Great view from my room, on the 9th floor. I can see the Capital Building and other government landmarks. I am also in the older part of town with a lot of shops and boutiques.
Booked at a special rate which included dinner and breakfast. Upon check in I received a voucher. Went to over to bar/restaurant area and it was abandoned. The gentlemen at the desk said that the bartender never showed up for work. There was nothing he could do for us. Upon checkout I explained it to another gentlemen and again he said there was nothing he could do. I paid a $30 uber from airport and also had to pay $50 for a great meal across the street as I only booked this hotel for the falsely advertised promotion. Manager said he would take care of it but has done nothing at all. A few extra points would have sufficed.
The rooms are newly renovated, lovely and clean and very comfortable -- especially the beds! Location is also perfect -- very close to the beautiful stretch of riverfront parks, I took my elderly crippled dog there by stroller multiple times daily. We are eager to return again, and will definitely stay at this hotel, it's our clear favorite in Alexandria.
I started this review off at 4 stars, due to some things that are annoying on arrivall: First of all, they have a beautiful giant fitness room that is 100% closed "due to covid". I don't understand why this is still the case; most other hotels (including ones in the area) have, by now, either opened them up with mask and occupancy restrictions, or via a reservations system. Parking is both expensive and nightmarish: the garage is a confusing maze of extremely tiny spots, and costs $32/night -- higher than in most cities -- whereas monthly parking when I lived there recently was $90/month, cheaper than in most cities. (That said, I was still glad to have the option, and took it). And since the renovation is so recent, there are a few glitches, eg coffee makers and fridges not working. So I started off a bit annoyed, but my dog and I ended up having one of the loveliest long weekends of our lives. Desk staff is also very friendly and helpful, and it was nice that they had some food for sale in the lobby both morning and evening. So it's about 4.5 stars, but I'd call it 5 stars if they opened the gym and made sure all the room appliances were working, which will hopefully be the case soon.
It was a great stay. They are clean, near National harbor and such a quaint city with several eateries. You will not be disappointed.

Staff is extremely nice, but fridge didn't work, we had to ask for more towels and our room was never serviced - we were staying with them for two days
The staff are doing a good job trying to do their best in this pandemic. The hotel is well maintained. It is a shame the restaurant is closed but a very nice place.
We made a reservation here for the inauguration. The authorities have asked that people not travel to the DC area for the inauguration for security reasons. We had a nonrefundable reservation. I figured for a matter of national security they would make an exception, especially since my understanding is that there is a need for housing for the beefed up security presence. I would even be happy to donate my room to them. I contacted them online and was told that the General Manger had requested that anyone who wanted to cancel a room call them personally. I did, twice, and his/her mailbox is full. I guess I'm paying for a room that I can't use and that it will sit empty when someone else could be using it.
SSOTA rocks customer service for group bookings!
Had a last minute situation in which I had seven of our Dept of Defense federal employees suddenly needing rooms for anywhere from one to two weeks. Reached out to Sheraton Suites Old Town Alexandria and their Director for Sales & Marketing, Karen Regen-Baum, worked closely with me to make that happen. Her willingness to be creative in finding solutions at a competitive rate was huge in dealing with my folks who'd been displaced from their situation through no fault of their own. Karen and the front desk staff at SSOTA were heroes to me in helping care for our people.
Karen and her team will be my first call the next time I book a block of rooms for one of our organization's events!
First time here- loyal Marriott customer. Very clean, well appointed, spacious suites. Beautiful lobby. Would definitely stay here again.
Hot water was room temperature, the hotel’s power went out during my stay, parking ramp elevators aren’t working so I had to walk up and down hill entrance with heels on. You would think they’d have temporary valet parking but I was charged $64 instead. I was unable to go out on the patio and use other amenities because of renovations. There was no discount offered for any of these things. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
We were pleasantly surprised with this beautiful hotel. It was clean, modern, quiet, in a pretty good location, and the beds were super comfy. The best part was it was pet friendly and dogs stay free! They have a parking garage right next door (for an extra $30/night) and aside from the elevator being out of service, it was very convenient - we used our key card to come and go as we pleased. The staff was nice, and even though the restaurant was being renovated during our stay and we could not take advantage, we had a really pleasant stay. Our dogs loved it too! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would definitely return again!
Beautiful guestrooms, super clean, excellent staff the only drawback is the elevator shakes you for 45 seconds before it drops you off

The hotel has a great location And great room types but the guest service is that of a motel 6.General manager cares more about currency then your experience at their property.Rooms need to be sanitized handles And most of the surfaces That you would touch are not.
Simple math. 9 floors x 36 rooms x 1 Washer and 1 Dryer for the entire hotel = 3-Star rating. I get a suite vs. a normal hotel when I'm staying long-term so I can do things like have a fridge and take care of laundry. Put some real laundry facilities on your property or else I don't care how nice your lobby and your rooms are. Don't pretend to be a good long-term stay location and then skimp on the important things.
