Located in downtown Dallas, this art museum is easily accessible by car and public transport. Our updated guide will take you through all the Dallas Museum of Art parking options, including the main garage, on-street parking availability, and top off-site structures. You’ll discover the daily and hourly costs at all locations and compare them to find the most convenient space. Additionally, we’ll provide info about public transportation, which is an excellent alternate option.
DMA Hours & Admission
The museum is closed on Mondays. On other days, its operating hours are from 11 AM to 5 PM (except Fridays, when it’s open until 9 PM). The DMA offers free general admission to all visitors and members. Walk-ups are accepted, but the DMA highly recommends advanced ticket reservations.
The address for driving directions is 1717 N Harwood St, Dallas, TX 75201.
Parking at the Dallas Museum of Art
While bike racks are at the corner of Ross Avenue and Harwood Street, the DMA underground parking garage is placed off Harwood St. It’s open daily from 10 AM to 9 PM, but the time may vary on special event days.
Car parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis for $15 per vehicle or free of charge for DMA members. The garage offers 400 spots, so visitors usually have no trouble finding a convenient one. All major credit cards are accepted, and you can pay on the museum’s Level 1 or at one of the two pay machines at the garage exit lanes.
ADA Spots
The Dallas Museum of Art parking garage also offers accessible parking spaces for patrons with appropriate placards or license plates. ADA stalls are located on Levels P1, P2, and P3. Contact the DMA at guestservices@DMA.org for additional info or assistance.
Park on the Street
Parking your vehicle on N. Harwood St. or another street in the vicinity is quite a practical alternative. Downtown meters are in effect between 7 AM and 6 PM, and the cost is $2 per hour at most locations. Time limits differ according to the street, so be sure to read the posted signs and rules to evade getting a Dallas parking ticket.

Taking Public Transportation
Public transit is a perfect alternative for those who live or stay in the city. St. Paul Station and Pearl/Arts District Station are within easy walking distance of the DMA’s Ross Avenue entrance. Both are served by the DART Blue, Green, Orange, and Red Lines, and a local day pass is $6.
Alternatively, you can take a DART bus 239, 306, or 378 to Ross Avenue; the stop is just a minute away from the museum. The bus cash fare is $2.50.
