If you want to wait while someone is waiting for thier flight at the gate you need to get a guest pass 24 hours before thier flight you have to call the airport to get it I didn't know so I sat and listen to the jazz band play

A bit of an unexpected thing to say, but this airport is great. It's HUGE. I don't call that out because it's filled with stores, shops, etc. I just say it because you don't feel on top of every other passenger. There's a ton of room to navigate the floor, find seats in the lounges, navigate security, etc. It just works well.

Kindness is the first thing that comes to mind upon arriving in New Orleans.
The smiles! Such friendly people! Love it here already.
The airport has great amenities. Very clean. Easy to get around.
Love all of the food options and gourmet shopping. They love their state!

I don’t usually review airports but this airport is very clean and well maintained. It has a Chilis 🌶️ , Chiq-fil-a, and plenty of New Orleans style food options, after you go through check-in. I was disappointed in the TSA staff member who told me I would have to go back through the line to drink an unopened health supplement drink I picked up at a local market. Needless to say put it in your checked bag 🧳.

MSY was an easy airport to navigate. If you are renting a car, keep in mind that you must be bussed to your rental car. It isn't walkable. It only took about 15 minutes. Add that extra time in your itinerary. Lots and lots of shopping is available. They sell a lot of New Orleans/Mardi Gras gifts etc. Restrooms were very clean. Would recommend flying into MSY.

Louis Armstrong Airport, named as a tribute to the brilliant, charismatic, jazz artist, is New Orleans, Louisiana well run international airport.
There's lots of shops and restaurants which are unique to the city. The aisles are wide, flanked by eateries, shops, gates, and waiting areas.
Everything is ADA compatible.
The airport shines. Even the serpentine baggage conveyor belts are spotless.
Traffic is well handled with categories such as taxis, private pickup, and Uber/Lift easily found.

This is a wonderful airport to fly into! I’ve now been in all three areas and they all work perfect. Clean, organized, awesome plentiful bathrooms and good food!! I recommend Emeril’s Table. Worth every penny!
This is definitely on my top 10 airports to fly in and out of. Nashville TN is still #1…… 😎

Good food choices. Give urself time because it was pretty busy. Had a layover here n found a good spot; terminal not in use to nap. There was also a good family restroom that worked good to freshen up for the day.

07/11/2024 - First time visiting the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The airport is a decent size where it may seem intimidating (lines) and actually well organized. Like most, traditional resemblances per decor. They actually have a wall dedicated to talented airport employees and their works of art. Other artistry is also seen within the airport, and can be heard (music). In essence, this airport is both an art gallery and a museum. The lines move quickly. Always tight security (thank you). Beautiful people, beautiful state, delicious restaurants (per aromas). Easy to maneuver. Highly recommend speaking to airline staff to confirm what the departure and destination digital bulletins display.

Not a large airport so it’s easy to get in and out. It felt clean. Pre-check was fast and there are tasty restaurants here. The pet relief area was clearly marked and sometimes those are hard to find.
The bathrooms were clean and that’s the absolute best part.

Excellent new airport! Much better than the ancient previous terminals. There are some decent dining & drinking options. Be aware all concessions close at 9:40pm (or did while I was here)

I have used this airport a few times for work related travel. Not a bad airport, decent flight selections from various airlines. Facilities are usually pretty clean and kept up, decent selection of stores and places to eat if you have layovers or extra time before or after flights. Most stores and places to eat are a but pricey and at busier times the security lines can get pretty backed up so plan accordingly.

In A Nutshell:
-Wow, Louis Armsrong Airport is probably the nicest or atleast one of the nicest airports in the USA.
-I love the very, very high ceilings & open spaces.
-The TSA checkpoint is centralized & efficient.
-The shops & restaurants like Cafe Du Monde are also nice.
-The Club Lounge was closed when I checked it out wished it had better hours, I also wish there were atleast a restaurant or two to dine at with the $28 credit.
Overall, this is a very luxurious airport for American standards.

