This was my first time flying and I will say I was super stressed prior to leaving. But to my surprise it was nothing to stress about. I arrived about 45 minutes prior to departure, but already had boarding pass on my phone, so that was helpful. The airport was very busy ( the week of December 18th) but still well maintained and the staff I interacted with were helpful & kind. They really made my first experience easy & quick. From quick check in at kiosk, to airport security scanning, to boarding quick easy process.

Austin airport is small to handle the flow of international and domestic travelers.

Traffic is also a big problem in peak time.

For app rides you need to get out and take the elevator to the 2nd floor and wait there at the designated area number with color it’s a little bit of walk above the rental car floor. Rest rooms are ok. Decent food options as well. There is Einstein bros and bagel if you are a bagel 🥯 person.

Better to be early sometimes the security check is packed with people.

This is a great airport. TSA is really quick and lines just chomp through. The workers here aren't mean but they aren't as serviceable as I'd like, but considering what you'd get in America sometimes, it's pretty good. The airport layout is pretty straightforward but they could definitely use a lot more escalators to walk from place to place and estimates of travel time.

Decent enough smaller sized airport compared to DFW. Security was rather unfriendly due to the peak hour rush at 6pm on a Saturday evening preceeding a bank holiday Monday. The check in desk for Alaska airlines was no hassle at all and the lady was friendly. Had plenty of time for a smoke and the security/tsa guys who were on their break were chatty and happy to talk traveling. You don't need to take out your computer at some of the scanning areas. On the other hand international departures looked like a giant mess- there was a British flight leaving to London around the same time I checked in at 5:15pm and boy, the lines were snaking long!!! Sunset from the far left end of the terminal before departures was fantastic- apparently my last one of the trip. You can't get it on the right side. Go to where the cars start pulling up.

Great airport. So quick and easy to get through security (albeit with some issues reading the new black UK passports)

Loads of water fountains so bring your own empty flask

Good choice of shops restaurants etc.

Did take a while for our bags to appear but we didn't seem to come in to the normal arrival area (Frankfurt -Austin)

The buses to and from the airport are cheap and frequent. It's definitely worth installing the CapMetro app and buying a bus pass on that

Modern, clean, and efficient international airport. Plenty of food options, plus a great massage place near the United lounge. Several stores to shop for memorabilia, as well as live music in the terminal. Easy walk to the rental car area across the street.

I really like this airport. My favorite place to stop for a breakfast burrito/ breakfast taco is the Tacodeli. I order 1 flour and 1 corn tortilla breakfast (sometimes w/ ground beef) scrambled eggs, avocado, and tomatoes. I get a lil' verde mild salsa and the medium salsa w/ a side of sourcream. It may not be uniformed, but it is delicious. A definite go-to when wanting a good and quick breakfast on the go.

One of the best airport with food options in the US, most of the restaurants are local born. It has a wide options to choose for a medium size terminal.

Check-in and TSA lines were fast in this experience. I really like the closest location for rental car.

They need to pay better attention on the bathrooms. Low maintenance and kinda of dirty.

Small airport with good food options. The security speed has been increasing but the influx of population to Austin makes it hard for the airport to scale. There are only two lounges here and one of them is so tiny that it fits 6 people hardly.

They're expanding but it might take a decade or a decade and a half. Which explains why some folks drive to Dallas or Houston to get on to an international flight offering cheaper fares.

THE BEST airport food in the entire country, PERIOD. All restaurants are local born, NO franchised restaurants. Yay! You can even eat at the famous Salt Lick BBQ, here in the airport. AND, it’s literally as delicious as the original location in Driftwood, TX, which I’ve eaten at for over 30 years. You can even pick up a brisket to take with you to your final destination.

This airport is clean, well designed, with great signage inside and outside.

Thumbs up. Still overpriced in every way but TSA is quick and efficient unlike other airports like LAX. Good charging ports throughout, comfortable seating and I like the gender neutral bathrooms purely because almost no one uses them, they're clean and you get it all to yourself.

I've been in this airport 6 times now and this is the most stress-free, uncomplicated airport I've ever been in. It's very hard to get lost in this airport. The layout is really simple and straightforward.

There's lots of great shops, places to eat, great coffee. Bathrooms are always clean. Everyone is so nice and helpful and accommodating.

