I am a transportation worker and I rely on hotel rooms to allow a comfortable resting environment, here this is not the case, I am regularly required to stay here for my job and switching hotels is not a decision I am allowed to make. The Hotel changed their thermostats to include an occupancy sensor. Your room will not be comfortable upon check in. I like a cool room , however the air conditioning will only be active the entire time you are sleeping. I recommend you stay elsewhere if this is something that would bother you.

The hotel is perfectly situated near Liberty Airport. We chose it because it is dog friendly. Food at the hotel bar was good. But… the room wasn’t clean enough, especially during covid times. There were food crumbs on the carpet and tables , ac didn’t function well and worst of all there were tons of hairs (long, dark and very visible) on the bathroom floor. We could go back to reception and ask for another room , but we were too tired to deal with it.

There was one washcloth in the room for my husband and I. We had to wait until we heard a cleaning woman in the hallway to get extra towels. One man was complaining that he had called three times for an extra wash cloth. He had to come down to the desk. He was extremely angry. Only then did they gave him two extra washcloths.It was only two teeny miniature soaps in the bathroom. Luckily I bought one from home. The food had no taste. The meals averaged $18 a plate. There was hair on the walls in the bathroom in the shower. People disturbed us next door loud talking. My husband sprayed the bed with Lysol while before he got in it period. If they are trying to save water by only giving the guest a single wash cloth, one has to wonder if the sheets are changed after the guest leave the room.

The people are kind and helpful enough.



However the hotel has clearly seen better days. They’ve tried putting lipstick on a pig but that lipstick is fading away. The rooms are old and wearied. The bathrooms have peeling layers. No shampoo! It’s an airport hotel for crying out loud. The A/C is laborious, at best. The large name signs on the building are barely working.



The shuttle service is timely though.



All in all, a useful airport hotel for a short sleepover. Not recommended for anything else though.

This review is unfortunate for the hotel and it comes down solely because of the poor management. I am a Titanium Elite with Marriott so I travel quite a bit. I am also retired from United Airlines so I know how things work with hotels. There was a family waiting at 0340 for a shuttle to the airport, I arrived in the lobby at 0345 and other "crew" came down right before the shuttle arrived. The van arrived and put all the "crew" on first and the other family almost didn't make it on the shuttle. I did not make the shuttle to the airport due to space. After I was left at the curb, I went in to complain and supposedly spoke to the manager (Heavy set Hispanic male with a white shirt). I complained about what happened and explained the situation. The manager only offered excuses and said the "crew" have contracts and they have to go first. 1st mistake- don't lie to customers, especially if you don't know the rules. If it's a true contract you have to provide a PRIVATE shuttle, not the hotel shuttle. The crews were from 4 different airlines and they were commuting flight attendants....how do I know? One was working my flight from Athens the night before and was commuting home. She paid for her room just like us. You should have TWO sign up sheets...not just "come down a few min early". You should have placards on the van stating "crew only" if it's truly a contract. ALL of this could be easily eliminated if the manager would have said, no worries I've ordered two shuttles and the other one is 2 min away. BUT, if this is not communicated to the customers then things get out of hand and everyone has to start their day on a bad note. This could be a great review if the manager had a little training on how to actually manage a hotel and it's shuttles. Working near a major airport, such as Newark, this could have been a very easy fix. Instead you have a top Marriott customer having to send in a complaint. BTW, the next shuttle could have had the same scenario so I can assume this is not a one off. Marriott, please work with this manager on how to effectively handle his airport transportation.

The hotel itself was clean and comfortable and deserves 5 stars. Front desk staffers Roger and Erica were very helpful and caring and deserve 10 stars.



However, Renaissance/Marriott central booking deserves zero stars for incompetence (or attempted credit card theft) and zero stars for the apparent lack of commiseration for a guest’s predicament — that was caused by them.



Prior to arriving, I was stranded at Newark airport at 1:30 a.m. due to flight cancellation, and I called the Renaissance reservation (central booking) number. The man I spoke with took all my information, including credit card and said the confirmation would be sent to me. I got the shuttle and at the hotel discovered that the confirmation never came and it was not in the system. From the get go, Roger, at the front desk, treated me as a guest with a problem and not as problem guest. In trying to track down my reservation, in order not to have me end up double booked (charged), he spoke with an agent at the number I called, and she got offended when he told her that red flags went up as they were trained to never take credit card info over the phone. She proceeded to go on a verbal tear about him trying to tell her how to do her job. Although Roger tried to politely end the call by telling her it was nearly 3 a.m. and that he had a very tired guest he wanted to get settled in, she continued for over 10 minutes. End result he made a reservation for me, comped me water and wifi, and best of all, extended checkout time for me so that I could rest up more before my flight the next evening. (All was his suggestion, I didn’t even think to ask for anything.)



The central booking reservation didn’t show up the next day on my credit card, so I promptly canceled my card.

I hope to change my review for the better by the end of the trip, but the first impression is not good. We accidentally went to the other Marriott in the same airport. Their shuttle came to pick us up immediately, we had a great experience. Then we found we were in the wrong Marriott and called the one a mile away and asked if their shuttle could pick us up. Nope. They said we would have to go back to the airport and then take the train to the shuttle. Luckily the driver from the better Marriott dropped us off to the shuttle stop, which only comes every 30 minutes. So we waited for the shuttle for a long time, it was so full that we didn’t even fit on it. So we are being made to wait another 30 minutes, and the shuttle may be full again?? Where do these people even come from if they do not stop at the terminals for the customers? This is extremely disappointing and annoying after a long flight.

Starting with the shuttle service.. almost 90 minutes to get to the hotel. The first time there was not enough room and when it got to p4 the shuttle had room for four, there were 7 waiting. Flight crews got preferential treatment . This was at 1 am.

The hotel does not have coffee or water in rooms. Not coffee downstairs. You are forced to buy Starbucks which I don’t like. The hotel is in need of an update. Our bathtub while clean was Pelli g and nasty.

Ideal for the airport parking. After I booked the parking on 3rd party site, my plans have changed and I needed to shift the dates by a day. They did it free of charge when I checked in. Best spot to park is behind the building next to the back doors. Once arrived at P4, called them and the shuttle arrived in 1 min.

Nice, clean hotel with very friendly staff. The rooms are clean and modern. Marriott Brand never disappoints. What's most impressive is the gym! It's a huge gym with lots of workout equipment. From free weights to Peloton bikes, this gym has it all. The equipment is new and well maintained. Do not be lazy and lock yourself in the room. Go to the gym and energize 😊 💪 Really enjoyed the stay here.

The hotel was very nice and modern. However, I just wish I got better sleep! Someone's car alarm kept going off all night! The hotel needs to do a better job at having people update their vehicle information, even if online for covid reasons obviously.

Nice. Accommodations were great. Staff very professional. Rooms was spacious. However, the wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom. Other than that, it was decent for a spur of the moment reservation.

Room is outdated. The hotel is generally old and needs remodeling. Heating system is loud, making sleep difficult. The shower had only lukewarm water. There was hair in the tub from the previous guest and stains on the floor. It was obviously not cleaned, which I found especially surprising with Covid so rampant in NJ right now. Paid $15 for a chicken Ceasar salad that was in a plastic container and obviously not fresh at all as the chicken was hard. No microwave. No toothpaste to purchase in the store. No room service. Very disappointed.

Great place to park. With one of the cheapest and very secure parking spots. Quick shuttle ride to airport.Hotel looks great and I would like to stay at it next time and start my vacay 1 day before I fly. Travel should be so relaxing.

I would definitely park at the Renaissance every time I travel. Super cheap 6 dollars and change a day. No extra free or hidden fees. Just tax included. I parked for 16 days and it was only 120

dollars and change. Lots of parking. Once you make your reservation, you need to check in at the hotel. You’ll get a yellow ticket to place on your dashboard and voila. The shuttle bus comes every 15 minutes or every 30 depending on the time. You conveniently wait at the lobby for it. Upon arrival, you’ll have to take the AirTrain to the parking designated on a small printed card given to you at the time of check in at the hotel. Don’t lose it or take a pic of it just like I did. When I got to the hotel, I greeted the receptionist and told her, “I’m here to pick up my car.” And she signaled to go. No checking or waiting for someone to pick up your car. Hassle free! You’ll have to park behind the hotel and that’s fine. Just walk through the lobby and use the back doors. I parked right in front of them so it was easy. Definitely recommend. The hotel is beautiful and super clean. My daughter liked it!

We stayed here in June 2017 for the Teen Wolf convention, everything was great and we had so much fun. The bus driver was incredibly kind giving us a ride to the airport even though his shift was over, or else we would have missed our return flight

Only parked here. Go to the hotel counter, they’ll give you a paper to put on the dash. Shuttle runs every 30 mins. On the return, shuttle picks up at p4 (take the air tram), shuttle has Renaissance decals easy to spot. Smooth process overall.

Lovely hotel and the decor was quite modern. They have free wifi and a large fitness center. Front desk staff was very welcoming. Very cosy environment. Great stay and very close to the airport. They offer a hotel shuttle service to and from the airport and a nice discount on food. Highly recommended.

The gym is open! Just go to the front desk, fill up a small questionnaire and they will give you the key to the gym. The machines are new and great. I believe the gym was built over the old indoor pool. Plenty of space.

The gym alone is all you need!!! Bed was nice. Room clean. Bathroom a bit cramped. Shower pressure was great!! Although I did fall because it was slippery so be careful. Clean in was fast and staff was great. Taking many steps to keep us safe. Not much around because It is an airport hotel but they had a restaurant and coffee to buy in the morning! Good stay.

The hotel itself was fine. My problem is when I search and buy online a pet friendly hotel and show up to be told it's a $125 fee for the pet. Don't call yourself pet friendly! You want 2x as much for my little golden doodle as for me?!?!?!

Very quiet stay during the continuing Covid19 pandemic. From all appearances Renaissance is doing quite a good job in keeping in step with CDC protocols. Room was clean with a good selection of the requisite amenities and minimal furnishings including mouthwash, a refrigerator and coffee/tea maker. With some hotels getting rid of bathtubs I love that there's one available. One could easily get lost in the Renaissance pillows(4) as they are so soft which makes for a restless night sleep for me. All in all a nice stay.

This was my third time staying at this hotel and they need to go into each room and check all of bathrooms. One room , the hot water in the sink didn't work. In the second room the faucet in the tub did not work correctly. And on this last stay the towel racks and tissues holders were almost off the wall and the refrigerator did not get cold. There is also not a microwave available for when you order food, to heat it up. However, the staff is excellent.

Brian the manager and his staff were the best, he was working last evening when we checked in and was there to great us this morning , just one of the nicest and professional men I've had the pleasure to meet. Thanks to this hotel and all of re remodeling upgrades, the gym is the bomb and I can't wait to be able to use it. Can't wait to visit this hotel again.

Rooms are comfortable and spacious. Airport shuttle was quick and convenient. Fitness center is huge and very impressive for a hotel. The only downside was the breakfast, which was a safe average, I'd expect a little more for the price, but overall it was a great stay.

The breakfast here costs $19.19 for the same buffet you get at a $70 a night hotel for free. Power eggs, cheapest bacon and sausage available. Total ripoff in the breakfast department.

Pleasantly surprised. I had not stayed here before, and chose it due to the good price. But it was an amazing value. Nice rooms- comfortable and cozy. Great beds. Nice bathroom. Plenty of space. OK restaurant. Great location. And best of all, the front desk staff was friendly and professional and knowledgeable about the area. 10 / 10 would recommend.

The bartenders are the best people you could ask for. Rosemary and suptemah. They literally make you feel at home. They care about your food choice and just who you are. The gym is freaking amazing now. Its huge. You couldn't ask for it to be better. Food is good. Rooms could use a face lift.

Bed was nice. Closer to the airport. But if you take an Taxi it’s hard to get to the terminal unless the Taxi driver knows the area. But the rooms are horrible the walls are very thin and you can hear a pin drop from the next door. Though they have soundproof windows the walls are paper thin. Please don’t stay Here if you want to rest or sleep.

Stayed here for a week, most of the staff is kind and accommodating. Unfortunately their house keeping continuously ignored ‘Do not disturb’ signs. They would go into our rooms, move our bags and clothes around, and even go into our stuff and scatter clothes around our room. Some people I know had some of their belongings stolen. Souvenirs as well as clothing and electronics such as AirPods as a specific example. I do not recommend staying here at all.

While the hotel is nice and comfortable, with wonderful front desk staff, housekeeping is less than reliable and good. Not only do they ignore “Do Not Disturb” signs, but when cleaning the room, they throw items all over the place, go through bags, dump stuff all over the floor, and even steal items. Until the people perpetrating these actions are removed from the staff, I would not suggest staying here.

Flyby this one. Bathrooms are gross- I've seen cleaners bathrooms at the Trenton Train Station. Toilet ran all night and in the morning it wouldn't flush and a family of 4 had to get ready for a 6am flight. Staff was nice. Hard Pass!

I called few hotels in the neighborhood before ordering, and here I got the most courteous answer. When I arrived, check-in took only 30 seconds! No passport scanning, filling out papers or other BS. Ultra fast internet speed. Comfortable beds. What else do you need. And let me especially praise Mrs. Keri which was one of the most professional hotel staff member ever encountered. So quick and helpful! Thanks!

My stay at the Renaissance was very pleasant, and I felt very welcome. During my work conference, the staff was very polite and the food was delicious! Most importantly, Christian, at the front desk, provided the most amazing service. If not for him making accommodations for my friends and I, we would have missed our flight. He made sure to communicate our needs to the staff, and we truly appreciate what he has done for us!

Shuttle service to & from airport.. clean rooms. Good food at their restaurant. Attending a 3 day conference. Hotel extremely busy as few vacancies left due to other functions/groups and several banquets going on at same time.. Daily Banquets were excellent at our convention.. Great hard working staff..

Beautiful hotel, but I was really upset with my experience. The hotel is already pretty expensive, but upon check in we realized we had to pay an ADDITIONAL $150 incase there were damages to the room. On top of that, they don't even offer you a cold breakfast. A small cup of coffee is $2. Drink the water provided in your room will be another $4/each. And for what we paid, the room was not roomy. Will not be staying there again. The cheaper hotels treat you better. Save your money.

Convenient location and updated Marriott. Rooms are very nice, staff is friendly and professional and the concierge lounge has excellent food variety. It is amazingly quiet as well despite being right at the airport. Even room to room you can sleep in peace not hearing what's going on next door

This was my first time in a renaissance and it did not disappoint! We were here for 6 days and 5 nights for the Summit Learning conference. The food, hotel rooms, bar area and staff were AMAZING! One housekeeper in particular, Frances, she was phenomenal! She was very welcoming, polite and kept the women's bathroom in the lobby CLEAN! I would definitely stay here again if we come back to the Newark area!

Christian was absolutely fantastic! From the minute we walked in the door, Christian went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. The rooms are large and the beds along with the bedding are very comfortable. I would definitely bring my family here to stay again!