This is a midsize airport but is really easy to navigate and get through.
The interior of the main entrance is huge but easy to navigate. It was a little bit busy because of the incoming hurricane and a lot of people wanting to leave but still got through TSA PreCheck really quick.
Then once past security, there is a lot of shopping and food options. And it is an easy airport to navigate.
And if you need help finding something, the staff are helpful and friendly.

Great airport. We usually fly here during Christmas because of convenient nonstop flights from our home city. It’s nice. Nice Clear and TSA staff, clean, and friendly people at ticketing (not the best people in my opinion) . Small United Lounge food but it’s alright (located near Gate C5) . But the food there was tasty though. The lady there that checked us in for us to enter the lounge was super nice. People at the gate was nice as well. So, to sum it up, great airport. 3rd favorite airport out of all the rest I been to, not the best though. Anyways, great airport. Other than the elevators that they have there haha :P .

Airports can be a tricky review. One trip every thing can be awesome and another trip it can be a nightmare with some rating in between the two.
MSY has been pretty consistent in being a very good experience. Everyone that I have encountered has been kind and courteous including the businesses on sight.
Having a band play in the lobby is a nice touch! Bathrooms are kept clean. All areas appear to be clean and organized.

The updates they made to the airport are phenomenal (except for the entry roads leading up to the airport, but that’s for a different review lol). It’s SO nice and feels “luxury” as far as airports go. The design and architecture are both so modern and a lot of efficiencies were made in the way people enter, check bags, go through security, and board their planes. I travel a decent amount and would say it’s now in my top 3 favorite airports.

The new MSY terminal is definitely an upgrade compared to the old terminal. Logistically, parking and rental shuttles as well as rideshare services all use one curb which alleviates some of the traffic for passenger pick-up. Navigating through the airport could be challenging if you’re new to the terminal and you use the shuttle service upon arrival. All shuttle services drop the passengers on the lower level which is the same level and baggage claim. A passenger should enter the main doors and proceed to floor 3 for check-in with the individual airlines. The airlines are along the wall, and most have Customer Service agents ready to assist upon arrival. After checking in, passengers should then proceed to floor 2 where there is a central TSA checkpoint for all gates and airlines. Good news, the new terminal now offers Clear along with TSA Pre-Check which is great for frequent travelers. My usual wait time is no more than 10 minutes when traveling through. However, the general line could have longer wait times at peak hours during the day. The new restaurant options are amazing, and I am certain there is an option for fulfill your hunger needs. As far as seating, the new terminal has plenty of seating areas throughout for passenger. You can also find charging ports throughout on some of the seats. The free wifi works fairly well, so if you need to do some work, there should not be any issues. My only negative comment is the Club MSY lounge is usually full, and the wait time could run into your flight time which means you will have to sit in the terminal. The views are amazing, but if you’re looking to get away from the noise, and try some of the amazing food the lounge offers, then I suggest you arrive at the three hour window ahead of your flight to ensure you can have at least an hour in the lounge. Other than that, the staff is friendly throughout the terminal, and I haven’t had any issues with the restaurants throughout. I have tried several, and the food was good at each one. Overall, you can expect a new experience in the new terminal. Even at the peak, I was still able to find seating in the terminal. When I don’t have enough time to sit and eat, I usually order takeout. The food is usually ready within 10-15 minutes. I would recommend traveling through MSY to access destinations worldwide.

Pretty cool airport, it looks like they refurbished it and created a whole new terminal but it looks great and upgraded, even the bathrooms which look out on the apron! Pretty cool and looks advanced, the only issue is the car rental place is a shuttle away so that can take a while to get there.

Really nice airport. It reminded me of the newer sections of O’hare or Midway (I can’t recall) with the restaurants in the center. It was well laid out, I didn’t have to walk super far to get out. It wasn’t super noisy either. Cute jazz band in the lobby of retired military men.

