At the rear of the airport lies the Alamogordo-White Sands Regional Airport Hotel Parking. For up to 30 minutes, you can leave your car parked for free. Thereafter, it costs $1 per hour. Every 15 minutes, a shuttle leaves the hotel for the airport.
Alamogordo, New Mexico, is home to the Alamogordo-White Sands Regional Airport. Both domestic and international flights are available from the airport. A hotel, as well as a variety of eateries and stores, are located at the airport. For those staying at the hotel, there is a parking lot as well. To and from the airport, however, there is no public transit.
Southern New Mexico is home to the Alamogordo-White Sands Regional Airport, which is around 30 miles from Alamogordo and 90 miles from El Paso. With two runways (one asphalt and one concrete) and a full-service FBO, the airport provides both commercial and general aviation services. There isn't a hotel on the property, although there are several hotels a short distance from the airport. The Holiday Inn Express Alamogordo is the closest hotel and is located around 2 miles away. The Hampton Inn Alamogordo, La Quinta Inn & Suites Alamogordo, and Best Western Desert Aire Motel are further local accommodations. Although there is a tonne of public parking accessible at the airport, there is no parking specifically reserved for hotel guests.
The area of Alamogordo-White Sands Regional Airport is 1,465 acres (593 ha). There are two runways: With an asphalt surface, 4/22 is 9,207 by 150 feet (2,135 x 46 m), and 16/34 is 3,512 by 200 feet. In November 2008, the airport installed an 8 kW solar photovoltaic array.

On August 31, 1954, Continental Airlines launched the city's first commercial aviation service. The first utilized aircraft were Douglas DC-3s, which were eventually upgraded to Convair 340s and then, in 1959, to four-engine Vickers Viscount turboprops. In 1963, Frontier Airlines took over Continental's Alamogordo operations as Continental continued to expand into a significant airline. Frontier ended its Alamogords service in late 1979 as it was transitioning to an all-jet airline, while commuter planes continued to use the airport. Trans-Colorado Airlines used Swearingen Metroliners in 1987 to operate flights to El Paso for a brief period.
In the spring of 1988, Air Ruidoso, another transient commuter airline, operated a brief service to Albuquerque and El Paso. Mesa Airlines was instructed to return to Alamogordo until early 2008, when Pacific Wings, doing business as New Mexico Airlines, started operating Cessna 208 Caravan turboprops with a single engine and nine seats. The Caravan is a smaller, slower, unpressurized type of aircraft, and in 2012, the EAS subsidies were eliminated as a result of declining passenger traffic.
