; wood fires and turkey fryers are banned outright. Tailgating stops at kickoff, not after it. No ticket, no problem: the Johnsonville Tailgate Village in the east lot outside the Oneida Nation Gate is free and open to the public, opening four hours out. Courtesy shuttle carts for limited-mobility guests circulate lots 1 and 3–7 from three hours out until 45 minutes after the whistle.
Four routes run free every home gameday, every 30 minutes: Lambeau Leap (Route 31) from the downtown Transit Center, about 22 minutes; QB Sneak (Route 30) from Voyager & Kepler via East Town Mall, 40; Quick Slant (Route 36) from Reid & 4th in De Pere, 37; Cheesehead (Route 29) from Austin Straubel Airport via the Ramada Way hotels, 39.
Now the discrepancy. The Packers' parking page says routes "begin five hours before kickoff and run for approximately three hours following the game" – recycled from the 2011 launch announcement. The team's own gameday page and Metro's 2026 brochure say otherwise: service begins four hours before kickoff and the last inbound bus leaves an hour before kickoff. For a noon game the first bus goes at 8:00 a.m., the last inbound at 11:00 a.m., and the last bus out of Lambeau leaves at 4:30 p.m. For a 3:25 game, 7:30 p.m.; for a 7:00–7:20 game, 11:30 p.m. You board post-game on Lombardi Avenue, north of the Atrium. Plan on an hour after the whistle, not three.
Oneida Street closes between Lombardi Avenue and Mike McCarthy Way from four hours before kickoff until two hours after the game, and Lombardi closes from Ridge Road to Oneida at kickoff. Then three streets flip one-way: Mike McCarthy Way eastbound to Ashland Avenue, Oneida Street northbound to West Mason, Ridge Road northbound from Morris Avenue to West Mason. Coming in, the stadium hangs off Exit 167 (Lombardi Avenue) on Highway 41, 1.5 miles east. That is the quiet argument for a yard south or west of the stadium: you leave on a street that never flips one-way.
Three of the last four 2026 home dates fall in December and January, so the $20 yard eight blocks out is a fine trade in September and a different proposition at 10 degrees. Two details most guides miss: Lambeau permits battery-operated heated clothing for cold-weather games, and blankets come in if carried loosely. Everything inside is cashless; yard parking is cash-first, so carry both.
Nine home dates, verified against the official gameday transit schedule: Falcons Sept. 24 (7:15 p.m.), Bears Oct. 11 (3:25), Cowboys Oct. 18 (7:20), Panthers Oct. 29 (7:15), Vikings Nov. 15 (noon), Bills Dec. 13 (7:20), Dolphins Dec. 20 (noon), Texans Jan. 4 (7:15), Lions Jan. 9 or 10 TBD; several are flex candidates. The non-Packers date that matters: Wisconsin vs. Notre Dame, Sunday Sept. 6, 6:30 p.m. CT, confirmed on Wisconsin's official schedule with a Ticketmaster parking add-on. Same neighborhood, same ordinance, same yards – but season passes do not apply, so more stadium lot inventory reaches the public.
