Street Parking Near MSG

Finding on-street parking near Madison Square Garden is tough, especially at the time of major events. Use our time-saving tips to speed up the MSG parking process:

  • Check out parking availability on apps like Smooth Parking before starting the trip to see where to look for a spot—it will show you the nearby streets where parking is allowed
  • NYC Street Parking Info can also be helpful—metered parking rates near MSG are $4.00 or $4.50 per hour, depending on the street zone
  • It’s easier to find a spot in the evenings and on weekends when there are fewer restrictions, but you have to come earlier on the day of the event
  • Free parking is available on Sundays, but it’s also often unattainable unless you come hours before the event
  • Please pay attention to the car parking signs and read them carefully before leaving your vehicle to avoid getting an NYC parking ticket

Accessible Parking for Madison Square Garden Visitors

If searching for disabled parking spots, you can park on streets and avenues around the arena, but you need to own a New York City Special Parking Permit. The permit contains information on the parking rules and regulations, so you should read it in advance to see where to park.

Getting to The Garden

Stay away from public parking hassle and use public transportation to get to Madison Square Garden. Using the subway is cheaper and more simple since MSG is placed right above Penn Station—take a train (1, 2, 3, A, C, or E) to the 34th Street/Penn Station to get to the venue stress-free! You can also hop on another train line to the 34th Street/Herald Square stop, which is one block away from Madison Square Garden. Alternatively, several MTA bus lines run to the 7th Avenue/Penn Station: M4, M10, M16, M34, and Q32. The fare is as low as $2.75.
