We arrived in Cincinnati and had a car rental already withThrifty. The problem was I lost my drivers license somewhere in this travel experience. I had a copy of my license but the agent said can’t use it. So my wife had to be the designated driver. That was a stress moment as she didn’t want to drive. We did what we had to do. I applied for a replacement license and got it printed immediately. As we decided this so called full size car is not full size we went to see if we can upgrade to something bigger. Upon arrival at Thrifty we met agent Jane Ray! Jane understood we wanted a larger car. She let us look at what we could get. We picked out a car that was higher off the ground. Jane was so helpful. When I mentioned that I had applied for a new drivers license and had a printed copy. She said let me see everything. She put me on as a driver and all is great. Thank you Jane Ray for taking our stress away! I vote for you to get employee of the year! Great employee and people skills. THANKS Texas style !,
Can't wait til they get to their new facilities
We rented from Dollar but they are in the same building and run by the same people. The counter agents are very good at their jobs, friendly and efficient. The problem is with the customer service and roadside assistance company. BEWARE! Our car broke down, 10 hours from home and we were left sitting in a parking lot for 9 hours. We had to rent a second car out of our own pocket to get home and I still haven't got so much as a response from the company. These people will gladly take your dollars but they will not care when your family is stranded and unsafe.
The individual at the desk kept in trying to up sell me….very pushy. Upgrade to a Suburban; insurance; no need to fill the tank on return we’ll take of that…..of course at a premium. Just left a bad impression right from the start. Also, we went over a toll bridge three times at $6 each time during our vacation travels. I knew the rental car company would bill me….which they did. However, the total cost of the tolls was $18, but my bill to Thrifty (ironic name) was $47.97. The difference was their “administration fee”. I call….money grab…gouge….robbery. Last time we rent from this organization.
Prepaid for vehicle through Priceline as part of travel package. Also paid for insurance. Gal at counter claimed they do not accept that, insisted I had to purchase THIER insurance at an extra $40/day. Told her the insurance I already paid for as good enough, but she LIED and told me it was not. Ended up paying an extra $200, which, as I found out later was not necessary. I will use taxis, ride shares, and even walk before I ever rent from Thrifty again.
Careful if you are in Cincinnati and renting from Dollar and unaware the they merged with Hertz. I was not. I waited for close to an hour at the Dollar pick up area for van. Then learned from the Enterprise driver Hertz is the van to take. No Dollar signage on the Hertz van. I let them know at the counter. The receptionist laughed. At me? Not sure. And they were aware of this situation as it had happened to others.
Worst customer service of my life. Waiting in line for the rental car took 3 hours. My flight only took 1 hour. Additionally, they don’t accept a digital credit card so family had to Venmo me money to cover the cost of the rental. Worst customer service I’ve ever had in my entire life and bet my bottom dollar I will NEVER use thrifty again. This place is theft and should have been put out of business years ago. Thrift sucks!
Horrible customer service…not helpful at all. I don’t understand how they can even still be in business. There’s a reason their cars are cheaper. “You get what you pay for” really applies here. Do yourself a favor and rent somewhere else…. You’ve been warned.
Very bad, we got a car and we were going to the Hampton Inn, but in the first 2 minutes the check engine light came on. So we went back and got a second car, that car kept beeping like someone's seetbelt wasn't buckled so the whole drive was annoying, all the way one star
Ok so I have a question, we have a rental reservation for 05/14/2021 for a premium suv (SUBURBAN). What is the scenario if there’s no suburbans or similar at the time of pick of when I have a reservation?
Rented a car in Phoenix and we were talked into getting a larger car and when we went to return it the bill was $500. More. We had said no to the insurance and we had to pay for it. They it was our word against the thrifty employee. If you look at our rental car history, we never get the insurance. Will never rent from then again and will let friends and family know. Service was terrible and was very rude to my husband! Shame on you Thrifty car rental.😠
Dont deal with Priceline with them cuz price line sucks
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. WE RENTED A CAR THROUGH THEM AND THEY WERE TRYING TO CHARGE US A TON MORE FEES THAN WE HAD AGREED UPON. The woman working was also INCREDIBLY rude (3/15/20 is the day we went to return the car). We had the rental agreement in our other car that we left at home before leaving for our trip. This lady was trying to make us pay so much more than we had agreed to and said we had 1 hour to find the contract and THREATENED us. Absolutely horrible!!!!!!! Will NOT be going there again.
The absolute worst customer service. Watch your cards carefully they always find a way to charge more than what they tell you. Scam artists.
Thrifty was a very frustrating place to rent from. I had already booked and paid for 2 cars before arriving, but then when we arrived they charged us a lot of money for fees and insurance. The insurance was optional, but we felt as if we had to get it. We thought each car would be close to $200, but instead turned out to be close to $500! We couldn’t even figure out what some of the fees were for.
The lady at the counter was super kind, and the cars worked great. But I wouldn’t rent from them again.
Rated 1 star since 0 is not an option.
Do not, repeat, DO NOT rent from Thrifty at the Denver airport. Not only are the agents there pushy and rude, they will rip you off by charging a $15 "administrative fee" for any tolls incurred. Even though I could pay the tolls directly through Express Toll.
They call this a "service" to their customers, but it is a flat out rip off. I will never use this trash company again and suggest that everyone avoid them as well.
Nice staff and good price
Even with a credit card, they still hold an additional $200 deposit which isn’t mention anywhere. The maintenance light came on while in our possession. They told us we could return the car at anytime which wasn’t true. We arrived back in town 2:32am drove all the way to Thrifty for them to be closed.

Beautiful place nice people I'm not going to talk about the price I love the people here I like both manager Jimmy Bridget Leah ED Fernando Sam Victor Tyler Sarah and Pat
They should tell customers with early morning flights that they are open to return vehicles at 4:30am.I was told they close at 11pm and open at 7am which has caused me to lose precious moments with my family and now I have to sit in the airport for 6 hours. I purchased the rental car for 3days, but turned vehicle in early due to inaccurate website and customer service agent giving out misleading information.
Staff was really helpful when our preferred car was not available. I appreciate their attention to detail!
My overall experience at this Thrifty location was positive! I only had to wait about 5 minutes before the shuttle van picked me up. The pickup location was clearly marked, so no need for guessing. There was no line when I got there and the customer service agents were friendly. The process was simple and they took my personal car insurance for vehicle coverage. Free upgrade, since they were out of compact cars. I needed a couple extra hours before I could return it so I called and asked and it was no problem. Happy Customer.
We booked a one way rental from Cincinnati to Chicago for a flight we booked from Chicago. It was reasonably priced and the car and service was good.
New car (less 300mi). Nice staff. Ok pricing. Only issue was low tire pressure so had to stop at gas station to air up rental.
