Economy Lot - Grand Rapids Gerald Ford Airport

Gerald R. Ford International is a small airport with a big heart. My brief interaction with this airfield in Grand Rapids was positive because of efficient ground and flight operations (thank you, Southwest), and a clean environment, including the bathrooms. The arrival-departure pavilion is attractive and artistic, but the size of the airport limits shopping and dining choices to a half-dozen or so. However, it does offer a business center and (for weary parents with energized tots) a kids play area.

It has always been smooth sailing through this airport. And it is even more so now with the recent renovations completed. Very nice!

After flying in and out of O’hare & LAX for most of my life, GRR is a joy! The airport is small and efficient. They have mastered the TSA process! Going through security is quick & easy, and everyone is friendly!!

Such a clean and updated airport. I was able to find a nice waiting area before I went through security. I had time to spare so I wondered around. Upstairs is this nice cozy quiet area overlooking the tarmac. Not many people were there during the Saturday midafternoon I was here.

I enjoyed my quiet time here. Great waiting/lounging areas.

Very busy but staff is very helpful and friendly...our flight was delayed and staff helped with providing info on a different flight and somehow got our luggage to go with us in time. Was very happy to see our luggage when we arrived at our destination:)

It has been 4 years since my last flight out of GRR. There have been some changes since then. The security line had moved to a more central location and is much more straight forward and a breeze to go through. My gate was easy to find. It looks like they are building another terminal too. My flight was on time. Everything moved efficiently and was easy to find. The whole experience to and from was great.

Southwest diverted the flight going to Baltimore to leave from gate B7, instead of B8, which is supposed to leave at the same time as the flight to Denver, which was scheduled to leave from gate B7. 🤔 so we have to wait for that plane to load and leave, then the plane continuing on to Denver will dock, unload, get cleaned, and then we can finally load. So, suffice to say, we haven't loaded for our 4:15 flight 😡 wonder why they did this when there was nothing going on at gate B8



First time at GRR. Great medium-sized airport. Check-in went fast. Signage to security and the gates was obvious and easy to follow. We were able to get through security quickly. Even though we were there with the morning rush, the standard TSA line was actually faster than the pre check line. All-in-all, it was a great start to our trip.



It's handy that they tell you gates B2 - B8 are right after gate B1 😉

Great little airport! Lots of work spaces, comfortable places to sit with plenty of outlets for all the devices. The seating is comfortable and roomy, even has some couches at the various gates. All the other airports need to step up their game now that GRR shows airports don’t have to be such uncomfortable places.

Small/Midsize airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Serves national/international destinations. Very modern and seamless, but still under construction and renovation. Really enjoyed some of the sofas and privacy workspaces in the gate waiting area. Free Wifi. Easy to navigate. TSA security checkpoint was quick and efficient. Food and retail options could be improved. Definitely looking forward to the finished new terminal!

It's quick, easy and clean. Well kept and updated. The business lounges are nice. One of the better airport experiences I've had lately. Small shops and convenience stores open at 5am.

Love the new A terminal (photo included), how convenient the long-term garage parking is, and the short lines. We always fly out of GR, its just too easy and keeps getting better every year with their continuous growth and improvements.

Concord A got nice remodel, more is coming up in the summer. Pretty impressive Steelcase work space. Now we just need more flights out of GR.

Although parking is insane. All full, even economy, out of the way was almost up to capacity.

Plan to come way earlier so you can park and get to your flight on time.

Recent expansion to the terminal. Makes this the nicest airport I’ve ever been to. It’s so nice and there are so many comfortable seating areas and private seating spaces. Everything is clean and fresh and relaxed. There’s even a modern fireplace to sit by.

Easy place to fly. Drop off and pickup could be improved. Inside is nice. Limited number of gates so reasonable distance to walk. Usually flights have to pass through a hub to get to many places.

Took a lil while to get our luggage after flying in from Dallas but not bad at all

A great regional airport in terms of ease of access and flight options. Plenty of parking and the terminal is clean and well maintained. Easy to get in and out, although sometimes people take liberties by parking their cars too long in the arrival area, clogging up the pickup area for passengers.