Fantastic airport, first time flying and I'm glad I went out of here! We were quick to get through security and the selection of restaurants and places to get a snack are amazing. Very spacious as well, and bright to boot! I took a southwest flight out of here and it was very bumpy, so fun! It was like a roller coaster ride.

Airport is spacious and well organized. We had a flight departing at 10:50am, we arrived at the airport at 9:30am and got to our gate at 9:45am. The security line went by really fast, there were about 10 lines open. I also saw a line for TSA and clear check that had very few people in them. Right when we went thru security, there were signs for gate B and C to the left and gate A to the right. We were gate A1 so ours gate was just a few minutes walking time from security checkpoint, I believe it's gate A1-A6, so even if you're gate A6, it'll probably take you around 5mins to get to your gate if you're in a hurry . There're a lot of food vendors and stores open. There were also a lot of empty seatings with charging stations on them. Bathrooms were clean, I liked how there're family bathrooms and mother rooms here. For arrival, the baggage claim is on the same floor so it took us about 5mins to get to Baggage claim, pickup for arrival is just right in front of baggage claim. I really like the layout and ease of getting from one point to another here. Well designed airport!

Overall a good airport. The lines move quickly and the staff was friendly. With Alaska you can't check in more than 4 hours before your flight so we did have to wait for that. Luckily, there was a military lounge we were able to wait in. The folks working that area were absolutely fabulous and treated everyone who came though very well. Very appreciative of their efforts. There arequite a few f restaurants and shops, even though it is a fairly small airport. They also had a live band which was fun too!

Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans is excellent. I arrived from my Spirit flight around 1:30 Am so it was empty and all the stores were closed. But everything was clean and modern. Baggage Claim was easy. And the Taxis are already at the airport and can get you to your hotel very fast. Overall I had a very good and easy experience.

Nice new airport! Clean, open, charging ports at the seats, great restaurants and shops. TSA is some of the nasitest I've seen, came in with an attitude first thing in the morning for no reason. And I also don't know why the rental cars are still so far away from the terminal and require a 15-minute shuttle bus ride.

Easy access and beautiful as well. The single access point for all of the concourses is easy to navigate and the wall of windows provides a great view as you travel through. Lots of shops and restaurants to choose from.

Beautiful place with a lot of remodeling going on. The only downside is getting to your rental car is a long bus ride to the other side of the airport... bus driver was awesome and rental car company was super fast though. Nice stores in the airport, and the security was nice a quick (I'm also TSA Precheck though).

Love the wide, open areas of this airport's newer terminals. Thank you Cesar Pelli, may you rest-in-peace.
The restaurant spaces looked very comfy and inviting. They make me want to arrive much earlier next time to try a couple.
Oh and the bathrooms were the best airport bathrooms I've been to--and cleanest.
I hope they move the rental car center to the new section because now you have to take a 15-minute bus ride. There were busses lined up and waiting, so catching a bus was quick.

This airport is the cleanest one I have ever seen and I have been traveling over 50 years! The ladies room was immaculate the toilet plastic cover automatically changes and the attendant was there to help me. The actual handicap stall was to narrow.
All employees that I encountered were courteous, professional and so kind.

MSY looks really nice and is nearing the end of a renovation project. Great aesthetic and vibe in most of the airport. Terminal B is a bit crammed though compared to Terminal A and other areas that are quiet and spread out. We tried to visit the Club MSY lounge but it was at capacity with a minimum 30 minutes wait. The pre-check line was a little slower than other airports (part of the issue was the passengers ahead of us). There is a Cafe du Monde location worth getting beignets and cafe au lait on the way out.

This is one of the nicest airports i have been to. It was clean, spacious and had a unique design layout. Their concept of moving food and shops to the center was a novel idea.

The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is one of the best airports we have come through anywhere in the world. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Nice, new'ish terminal building.
If renting a car, add 30 minutes to each end of your trip to catch and ride the rental center shuttle bus. The center is located a distance from the airport and is less than convenient.