There are lots of hotels shuttles outside the airport that will take you to and from the airport and your hotel. Finding the rental car place is really easy.

Overall, the most stress free airport I've been in. Can't wait to fly in Austin again!

I really like this airport, just make sure you check for which terminal your airline is located. The "main" terminal has undergone a change since I last flew here. The aesthetics are nice and there are a variety of spots for a meal or drink while waiting. Plenty of restrooms, charging stations and water stations. It is not a huge airport so navigating through isn't difficult at all. Overall, my experiences with this airport, have been pleasant and not stressful.

Nice airport to fly in Texas and Austin being one of the growing capital accomdates multiple passenger flyout. There are around 18 terminals with restrooms and cafeteria close to terminals. Parking is located opposite to Arrival/Departure.

Day use-$5/hr or $29/day (if staying before 5hrs better chose day parking)

It may already be busy at 5 am but the place is always very efficient.

Great food options and it seems gates are easy to move between.

Nice to see art everywhere and one exhibit is an interimaginary gate where travelers may depart to the Matrix, Hogwarts and other places far away from one's current reality.

Dropped our luggage at the express bag drop as we exited our Uber (took less than 5 minutes), made our way quickly through TSA, and then into the United Club Lounge. All under under 20min. So smooth, professional, and efficient! Well done, United!

Had a layover in Austin. A very nice Airport. I enjoyed walking around all checking out the different stores. The food places smelled really good. The design and variety of this airport really highlighted what Austin is known for- music and food. I plan to come back.

Very quick. Just two international flights from the UK. One baggage reclaim belt and good level of passport control plus global entry if needed. Staff are polite. Big difference from JFK

Nice cute airport that I have seen grow in traffic but not much in the terminal building itself. This airport is within the city and relatively new.Opened in 1999. It's easy to get in and out of the airport. One of the few airports where rental is right at the airport itself. There is only one terminal in Austin.

Things I noticed during this trip is the art installation "Michael Singer Studio, Uplifted Ground, 2015" (See my photos). You can't miss it, if you are picking up a car at the car rental. It is unusual just like Austin.

The food at the airport is like a continuation of your Austin experience. Flying in to Austin from countries outside of North America or Latin America will require a stopover at another US airport other than going to London on British Airways or Frankfurt on Lufthansa.

Our family flew to Austin via this airport, everything went smooth. We had to bus back and forth from the main terminal to the south terminal so you should add some time for that; I’d give this 5 stars if there were more frequent shuttle buses (or busses depending on your preference). We rented a car and that process went smooth. The Alamo staff was very friendly and made the process easy.

Easy access to short term and long term parking. There’s also plenty of parking space for this busy summer travel time. I was hesitant to leave my vehicle for an extended period but I’m happy to report that all was safe and sound upon return. The staff was easy to reach for questions and the gates were easily accessible.

Checking in for flights was a short wait. Checking our bag was only a few more minutes and the TSA line was not too terrible (nothing compared to the line we encountered in Seattle.)

Upon boarding, communication was clear from the boarding staff and when additional bags needed to be checked, we did and encountered no problems at all.

The restrooms in the facility were clean and easily accessible and well as the little market with bottled water!

Every thing was conveniently located and easily accessible.

Pretty neat airport. It's clean. I noticed one thing. The nice quality of the toilet tissue LOL! It was super thick! Not kidding. I was like this type of tissue should be in a 5 star hotel not at an airport. That was so unexpected.

When I arrived in Jan 2021, it was easy for me to get to the pick up area. So far, nice first impression of the airport.

Never been to Austin airport before & it was my first time visiting this airport due to connecting flight. The southwest terminal is filled up with the Food options. It is heaven for vegan and vegetarian people. Staff at guest Service desk was helpful. Plenty of walk involved. Very clean and well maintained. The gate signs are prominently marked and prices for food is reasonable. Lots of options for bar, and BBQ. Separate lounge are on 2nd floor. This terminal doesn’t have usual food options on the airport such as McDonald or Burger King but have restaurants which are locally owned. You will get to experience traditional Texas Taste!

Check in was quick (I think we arrived around 12:30 and were at our gate by 1:15), security was as smooth as possible (I almost always have to have my bag searched because I carry colored pencils in a tin).

