I wish I could give zero stars because we could not even use the room we are getting charged for, but that is not an option here. I booked a pre-paid room with my husband's credit card for a business associate that needed to stay near the airport to catch an early flight.
On the morning of the stay, I phoned the hotel to ensure that everything was in order for our associate, who was on his way to the hotel. I was informed by the desk clerk that since the reservation was made for in my husband's name and charged to his credit card that even though I had informed them in writing, through the Choice Hotel's reservation system, at the time I made the reservation that somebody else would be staying in the room, that our associate could not check into the room. Also, the room was already charged to my husband's card. they informed me that "that is our policy."
I called Choice Hotel's "Customer service", spent over an hour on the phone getting transferred to "the wrong person" and they even tried to push a "special offer" for a "vacation" on me, to finally get someone that would address my problem. I was told that there was nothing they could do, that it was the individual hotel owner's " policy."
We travel constantly for our business and arrange rooms for our associates and clients. If corporate cannot do anything to fix the problem I will institute our new "company policy."
We will never use any Choice Hotels again.
I stayed at this hotel while on vacation. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel is the older style in which all the rooms exit to the exterior of the building. The hotel is actually comprised of multiple buildings not directly connected. We stayed on the second floor in our building and had to carry suitcases up the stairs because there was no elevator. Not a big deal but if stairs give you a problem, make sure to ask for a ground floor room. The room was adequate and met our needs. The sink area was located outside the bathroom, which I think is a plus. The room had a faint musty scent to it. It wasn’t enough to be off-putting but was noticeable. The room was in good working order but was... well used and a little rough. The hotel had a nice, outside swimming pool. It wasn’t huge but it was very pleasant and relaxing. The location seemed like a mixed use industrial/commercial area with businesses and airport parking lots near you. There are no restaurants in the hotel but there is a steak-house next door. We did not eat there so I can’t give any guidance on that. Overall, it was a decent hotel and I would be willing to stay again. If you’re a picky traveler this probably isn’t the place for you.
Very nice and quiet despite being close to the airport. Tam was super helpful during our stay. I super appreciate being put on the bottom floor so my kids wouldn't be bothersome!
Had a decent night's sleep. Wish it woulda been warmer so we coulda gotten in the pool. And the breakfast was surprisingly good too!!
We booked a one night to enjoy 5 points in Jacksonville. We wanted to go to the beach but used the pool instead because of the rain. The pool was the best part of the stay. We came back from the pool and our room door was ajar. We made sure we closed it behind us. My sister talked to hotel and switch our room. I was uncomfortable the rest of the stay! If we had to stay another night I would’ve booked another hotel. BTW hotel has an old building smell.
