Edit- one year later. This is the worst. Imagine the worst and this is it. I don’t even have to explain
Loved my room! Great facility, pool and bar. Just be aware people live here too. Safe and affordable. There’s a man who sings at breakfast, very loud I might add. So if you’re not a morning person you might want to take your plate to your room
NICE ROOMS NICE SPACE BATHROOM AND WAS CLEAN! GOOD PLACE TO STAY! HOWARD JOHNSON IS HEAVEN /MOTEL6 IS HELL!
The staff were friendly and very helpful. I needed to print several something for an important interview and the front desk staff made it possible. The staff helping with breakfast was also extremely personable, greeted everyone as they walked in, and checked to make sure that everyone had what they needed.
The staff is nice enough but the hotel itself is a real dive. The floor lamp socket was broken. The bedside lamp cord appeared to be chewed and was unplugged when I arrived to the room. I repaired it with some electrical tape. There were cobwebs in two different spots on the ceiling as well as on the light closest to me in the hallway. Doesn't housekeeping ever look up? The bathroom sink drain leaked. The toilet leaked intermittently. The telephone was unplugged when I arrived in the room, not to mention that the connection was bad when I plugged it in. The sheer curtain had a rip in it. The old card readers at this hotel were unreliable. Housekeeping would use a hotel pen as a door jam in the hallway door while cleaning but left it laying on the floor after they were done. This happened several days in a row. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't have been kept open in the first place given that it was probably a fire door. Last but not least, it appears that I brought home at least one bed bug. I'm glad I'm not the one who paid for the room.
The room was good for the price. The customer service was not great. They were really hard to work with and it made checking in frustrating.
Room was dated but not a dump. Coax to tv wasn't hooked up and room heater wasn't working well enough to keep the room warm.
On the plus side breakfast was great. Pool is huge with nice game room and workout room.
Real nice bar too.
As others have shared, rooms are dated, but it's a budget hotel. Each day the hallways would smell of smoke, but that would eventually get taken care of with cleaning. Service was fine. Enjoyed Mike's singing at breakfast each morning. He definitely offered excellent service and made us feel very welcome during our stay. Five star employee.
A nice low cost hotel on Madison's east side! There's a great bar and restaurant. Chef makes the best grilled cheese and cheese curds. I love the pool and arcade. Really, it's a low priced hotel so you get what you pay for. They offer free shuttles to the airport and a big breakfast. It's a comfortable package!
