Hilton Garden Inn San Antonio Airport South park-and-fly at a glance
Hilton Garden Inn San Antonio Airport South is a park-and-fly lot at 8505 Broadway St, San Antonio, TX 78217. You leave your car in the hotel lot and ride a shuttle about 10 minutes to San Antonio International Airport (SAT). One catch decides everything: this lot enforces a 5-day minimum booking, so it only makes sense for trips of 5 or more days.

What parking costs at Hilton Garden Inn
The rate is a flat $4.95 per day for an uncovered self-park space. There is no covered option at this rate. Because of the 5-day minimum, your floor is 5 days regardless of how long you actually stay.
Here is the math on a typical trip:
Trip length
Cost at HGI ($4.95/day)
Official Economy ($8.00/day)
You save
5 days
$24.75
$40.00

$42.70
A 7-day trip runs about $35 here versus about $56 at the airport's official Economy lot. The longer the trip, the larger the gap. Confirm taxes and any booking fees at checkout, since posted daily rates sometimes exclude them.
Shuttle to the SAT terminal
The shuttle ride from the hotel to San Antonio International Airport (SAT) takes about 10 minutes and runs roughly every 15 minutes. For an early or late flight, call the front desk ahead to confirm the first and last shuttle times so you are not stranded.
Budget the shuttle wait into your airport timing. A 10-minute ride plus a possible 15-minute wait means you should leave the lot at least 30 minutes earlier than you would from an on-airport lot with a 2-minute shuttle.
Honest comparison with other SAT park-and-fly lots
Hilton Garden Inn is not the only cheap option at SAT, and it is not the right pick for everyone. Here is how it stacks up against the real competitive set.

Two honest takeaways. First, Homewood Suites matches the $4.95 rate, rates slightly higher at 4.1 stars with a similar review count, and has no minimum stay noted. If your trip is under 5 days, Homewood Suites is the more flexible equal-price pick. Second, the official on-airport Economy lot at $8.00/day has the most reviews (4,401), a 4.2 rating, and a 2-minute shuttle. For short trips, the official lot often wins on convenience and removes the minimum-stay problem entirely.
Is Hilton Garden Inn worth it?
Yes, for one specific traveler: the person leaving for 5 or more days who wants the lowest rate at SAT and does not mind a 10-minute shuttle. At $4.95/day with a solid 4.0 rating backed by 1,176 reviews, the value on a week-plus trip is hard to beat. A 7-day trip saves you about $21 versus the official lot, and a two-week trip saves over $40.
If you want the cheapest rate but value a slightly higher rating and no minimum, Homewood Suites is the close alternative at the same price.
When this is the wrong choice
Skip this lot if your trip is shorter than 5 days. The 5-day minimum means a 2-day trip still bills you for 5 days ($24.75), which erases the savings and beats the purpose. For short trips, the official Economy lot at $8.00/day with its faster 2-minute shuttle is the better call, and Homewood Suites is the better off-site pick.
Also skip it if you need covered parking (none offered here) or if you cannot tolerate a shuttle wait before an early flight. Travelers who want to walk straight from car to terminal should use an on-airport lot.
How to book
Reserve online ahead of your trip rather than driving up, since park-and-fly rates and space are tied to a reservation. Enter your exact drop-off and return dates, confirm the 5-day minimum applies to your dates, and save your confirmation. On arrival, park in the designated self-park area and catch the shuttle to SAT.
FAQ
Is there really a 5-day minimum?
Yes. This lot only books trips of 5 days or longer. A shorter stay is still billed at the 5-day rate of $24.75, so it is not economical for short trips. Use Homewood Suites or the official Economy lot instead.
How much does it cost to park here?
$4.95 per day, self-park and uncovered. A 7-day trip is about $34.65. Confirm taxes and fees at booking.
How long is the shuttle to the airport?
About 10 minutes to San Antonio International Airport (SAT), running roughly every 15 minutes.
Is it cheaper than parking at the airport?
Yes for longer trips. At $4.95/day it is well under the official Economy lot's $8.00/day. A 7-day trip saves about $21; a 14-day trip saves over $40.
Is there a better-rated lot at the same price?
Homewood Suites matches $4.95/day, rates 4.1 stars, and has no minimum noted. It is the better pick if your trip is under 5 days or you want the higher rating.
I have stayed for close to 40 nights this year at Hilton properties, and in all those nights, I have never had the pleasure of experiencing this level of customer service. My stay at this location was quite an ordeal due to a Microsoft system issue on Friday, July 19th, 2024. Fortunately, I arrived on Thursday, July 18th, 2024, and received a digital room key.
My five clients flying in from El Paso, TX, faced multiple re-routes to Austin, TX, and several delays. They finally arrived at the Hilton Garden Inn in San Antonio in less-than-ideal spirits. As a result, they had to check in individually with my company physical card at the front desk for each individual client reservation.
Despite the challenging circumstances, the front desk agent maintained an exceptionally positive attitude and a wonderful playful demeanor. The Microsoft update had rendered her system completely offline, but she handled the situation admirably. My clients had to wait in the lobby until their reservations could be manually processed, but the front desk agent kept meticulous track of everyone’s status in line and ensured that each guest was attended to.
She managed to process all reservations manually amidst a flood of guests from delayed and canceled flights while maintaining her composure. Her ability to provide a positive experience despite such a difficult situation is commendable. The manager, Melody, also came to her aid when possible, and all the other personnel were called in with master room keys to accompany each guest to their rooms whenever they needed access.
I now truly appreciate the convenience of my Hilton Digital Key Card and will continue to stay loyal to the Hilton family, aiming to hit the highest level of membership. They all came together in a time of digital disaster and took care of myself and my out-of-town clients without hesitation. I truly believe the front desk agent needs not just to be recognized for her fantastic customer service, outstanding organizational skills, and true dedication. She deserves a promotion to pass on her instinctual customer service, problem-solving skills, and to mentor and educate the next generation of Hilton family associates.
I give this Hilton property a 100/100. I will stay at this location every time I am in town, myself and all those under my wing at any company I may be associated with will always choose Hilton properties now and forever.

