Tampa International Airport runs three parking garages, and the airport's own booking site is the place to reserve them. The Economy Garage costs up to $22 per 24 hours, the Long Term Garage $26 and the Short Term Garage $32, tax included, and the first hour is free in all three. The airport says booking online is always cheaper than paying at the gate and charges no booking fee. For October 20 to 27, the only lot ParkingAccess lists near TPA was sold out and the hotel packages had no rooms, so this page points you to the airport.
- Cheapest: Economy Garage, up to $22 per 24 hours, with the SkyConnect train to the Main Terminal.
- Walk in: Long Term Garage, up to $26, moving walkways on Level 4.
- Closest: Short Term Garage, up to $32, on Levels 4 to 9 directly above the Main Terminal.

Tampa International's three garages and their rates
Each TPA garage is covered, and Economy also has a surface lot. All three charge by the hour up to a daily maximum, tax included. The Economy Garage is the cheapest at $5 an hour up to $22; the Long Term and Short Term garages charge $8 an hour, up to $26 and $32.

For 8 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, to 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, the Economy Garage tops out at $176 at drive-up rates, $80 less than the Short Term Garage. Booking online should cost less: the airport says online is always cheaper.

Booking a TPA garage on the airport's site
Reserve at park.tampaairport.com up to 365 days ahead and no later than 24 hours before you park. A booking guarantees a space in the garage you chose, not a numbered spot, for up to 45 days, with no administrative fee and tax included.
- Getting in: scan the QR code in your confirmation email at the entry ticket machine. Any lane works except the SunPass lane, on the way in and out.
- Changes: amend more than 24 hours before arrival. Cancel more than 24 hours ahead for a full refund; inside 24 hours you are charged 50% of the booking.
- Staying longer: you pay the extra time when you exit. A shorter stay isn't refunded.
- Payment: credit or debit card online. SunPass Plus can't be used to book online.
- Discounts: the airport says pre-booking can bring special discounts and promotions, and its booking form has a promo code box.
Riding the SkyConnect from the Economy Garage
From any level of the Economy Garage, take the elevator down to Level 1 and follow the moving walkway to the SkyConnect station. Trains run 24 hours a day and arrive roughly every two minutes, less often overnight.
The train ride itself takes about 3 minutes, but the airport's booking site budgets 12 minutes from the Economy Garage to the Main Terminal and asks Economy parkers to allow an extra 30 minutes before their flight. The same train continues to the Rental Car Center, under five minutes from the Main Terminal including the Economy stop.
What we checked at TPA on October 5
We ran the same trip, October 20 to 27, against every option. The airport's three garages all had posted rates; ParkingAccess's one listed TPA lot, Westshore Grand TPA Airport Parking, showed sold out, and all four hotel-and-parking packages showed no room types for those dates. We also found the airport quoting two travel times for the Economy Garage, 3 minutes in its parking article and 12 minutes in its booking FAQ: the first is the train ride, the second is the trip from car to terminal.
Method: totals use the airport's posted hourly rates and daily maximums. We did not submit the airport's online booking form, so this page shows no online prices.
Picking someone up at TPA
Use the free Cell Phone Waiting Lot, reached directly from George J. Bean Parkway. It has accessible spaces, EV charging and restrooms.
If you park in a garage instead, the first hour is free in all three.
EV charging, accessible parking and help in TPA's garages
EV charging is free in all of TPA's on-airport garages, and accessible spaces are on every garage level and next to the elevators in the Economy Garage, available 24 hours a day.
- Car won't start or a flat tire: call the parking operator at (813) 870-8791, or use the Assistance Phone at the nearest elevator.
- Damage or theft: the airport says it isn't responsible; report it to the Airport Police at (813) 870-8760.

What ParkingAccess lists near TPA
ParkingAccess lists A1 Express Airport Parking, Memorial Airport Parking, Premier Parking and Westshore Grand TPA Airport Parking near Tampa, but can't take reservations for them online, and Westshore Grand was sold out for October 20 to 27. Until we can book TPA parking again, the airport's own site is the place to reserve.
