Parking at Detroit Institute of Arts
The cost of daily parking at the DIA is $7, and you can use both cash and credit cards as payment.
While bicycle racks are placed at several locations near the entrances, the Museum Parking Lot is behind the building and accessible from John R Street. See the DIA Detroit parking entrance in the following picture.
Nearby Metered Spots
Metered parking spots are available on the streets around the DIA, and the time limit is two hours. The hourly rate is $1, and parking is enforced from 7 AM to 10 PM, Monday through Saturday. Use the Park Detroit app to pay easily and extend your stay remotely if necessary. The parking zone is 202. Read the signs and park properly to avoid receiving a Detroit parking ticket.

Public Transportation Options
Taking a public bus or the Q-Line instead of driving is a good and cost-effective alternative. The Q-Line runs from Grand Boulevard to Congress Street and stops at the Ferry Street station, which is a 3-minute walk from the DIA. The 004 (Woodward) bus also picks up and drops off in front of the Institute, and transfers to this line are available downtown and at the State Fair Transit Center. A few other buses make stops on the streets around the facility, such as 851, 562, and 461. The bus fare is $1.50.
