We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for 1 night. The overall experience was really great, but I specifically wanted to highlight the service. Whether it be at the check in counter, or at the breakfast, the people were absolutely fantastic. Truly welcoming. The rooms were very decent. We would most definitely stay here again.
Our suite cost nearly $200 a night and parking an additional $25. For that kind of money I really expected that the water from our kitchen sink would be drinkable.
Instead the water was cloudy and nasty. I called the front desk and they told me, “Don’t drink from your suites sink, it’s not filtered”. The guest agent then told me I needed to go to vending area outside of my room to get fresh water.
So I get dressed, and walk down the hall to find the water dispenser. Unfortunately, there were no cups. So, I walk all the way back to my room and grabbed the ice bucket because it’s large enough to hold enough water for my family. I then headed back to vending area. By now, my throat is parched and dry. I fill the bucket with H20 and make another trip back to my room.
I’m sorry, I expect fresh, filtrated water from a Holiday Inn premium room.
I shouldn’t need to leave my room and walk down the hall for a glass of water. I really wanted to like this hotel but not having a basic need readily available is inexcusable.
Very nice, updated room. The beds are extremely comfortable and they supply plenty of pillows. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Despite being close to the flight line the hotel is well sound proofed and allows for a great night's sleep.
I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. Upon arrival, the staff were very short and rude to me at the front desk. I was asking questions about the nightly security deposit (as I had not dealt with a fee like this before) and they dismissed me and talked down to me like a child. I did not appreciate their attitude. Once in the room, things were broken and not as they should have been. The desk, and the lamp were both broken upon arrival. At one point, I had smelled smoke. I called the front desk to alert them about it. Generally smelling smoke in a hotel room is NOT something to ignore. When the front desk picked up, they were annoyed that I had bothered them. They kept asking what I wanted them to do about it. Their "genius" solution? Have housekeeping come up and spray the room to where the smell goes away. You have to love the urgency. The only good thing I can say about my stay, was the kindness of the housekeepers. They barely spoke English, but gave me much more respect and customer service then the people who are supposed to be the face if the hotel. I will not be staying here again, and advise you to think twice about it as well.
Stayed here for 5 days for work. I would absolutely not choose this place if I came to Chicago again on my own. The bed was comfy. That’s the only reason I have two stars instead of one. Staff is uptight. The only amenity is a gym. The AC is on full blast all over the building IN DECEMBER. Just no.
This place is so expensive and they're always trying to nickel and dime you with additional charges. $25 for parking is ridiculous. And that's per day. Even discounted for the convention I was at it was still $17. That is an insane amount of money when your car isn't even covered it's just a surface lot. And then both of the machines that you pay for parking with were broken. With one not working at all seemingly not able to take cards or cash. And the other one not taking cash.
The food was not remarkable and while more expensive than one would pay elsewhere was not terrible by convention standards. The bathrooms were clean as was the hall where the event took place.
Excellent customer service! Tomas and Patty at the Chicago Fire Oven / Starbucks we’re top notch! They helped us when they were clearly closed, and then went above and beyond expectations! Best hospitality I’ve received in a long time. My daughter kept saying, “they’re so nice!” Kudos to them!!!
Clean rooms, decent pricing. Nice restaurants and bar areas. Nice continental breakfast. My only complaint was even though the pool only had a couple swimmers at that time, it was extremely dirty. I dont know if their filters weren't working but you could see a thick film of debris on top of the water and the water itself was very murky, and there was algae growing on the sides and bottom of some areas in the pool. Needless to say we did not go in and were extremely disappointed. I would have given a higher rating had this not been the case.
I don't usually write reviews, but I stayed here for a conference I was hosting, and I can't be more happy with all of the amazing service we received. The AV guys were extremely helpful in setting up and taking down and the restaurant/bar staff was so kind and friendly throughout my entire stay. Could not be more happy with our experience both personal and professional.
We stayed in Crown plaza during our visit to Chicago with our child. You will get rooms in good deals. Our room had french windows and our room faces the O'Hare airport and we had good view of landing and take-offs. No worries, rooms are sound-proof. We love their morning coffee 💕
I stayed at the Crowne Plaza in July 2019 for G-Fest. We had a really good time although it was very hot. 3000 people combined with middle of summer probably contributed to that a lot. I wish the air conditioner in the Halls was adequate but considering the circumstances I was not disappointed. The amenities were great the layout of the conference rooms was nice the rooms were nice, the restaurants were.. okay. Overall I'd go again.
My ride home cancelled hours before I was picked up for ohare. I scrambled, decided to drive myself and ended up here. So happy I chose Crowne and will use them again. The staff inside was courteous and helpful. The bus was clean and on time. I was taken right to my airline. I'm not positive but I believe it was a 15 minute drive. The way home was the same.. Lots of walking through Ohare just follow the red signs. Super convenient and didn't have to impose on friends for a ride!
Had a great time here for Flashback Weekend. I had a minor incident & they were quick to make things right even though I expected nothing. The manager is super friendly as was the entire staff. My husband & I will definitely be back. Thank you!
I love this hotel a d the always accommodating staff. So friendly and nice. The A/V guy Don is literally the best. He goes above and beyond every year helping out at the conventions being held there. Such a nice professional in the business of hospitality. He should run that entire hotel.
I cannot feel more grateful for this Hotel, the General Manager and the staff. I've made a huge mistake on my reservation and they helped to change the date and not charge me at all. The facility is beautiful and well laid, the rooms are enormous, clean and modern, the location is great to catch early flights and even get to downtown. I really loved my experience with Crown Plaza Chicago O'Hare!!! The best service ever!
The service and amenities we're good and the beds were comfortable. The restaurants in the hotel we're also very good. Had a training session in one of their conference rooms and it was pretty nice. My only complaint was in my room the heat and A/C unit did not seem to adjust the temperature at all and stayed on the cool side in the room and the conference room was cold most of the time we were there even though we did ask to adjust the temperature. They also had shuttle buses that ran back and forth to the airport every half hour on the hour and I was able to use this to get from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport when I left and was a nice amenity. Overall I was pleased with my stay.
