The Penn Museum is situated at 3260 South St, Philadelphia, PA 19104, and its business hours vary according to the day.

  • Tuesday–Sunday: 10 AM to 5 PM
  • First Wednesdays: 10 AM to 8 PM

The building is closed on Mondays and major holidays.

Penn Museum Parking Garage & Fees

The museum’s garage is placed next to the museum, at the corner of South St. and Convention Ave. The multi-level facility offers limited accessible parking spots and EV charging stations obtainable on a first-come, first-served basis. We suggest that you arrive by 7:30 AM since the garage fills up early.

Parking fees may increase during the annual Penn Relays and other special events; check the posted signs before entering. Only credit cards are accepted.

Bus Parking Availability 

Since the height restriction in the Penn Museum parking garage is 6’7” and not suitable for oversized vehicles, the museum offers the following alternatives:

  • Campus Park & Ride at 1600 Warfield St. is around 1.5 miles from the Penn Museum and provides shuttles to 34th and Spruce Street. The fee is $25/day for school buses and $50/day for motor coaches. Visitors may reserve a parking spot at 215-413-2300 or info@campusparkandride.com.
  • Callowhill Bus Center at 114 Callowhill St. is a short drive away from the museum. The daily parking rate is $20, and there’s an additional $10 fee for those who want to book overnight parking. Take Public Transit to the Museum

SEPTA’s trolley lines 13, 34, and 36 stop at 33rd Street Station and 37th Street Station; both are within a 10-minute walking distance of the museum. Additionally, several bus stops are available around the Penn Museum. The 33rd St. & Spruce St. bus stop is served by Routes 30, 42, and 49. Route 21 picks up and drops off at the 33rd St. & Walnut St. stop, while Route 40 stops right in front of the museum. The SEPTA cash fare is $2.50.

The former University City Station, now called Penn Medicine Station, is across the street from the museum garage and is served by the following rail lines.
