Fast and efficient. TSA was really good with moving our tour group. Our luggage arrived at our destination unscathed. One may want to bring their own food and snacks. The small restaurant there looked good though.

For a tiny 1 gate regional airport, this place is nice. Quaint. There is a decent food option inside. Very easy to navigate

Small airport. Looks to be behind a farm field. Only one terminal with 7 gates.

Flew Delta via Baltimore with a connection in Minneapolis for Sturgis 24.

Bar & eatery available before you go through security. Omelet, home fries, & toast: $13 veggie & $15 ham & cheese. Food was a little overcooked, and the area smelled like cooking grease, but everything tasted Okay. The cashier was also the server, bartender, and cleaning tables. I felt bad that there was not more help.

You can ask for complimentary ice water.

Coffee costs $5.75 for 20 oz.

No Free Refills!

Outside tables available overlooking the surrounding mountains.

Giftshop after you pass security.

Also, a small food/drink area featuring Cinnabon that does accept Delta meal vouchers.

Due to a plane delay in Minneapolis, we missed our connecting flight to Rapid City. Delta offered hotel and meal vouchers, but only certain vendors accept them, and they do expire, but are accepted at multiple airports. Always ask if the establishment honors them before you order!

The best airport I have every been too.

We walked up to the TSA area expecting a huge line.

It only took us 3 minutes to get in and out of TSA.

Baggage lines and car rental lines are also very short

Clean and pretty airport, super easy in and out. I wish there was covered parking. I'm too afraid of hail in this area to park here, I have to uber when I leave town. I would pay almost anything for covered parking.

Security is on the ball in a good way. Efficient and thourough, never long waits.

I was having a difficult time saying goodbye to my loved one and two TSA agents comforted me and gave me hugs whilst still maintaining professionalism, they showed me a lot of compassion and kindness when I was having a very very hard time. Whoever you ladies are, I appreciate you and I hope you know I still think of you both and how sweet you are. I hope to see you again. God bless you

This is the closest airport to Mount Rushmore and the Crazy House Airport. It has a decent number of flights

The airport is clean. It is not too crowded and seems to get people in and out efficiently.

Due to a LONG weather delay, my husband and I spent 7 hours at KRAP. However, if one must be stranded, I would highly recommend doing it there! It was one of the most beautiful FBOs that I have ever seen! The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. They even allowed us to use a courtesy car to go into town and eat dinner. There were chargers for us to plugin our Ipad and phones, vending machines for snacks, comfy chairs, and a huge TV. Thank you for helping make our extended delay as pleasurable as possible.

Super easy to go through, small, only 6 gates. Clean. It's organized well and since it's not a high volume airport, it has plenty of room to not feel overwhelmed with people. There is a food court area with to go food, packaged goods and a place to sit. From the security to the support people, everyone is super friendly. Not too many direct flights but Minneapolis is an hour flight away, so it's a convenient connection hub.

A small airport that handles large crowds pretty well. Tourists will come in droves, get cars, transportation, etc , then exit leaving the airport like a ghost town until the next plane load arrives. But as traveling opens up, this airport may get overwhelmed. Overall nicely laid out and easy to navigate.

Such a great little regional airport to travel in and out of. Nice little cafe inside before TSA to grab a bite and sit outside on a great patio overlooking the valley. Doesn't take anytime from dropping the car to sitting at the gate.

Absolutely no one in TSA line. First time ever! Airport may be small but it's clean and tidy. All the folks working here were friendly and some even were happy at their jobs! Refreshing! Thx.

Such a relaxed and simple airport, which is typical of a smaller regional airport. My wife and I arrived here, so we could see the area and head to Wyoming. The baggage claim is close, the rental cars are right next to the baggage claim, and the place is barely crowded at all. 👍

Very nice small airport. Food service is lacking and expensive. But for a quick flight out of town, very nice.

Arrived at RAP, I was surprised by the number of people in the departure area. Baggage claim was easy waited about 10 minutes for our bags. I would recommend for first time visitors to take the time to go out on the observation deck for the beautiful view. Nice gift shop and restaurant are available along with rental cars.

If you want to see how all airports were run "in the old days" plan a trip through Rapid City Regional Airport.