Well organized and run airport. Lots of options for food in different terminals.
Delta airlines check-in counter seems to open around 3:45am. Make note of that if you have a 5:30am flight and the airport prompts you to check your bags 2 hours prior to the flight.
Most of the TSA employees were very friendly and helpful.
Gift shops have lots of cute NOLA items.
Also, if you have a very early flight, note that a lot of the food options will likely be closed at the time of entering your terminal area. It looks like a handful of them start opening up between 4am and 5am.

Hadn't been through the New Orleans new terminal until today. One central TSA screening line for all flights, so plan accordingly. Plenty of signage to get you to the right spot. Various photo's of the terminal. The rental car facility is in the old terminal on the opposite side of the runway from the new terminal. About a 20 minute shuttle bus ride.

This is my favorite airport thus far in the United States. The bathrooms are kept extremely clean. The airport is only about 4 years old so everything is new. It has a vast selection of restaurants to choose from. Also, it has a great selection for keep sakes and souvenirs. I picked up some hot sauce while on my layover and it was delicious. All the workers there were also very friendly and helpful. It honestly made me want to extend my trip from a layover to a full blow vacation! Good job Louisiana, you take the prize for favorite airport in the south

A Fantastic Experience at New Orleans Airport (MSY)-
I had a wonderful experience at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport! The security checkpoint was impressively efficient—well-staffed, quick, and organized, which made the process smooth and stress-free.
The cleanliness of the airport stood out as well. From the terminals to the restrooms, everything was spotless and well-maintained, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment. The modern design and spacious layout add to the overall appeal, making it a breeze to navigate.
The combination of efficiency, cleanliness, and a vibrant atmosphere truly reflects the charm of New Orleans. I’ll definitely look forward to flying through MSY again!

This is actually a decent airport where the check in desk agents and tsa staff were polite and friendly. Security lines weren't a huge hassle and apparently oneworld sapphire status gets you fast track which was a positive. It is spacious and airy throughout the terminal pre security and post security and I don't feel choking or claustrophobic unlike other airports. Arriving domestically was rather a nightmare with my bags priority tagged but showing up way after most passengers without status had their bags on the carousel. I would definitely consider flying direct on the British flight to this airport when going international.

This is a good size airport, with many restaurants, cafe and self serve options. Very clean and easy to navigate.
Shuttle to rental car center come around often, however our experience with the rental car center wasn’t as pleasant, and that’s not the airport’s fault, it definitely falls on the rental car company’s incompetency (Dollar / Avis) .

There are a large number of restaurants in this airport but no real directory. You cannot see all the options because the restaurants back up to eachother, so you really need to walk around the blocks of restaurants or look in the little nooks to see your options. We wanted something New Orleans based but settled on the hot dog place because we couldn’t find an option. Of course, after spending extremely too much on a hot dog and fries, we saw Emerils….where we probably would have had a better meal and paid less.
The airport is huge and it is great being greeted by live jazz music.
The car rental facility is super far away and you need the shuttle. It takes a good 40 minutes to use the shuttle service to get to rentals. Plan accordingly.
Baggage arrived in a decent amount of time. It wasn’t quick but it certainly wasn’t as slow as MDW.

Very nice airport. Easy to get into and out of. Takes about 10 minutes to get to and from the car rental area. Shuttle bus was available very quickly both times we were there. Security was very easy as long as you followed the rules. Bathrooms were well kept up on and super clean Everyone was pretty friendly and we had no issues

MSY impresses with its well-designed layout and convenience. The HUGE airport boasts a pleasant atmosphere complemented by a range of amenities. From efficient security checks to a variety of dining and shopping options. It was a comfortable stay while waiting for my flights. The staff have been consistently friendly and helpful, adding to the positive experience. I think that it's the cleanliness, accessibility, and overall smooth flow of operations, which makes MSY stands out as a reliable and traveler-friendly airport.