My favorite part of this airport was was art installation of the infinity departure gate, with all sorts of different fictional destinations and an interactive ticket machine (the QR codes didn't seem to work but we still took pictures of our fictional tickets).

Also, their chairs have charging plugs built into them so everyone can have a place to plug in. Very nice!

I love the art, it is a well lit and inviting airport. I really enjoyed our visit.

This airport is so clean - bathrooms, gates, hallways. So much better than most. Great selection of local restaurants and fun bars. Bonus of live music and local art displayed throughout. It’s easy to navigate and quick to get through security. A nice design and well kept. The garages are convenient. It’s really easy to fly through Austin.

I love the updates to the Austin Airport, a lot more to offer now compared to when I was a kid growing up and traveling. There are various areas for live music, a variety of places to eat. I enjoyed the two tacos I ordered as a result of my delayed flight from Austin to Chicago.

This airport is on the smaller side when you think of airports. There are no concourse trains, you walk to your gate and it really doesn't take long to do that. There are more than enough restaurants, bars, and coffee spots. They also seem to do a pretty good job of moving people into and out of the airport. Never had any delays for my flight. Sometimes the security lines are really long but just plan ahead and you'll be fine.

This is a review based solely on connecting flights here at the airport. I don’t have any comments on the actual security or check in process coming into the airport.

The inside of the airport is fantastic. It’s modern, has warm colors, and the giant floor-to-ceiling windows lining both sides throughout the entire airport.

The amenities are really nice as well inside the airport. Lots of good restaurants, plenty of seating, and clean restrooms are scattered throughout.

The lounges are also nice and luxurious on the second level of the airport, allowing for a quiet experience with a nice view.

This is one of the greatest airports I’ve ever flown through. All gates are in one terminal, making it incredibly convenient. There are (I counted!) 40 restaurants and 17 shops that are easily accessible, representing lots of Austin’s favorite restaurants. A local regulation prevents the restaurants from charging more in their airport locations than at those in the city, so there is no airport price-gouging going on. The only non-local establishment is the coffee behemoth from Seattle.

Restrooms (with lots of stalls!) are never more than a 2-minute walk from any gate.

The airport is airy and bright, flooded with light coming in through the high clerestory windows. Colorful signage adds to the upbeat mood, and music of Austin musicians can be heard live on-stage at the center of the terminal or recorded earlier.

One of the coolest things is at the south end of the terminal, where if you walk up the curving staircase or take the elevator, you can go out to a patio area and watch the planes take off. You do not have to exit security in order to do this. It is never crowded, so if you need a bit of time away from the crowds, this is perfect.

All in all, even in today’s often stressful travel environment, the Austin airport ticks all the boxes for its efforts to make it an enjoyable experience.

Very spacious airport with low crowd. Security took 30 mins because the checkpoints would go through Everything in the bag, but outside of that, no complaints. Lots of taco dishes to choose from. The rental car area is conveniently across the street from the airport. Staff is nice and friendly. The airport is about 15 – 20 minutes from everything.

Going to an airport is like preparing for a marathon. You need to be well prepared.

.

Traveling through Austin Bergstrom makes the hassle of the marathon smooth and comfortable.

.

Located throughout the airport gate section are plenty of restaurants, snack bars, vending machines, and chargers. All of which are perfect for the modern traveler.

.

I personally liked the level of art, culture, and design that has been placed across the airport.

.

Safe travels Y'all!

Nice clean airport. Has some cool culture with murals and a piano for live music. Easy to get in and out of. They need to work on people parking and waiting in the pickup zone. O waited for 15 minutes for my ride and there were 4 cars just parked, idling the whole time.

I really find this airport to be the most user-friendly of all the major city airports in Texas. It is easy to navigate. It is in an area where access traffic is not an issue. It is definitely our family's first choice whenever possible. Just beware, if not approaching from Austin, there is a lot of construction on 71, though it didn't seem to affect the flow of traffic very much.

This is actually a really nice airport. It feels so open and clean. Signage is very good, the staff members are friendly and helpful. The food options are great. The walk from one gate to another is pleasant. I also enjoyed the view from the balcony near the Delta lounge. Definitely a relaxing place to spend some time waiting for your flight.