The newly renovated Gerald R. Ford Airport is a gem. The comfort and coziness it offers are beyond compare. It's just the right size—neither too big nor too small. The facilities are top-notch, and the attention to detail is evident. Whether it's the lounges, dining options, or the overall atmosphere, everything exudes a sense of warmth and convenience. Kudos to the team behind this transformation. It's now my go-to airport for hassle-free and enjoyable travels!

Small lil airport but had a good set of spots to wait for the plane. Enjoyed some Founders beer while we waited. Nice and easy to get through security, seemed they had more TSA than larger airports to get through the gate.

National always treats me like a king, willing to upgrade me at the drop of a hate for no additional cost to me.



The parent company, Enterprise, does not recognize me as an Emerald Club member since 2010. The Enterprise counter staff is not receptive to what I need in a rental as a handicap.person, and tries to put me into a car that is way too small for a high premium cost; making it cost prohibited for me to upgrade.



WITH NATIONAL, everyone that works there has me in mind from the reservation, including any changes I make in their user friendly app, to my dropping off the vehicle when I am finished with the rental. There are never any extra or surprise charges. I feel like a king as an Emerald member. Thank you so much for your exceptional customer service National!

Just before Thanksgiving and Christmas, various organizations join together at Gerald R. Ford International Airport to welcome our active military and veterans home for the holidays. God bless and thank you for your service!

This airport is organized, clean and comfortable. The TSA security was the kindest and most polite we have ever experienced. They totally make this a number one choice for airports in Michigan! It's an easy location and easy parking. The airport is well laid out and easy to find where we needed to go. Highly recommend using this airport! You will not be disappointed.

It's a small airport but it's world class. If you have a departure flight, order from the airport Starbucks before you go through security and you can pick it up after you clear security. Or, get a quick brew at Founder's. There's a child friendly space as well as private office space. The seating at the gates is modern, comfort, and there are privacy seats. Top notch little airport.

Surprisingly lovely airport in a medium size city. Lovely contemporary ultra modern design and a small but impressive collection of restaurants and shops. As an avid reader, I was pleased to browse in the airport book shop, Ink Books. They have an obviously carefully curated selection of books in many categories - certainly more than just mass market titles. They also have a number of cute souvenir items you’d expect to find in such a shop. The airport also has - no surprise - a Starbucks.

Nice small airport plenty of food options and stores to keep you busy. Only complaint is the parking wish it was a little cheaper you can choose to park through a third party

Company instead of at the airport to reduce cost but wish the airport would offer something better for parking or military discount on parking. Overall nice airport comfy and easy to navigate.

Great newly renovated smaller to midsize airport. Staff are friendly and polite. The special touches like companion care restrooms and pods for work or rest are welcome on the brand new Delta terminal. Lots of plants and comfortable seating and open walkways.

Small airport. Quick security most of the time. Only 2 restaurants and a bagel shop. Few vending machines. Never that crowded. Eat before 6 or you may not be able to catch a restaurant open still. Starbucks after security.

It's an airport, and to be honest I'm not sure how much control they have over my air travel experience. Staff was stern yet sympathetic in enforcement of safety policies toward my young toddler. I enjoyed a discount on parking due to the closure of the economy lot. The north lot is a great place to park. Unlike in other airports, all my luggage arrived seemingly intact to baggage claim. Really a great little airport if you are willing to have a lay over flying in or out of west Michigan.

Boarding was fast and efficient. Not crowded, but the vending machines are a bit pricey.

Great Airport to get in and out if allows drop off and pick up in front of Airlines ticket counters. Parking ramp so close to terminal. Easy rental pick up and drop off again right next to terminal best rental car pick up and drop off in the country. Has staff inside of parking ramp for fast pick up and return. No charge in and out if rental area👍🇺🇸

Construction in the new terminals are still ongoing, but what has opened is very nice and modern. Much needed upgrades!

First time here. Flying Allegiant which we've flown from Flint. Bigger airport than Flint but much smaller than metro. Well staffed and clean. Bathrooms have hand dryers in the faucets which are very convenient and new. Magazine shops and food was fine.

The flight attendants here do their best and while I have had issues with flights, that has nothing to do with the airport. This airport is very clean, has a kids play area, and I have never had a bad experience at this airport. Keep it up flight attendants! Thank you much for making our vacations safer!
