Denver Art Museum Parking Guide

Last Updated on December 3, 2022 by Usama

Apart from government buildings and a 12-acre park, the Civic Center offers a huge and diverse art collection based in the Denver Art Museum. The DAM is among the largest art museums in the region with over 70,000 works of art. Whether you’re a resident or tourist, finding a suitable parking spot without getting a Denver parking ticket might be tough. That’s why the Parking Access team looked into all Denver Art Museum parking options and created the guide that will help you plan your visit down to the smallest detail. Discover the DAM ticket prices, short-term parking rates, alternatives, and useful tips!

Unlike many major art museums, such as The Met, the Denver Art Museum has reasonably-priced general admission prices. It also offers discounted rates for all residents of Colorado. You can purchase your ticket online up to four weeks in advance—here are the prices:

Denver Art Museum Parking Options

Parking for Denver Art Museum visitors is available near both Hamilton and Martin buildings, although the Martin building is temporarily closed due to renovations. The Cultural Center Garage is the most convenient parking service, while the Denver Public Library offers metered parking spots only. Parking meters have a limit of one or two hours and charge $1 per hour. Check the map below for precise locations and then read all about the garage parking rates and other options in the area.

Cultural Center Garage Parking

The Cultural Center Complex Garage is within a 4-minute walk of the DAM and provides plenty of covered parking spots. The entrance is situated on 12th Avenue between Broadway Street and Acoma Street. The public parking facility is open from 4 AM to 11 PM but extends the hours for special events.

Event parking rates vary from $5 to $12 per hour, while the daily parking rates on non-event days are as follows:

Duration Parking Rate
1-2 hours $3
2-5 hours $6
5-12 hours  $10

In addition to standard parking spaces, the garage offers electric vehicle charging stations, which are placed on the third level. Charging at these stations is free as long as you pay the admission to the garage.

Accessible Parking

Handicapped parking for the Denver Art Museum visitors is available on the second level of the Cultural Center Complex Garage. All spots are obtainable on a first-come, first-served basis. Any guest using an ADA spot needs to own and display a disabled parking permit, placard, or license plate. General parking rates apply.

Parking Near the Denver Art Museum

In addition to the Denver Art Museum parking garage on 12th Avenue, you have plenty of downtown parking options. Most parking lots and garages offer similar or slightly higher rates than the garage, but we found a few nearby facilities with lower prices. The listed car parking prices apply after five hours of parking.

Parking Area Address Parking Cost
Art Garage Parking 1200 Lincoln Street $5.00
Metro Parking Garage 1042 broadway $5.00
Outdoor Lot 1120 N. Bannock Street $5.75
Denver Justice Center Garage 1391 Delaware Street $6.00

All Denver parking areas are 5 to 10 minutes away from the DAM. To discover additional city parking services, feel free to use sites like SpotHero or ParkWhiz.

Transportation to the Museum

If searching for a way to avoid dealing with traffic and parking procedures, think about using public transit. The RTD allows you to get to the museum from any place within the metro area. The closest stop is a short walk away, and a local 3-hour pass is only $3. The Regional Transportation District also offers the Free MallRide that stops on every block between the Civic Center Station and Union Station. Here’s the map of the route:
