If you like ice cream, this is the place to go. They have almost every good brand of ice cream sold in grocery stores (They're only missing Boulder Ice Cream.).
Their beds are like wood planks wrapped in thick, noisy plastic. Their updated rooms are not all that clean, but get the job done. The continental breakfast is somewhat disgusting. The captain is fun. Desk clerks seem to be there to do their jobs and they seem troubled because they must interact with customers.
They have parking available for people going to the port.
Room was not fancy but was clean and comfortable.
This hotel is the best at getting people to their cruise.
Picked us up at the airport, next morning transported us to the cruise ship very efficiently...and took care of baggage.
Check in took longer than expected but they were very busy.
Decent restaurant part of the hotel.
Izzy with cruise transport provided us excellent customer service... they have a well oiled machine for getting you to where you need to be! Loved the guy dressed as a cruise captain at breakfast making us waffles, nice fun touch to get us into vacay mode. Room was clean, loved the gift shop and options to purchase wine for not much more than you would pay at a grocery store...very convenient since we flew in from TX and wanted to take our two freebies on the ship. I was nervous when we first arrived at 2am for check in 😂, but I would definitely stay here again! 😍😎
This place was great, especially for how affordable it was. The woman who met us at the front desk (Hipp... her name began this way but at 4am my memory wasn't great) was so nice even at such an awful hour of the morning. She offered us a later check out time because we had gotten in so late. The breakfast was standard continental fare...but the coffee was hot and the outdoor ambiance was delightful. Beware if you aren't a fan of bird sounds...the boat-tailed grackles are pretty boisterous! I felt so lucky to have found this place. A great stop over in our travels.
Booked last minute through Hotwire for after our cruise. So happy with our stay. Shuttle picked us up promptly from the cruise port when we got back. Great gift shop in lobby for snacks, souvenirs, and necessities too. Restaurant had good food. Free breakfast is always a bonus. Very clean and nice front desk staff. Would definitely stay again.
This is a great budget hotel near Fort Lauderdale and is great for cruises or airport runs. Rooms are clean with no roaches and the breakfast was actually more than the continental advertised with sausage and eggs. People are way too picky as it’s a very clean budget hotel and it serves its purpose! This hotel should have higher ratings especially for a Rodeway Inn which are typically much lower end than this one. I also forgot to add that the on-site restaurant has great food and burgers.
Front desk staff was rude. Continuously used foul language. Customer service was horrible. Room basic. Food very generic. The gift shop was good & so were the employees. The "Capt" in the breakfast area was great. The staff who run the shuttle service was great. Friendly helpful and customer orientated. The owner feels that there is no need for customer service.
Great attentive staff and management, making every guest feel welcome.
Rooms are comfortable, spacious and good quality.
Breakfast has good options to choose from.
There is also a gifts hop conviniently in the lobby as well as cozy restaurant next door.
Pool is great, could be open to longer hours at night for guests who arrive later.
Good shuttle service and location is near cruise port and airport. Looking forward to coming back, thanks for a great stay!
My Husband & I stayed the night before our cruise and as we came back for the day from and waited for our flight home. We have stayed at many hotels in the area and this one beats hem all. They have it down pat and will take care of you getting anywhere you need. Older hotel but very clean, free breakfast. The manager Izzy was amazing and knows his job well. Shuttle drivers, front desk, restaurant everyone was so helpful and friendly! Great place makes cruising VERY easy! Thank you!
The front desk can use some hospitality teaching, smile at people , make them feel welcomed! Rather than being short with customers, this is our second time experiencing this and it will be our last time ! Perfect location from airport and to cruise ports !
Also, breakfast which is a free continental breakfast ...,,,, the ladies here bark at you before you leave even in the door for your complementary cards ??? My son asked for peanut butter and the woman just looked at him and waked away without saying a word ams only held a finger out suggesting “ one minute” then she gave him some. It’s this behaviour that’s leaves them with an empty “TIP” jar! They want gratuities but show no kindness ! They need to remember that you get more with honey then you do vinegar;)
The bar attached is OK, pub food, they seem nicer in there !