Friendly TSA agents, smiling workers and plenty of room, and seats, in the waiting area.

Had a Ham, Egg and Cheese on a croissant which was pretty good.

Great small airport with 7 gates. Short lines and nice people. Food is more cafeteria style. Gift shop prices are high as expected. Nice people.

Rapid City is a relatively small airport. Very clean and well maintained. Quite easy to get in and out. Rental car drop off is within walking distance - literally just a few feet away. TSA staff are very friendly. Restaurant inside has reasonable selection and prices are not too bad.

Pretty small airport(which I love) No issues encountered during my visit. And the food place and the gift/snack shop inside of the terminal was open at 5am! Better than major airports. Definitely didn't expect anything to be opened.

This was my first time at the Rapid City airport, or even at an airport of the size. We thought it was absolutely great. It's obvious that there's a logistics difference between a large City airport and a small City airport, but the facility here was everything we needed. There was a restaurant outside of security and inside of security. Everything was easily accessible, clean, modern, and efficient. The rental car facility was right inside baggage claim and easy to maneuver. We were able to walk right out to our car. We had a long wait before the flight that we took on departure and we were concerned that we might not have anywhere to spend the time but we did at the restaurant with no problem.

Due to flight cancellations, I ended up being re-routed through Rapid City Regional Airport in South Dakota. This was my first ever trip there, and I have never visited a smaller airport than here. It has a total of 6-gates. There is one restaurant and one shop. I needed some food, so I purchased a chicken club wraps that was actually pretty decent. The staff was understaffed and over worked although they did try to deal with everyone respectfully. The food there is extremely expensive like a major city airport where my sandwich and fries with drink was $24. I could not see who was a bartender so I could not get a drink which was why they lost a star. When it came time to boarding the flight it was relatively smooth, and I was in/out of the airport in 2 1/2 hours on schedule. I would suggest that you do not rely on this airport for food and that you bring your food with you. I made that mistake and I needed something to eat. Other than that, I would at that it was a relatively pleasant experience all-in-all.

I wish all airports were this awesome! It's easy to get to and easy to get through. I dropped off my rental car and was at my gate within 10 minutes. Almost everybody that works there is really friendly. There was one TSA lady that was on some kind of power trip, but I didn't let her get under my skin. There are great views of the Black Hills from the terminal.

Nice little airport to go in and out of. Easy and convenient parking. Friendly staff from security to gate agents. My only complaint is that I wish they had more East Coast destinations and that fares were cheaper for such short distance destinations.

This was the first time I flew into South Dakota. The airport was very nice and clean. Their TSA personnel were awesome. They smiled and were very friendly. I told one of the TSA personnel that I wish all TSA personnel would be as friendly. They actually seemed to enjoy their jobs.

The Rapid City Regional Airport was very easy to navigate. I flew in and out of the airport for a trip to visit Rapid City. They have a TSA PreCheck line at security. The airport is small but newer and well maintained. The restaurant inside the terminal had fast and friendly service. There are only 7 gates, so it's easy to get around inside.

My flight to Denver was diverted for weather reasons and the staff at this airport was incredibly gracious. They dealt with a large completely full flight that doesn’t normally come into smaller regional airports. We were tired cranky and hungry. There was only ONE bartender who absolutely saved the day of the drinkers and people eating big shout out to that guy who stayed very late to serve all by himself! The rest of the crew ordered pizza for starving passengers and kids who were very cranky for obvious reasons. We would never have been treated this good at any other airport under the circumstances. Thank you guys and gals for staying for so many upset passengers during your busy season during Sturgis!!

The Rapid City Region is a hidden gem. Quick access to beautiful nature areas, historical monuments, and quaint towns. From Custer State Park, to the Black Hills area which has Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore monument, Crazy Horse monument, and Bad Lands National Park you are in for a treat to the beauty of Nature and historical sites to make you proud to be in this country. All the above are within 30-75 minutes from Downtown Rapid City by car. Most are within 40 minutes. Downtown Rapid City also is worth a walk around. Small but several places to dine, drink, and tourist shop.

Very small airport with only 6 gates, there are two restaurants and a small gift shop to pick up snacks or drinks for your next flight. It took 5 minutes to walk from my terminal to the car rental station.
