The Museum of Science in Boston is conveniently placed on a parcel of land stretching across the Charles River, a quick drive from downtown. It’s not just a science museum but also an indoor zoo with several hundreds of interactive exhibits and shows. If you’re planning a visit to the MoS, we’ll make it easy for you to find and pay for parking at or near the facility. This guide will provide up-to-date information on the Boston Museum of Science parking fees, additional services, and nearby alternatives. You’ll also read about the admission prices and public transportation services.

If driving to the MoS for the first time, use this address for driving directions: 1 Museum Of Science Driveway, Boston, MA 02114.

Tickets to the Boston Museum of Science

Exhibit halls are open from 9 AM to 5 PM. All visitors, except members, must purchase timed-entry tickets either online or by calling 617-723-2500. Museum members enter at no cost, while other guests pay the following Boston Museum of Science admission rates:

Adult $29
Senior (60+) $25
Child (3-11) $24
Child (Under 3) Free

If you wish to catch a show or special exhibit, purchase your ticket along with general admission to get a discounted rate. The additional charge varies according to the show, but it’s approximately $6.

How To Save Money on Admission Tickets

Tourists who plan to check out other city attractions should purchase a Boston CityPASS to save up to 50%. For $64, you can visit the MoS, New England Aquarium, and two other popular locations. Aside from money, you’ll also save plenty of time since you won’t have to wait in long lines to purchase each ticket.

The Museum of Science has its four-level garage offering approximately 850 covered parking spaces and Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations. It opens at 5:30 AM and closes at 11 PM Sunday through Thursday or midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Since spots are obtainable on a first-come, first-served basis, we suggest that you arrive before 10:30 AM or after 3 PM to find a convenient stall easily.

It might be hard to find convenient on-street parking near the Museum of Science, but you can give it a go. If you do come across an available spot, read the signs carefully to avoid pricey Boston parking tickets. Depending on the location, rates vary from $2.50 to $3.75 per hour.

Taking Public Transportation to the Museum

Public transit is the best alternative to parking, especially during vacation weeks, weekends, or daily peak hours. The Science Park station is located a 5-minute walk from the MoS and served by MBTA shuttles during the Green Line Extension period.