It's a nice hotel fairly close to the airport and they have a free shuttle which is super convenient. They also have a free breakfast that's great. The rooms are very clean, no complaints.
The bed was uncomfortable, the curtains were torn. Cruise days are total chaos. The shuttle service was excellent and the little bar had great food and service. The bathroom was beautiful and clean. The towels we very nice and the coffee pot and blow dryer was nice also. But, the beds were uncomfortable. I don't fare if they were Serta or not and the curtain was torn and should have replaced.
Room was large and clean. Grounds were beautiful. Nice gift shop. Good breakfast with very helpful staff. Front desk people were excellent. Very thorough. We stayed the night before our cruise and took the shuttle to the dock. Short drive. Parked car at Rodeway for less than what we would pay at dock.
I came with my family for a getaway. This was a nice place centrally located to the beach and shopping. The nice thing it was off the main road. Our room was nice with 2 queen beds tile floors. Look like they had done some remodeling. Hey its a room we just used it as home based for going all over. I liked the pool and garden area place was pretty decent and clean.
I would come back. the manage was very nice he gave us lots of suggestions.
Great place we came back again
Highly recommend this Rodeway Inn! Everyone is extremely hospitable - especially the manager! Rooms are clean and updated and the property is beautiful. If you’re cruising this is your place to stay! They have everything you need to prepare for your cruise (printer, a shop for anything you forgot, etc). The free cruise and airport shuttles are a major plus and super organized and on time. We plan to stay here for all future stays in Fort Lauderdale !
Great value, great service, great property. First time, (took a chance and booked 5 rooms), but it will not be last time. Victoria (worked 9/7 desk, really all front desk people), Izzy (shuttle coordinator?) Anthony and Antoine ( baggage and shuttle) are outstanding at what they do!
Always have a great experience at this hotel. The staff are always accommodating & courteous. The rooms are spacious and clean. The property is well maintained and the pool is not only centrally located but always clean and warm. Just always a great stay. Would definitely recommend.
no frills place to stay, this can be considered --- just be wary of the long shuttle waiting time, discourteous driver, and a lady Front Office Personnel who has no interest on guests' satisfaction.
Room is well lit, with A/C, basic and acceptable sans the hair strands on the bed and in tub (not mine), and a fly that comes as bonus with the room stay.
The night duty staff at the front office was helpful upon check in but hopefully there will be some improvements on the instructions given as to the designated shuttle pick up area (caused confusion) & pick up times that go more than an hour. Best to go with instructions from airport desk as from personal experience, I had to go back and forth to both ends of the arrival area due to the lack of awareness by the Inn personnel on the changes made at the airport. To top it off, waiting more than an hour for an angry shuttle driver was not the best.
If you are a guest who arrives late at night, it does not help when you have a 2 hrs delay checking in.
Although late check outs are allowed, there is a charge for every hour after the standard check out time. Understandable if they were able to pick you up on time (with charges for night shuttle) and check you in. But with the delay caused by them, NO CONSIDERATION --- you get charged --- no ifs or buts.
Front Office Night duty were helpful to give numbers to a pizza delivery (bar was closed by the time around 1130pm) but FRONT OFFICE DAY STAFF (LADY) was of no help on the late check-out charges and completely ignored me the first 2 times I asked.
Sadly, NO effort for good customer service.
The Inn itself is acceptable --- the staff /customer service --- I would rate as poor.
Completely unexpected and certainly a welcomed surprise. At the front desk CNC Marissa nobody will take better care of you in the state of Florida. All the rooms are clean they have renovated the hotel. They now have vinyl floors. Super clean. Spacious bathrooms with tile. And the bear essential amenities in the room. Such as television refrigerator microwave shampoo and soap. For all the extra Necessities that you might want bring him or go to a different hotel that will charge you $100 more per night. This honestly is one of the best kept secrets in Fort Lauderdale. And right off the main Highway. If you found this review helpful please give me the thumbs up.
Good experience! Staff was friendly, rooms clean, easy check in and out. shuttle to cruise port was very nice. Bar/restaurant attached to hotel is a great place to eat and have some drinks. Our room did smell a little musty, but not too bad. Very nice hotel overall!