Hats off to great leadership and customer service. Plus the hotel was spotless and our room was clean and smelled fabulous. Housekeeping was friendly and accommodating. The bar and food service was outstanding.

Overall, the Hilton Garden Inn San Antonio Airport South is a mix of modern charm, mystery smells, and unintentional comedy. Not perfect, but definitely not boring!

It is conveniently located near airport. Getting to this hotel could be a challenge from main road. Staff is helpful and very friendly. Room is cleaned and well maintained. Fitness area is adequate. Breakfast is alright. It is also closed to gas stations and restaurants. There is plenty of parking available. Overall a happy stay.

It's kind of a pain to get to, but hey, what are map apps for. The room was good and the staff was friendly. The tub in my room had some damage that was attempted to be fixed, but it failed. Had a rust ring where the rpair failed. The tub is also a slip and fall accident/lawsuit waiting to happen. The pictures on the website and signs in the hotel indicate a bar and restaurant, but it seemed to be closed down. All in all, I have stayed at way worse, but I have stayed in better Hilton properties.

Greatest place to stay when you are in the Airport area. They have a great restaurant and bar in the evening. Breakfast can be made to order or they have a breakfast buffet. Anytime I come to do business here is where I choose to stay.

We stayed here one night before flying home and were very impressed. The rooms were modern and super clean. Front desk staff were extremely friendly. We ordered food from the restaurant and it was really food. Uber arrangements to get to the airport by the hotel staff was very smooth. All around a great experience thank you!

Very clean rooms, bathroom large and shower spray not too strong just right. Temp control of room perfect . Location very convenient to getting to River Walk maybe one block. We were very happy with the food, breakfast was really good and lots of choices, good bar. Hugo the manager was very friendly and yet professional and helpful. The window coverage allowed us to sleep in til 10:30 after a busy day before and it is quiet at least on weekdays. Staff knowledgeable about the area and helpful. Good value for the area and gets A++ from us. Ray and Diane

The rooms are very nice and clean. Only part I didn't really like is all meals including the breakfast that is free most places, they charge for it. However, the hotel and the staff are very nice.

Had a great weekend at a basketball tournament. Hotel was awesome in taking care of a large group. Mel P at the front desk was awesome and helped me get a room near other family members. I really appreciate the care our group was given. Thank you for a wonderful experience at your hotel.

Our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn San Antonio Airport South was fantastic! Surprisingly, the location was incredibly convenient, situated close to everywhere we wanted to visit. Whether we were heading to the Alamo, the Riverwalk, or the San Antonio Botanic Garden, or any restaurants around, we found it easy and quick to get around the city from the hotel.
The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, providing a perfect retreat after our busy days of exploring. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any questions or needs we had.

This was an enjoyable visit. I had dinner there. Ordering the grilled veggies primavera and a side salad with ranch dressing. The salad was well prepared and the grilled veggie primavera was served hot and fresh. Service from both the server and prepared meal well worth it. My compliments to the chef. 👍🏼👍🏼.

The bathtub was very slippery, we were all scared of falling, it was also very backed up and filled with water. We unscrewed the metal plug and removed a huge clump of hair from the drain, gross. The front desk should keep their supplies fully stocked, people might need something for their room at 5am and they don't have it. The covered pool was nice, no need for sunscreen but the pool is heated, it felt like a hot tub.

5 Stars – Wonderful Stay Thanks to Jan and Elsie!
I had an excellent experience at the Garden Inn SAT South! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome—especially Jan and Elsie, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Their warmth and professionalism truly stood out.
The location is fantastic—convenient and easy to get around. The food was delicious, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day. Every team member I encountered was friendly and helpful, creating a genuinely pleasant atmosphere.
Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area. Thanks again to Jan and Elsie for making my visit memorable!

We booked this hotel last minute after flying in from LA and having an issue with another hotel. While we weren’t familiar with the area, the location turned out to be very convenient.
When we checked in, we requested a room downstairs, which they granted. However, we found a puddle of water on the rug, and our socks got wet. We told the concierge, and she immediately moved us to another room. Unfortunately, that room was dirty, but they cleaned it quickly, and we were all set. We were a bit annoyed but grateful for how fast they responded. To make up for the inconvenience, the concierge gave us complimentary breakfast tickets for our 3-day stay, which was a nice touch.
The breakfast was so good—potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage, hot links, oatmeal, fruit, coffee, and tea. What really made it special was the Mexican lady who helped us. I can’t remember her name but she was so kind and made us feel like we were her own family. When she learned we were from LA and eating at LA time, she gave us containers to take food back to our room. It felt like being cared for by a Tia, and it really made our mornings. Thank you 💛 !
The room was spacious, and parking was $8/day, which you can pay online. Parking was tight at night, but we always found a spot on with a side entrance. The mall was just over the freeway, and we made a few trips to HEB, which was only a 10-minute drive away.
Despite the initial issues, the attentive staff really made a difference, and we'd definitely stay here again.

This is the second time I've stayed here, and the hotel is decent, but what motivated me to leave the review is that I went to the Chili's across the street and it's...to be desired. I decided I'd be paying either the same or less in the hotel restaurant so I decided to give it a try. Great street tacos. They're not like the hole in the wall tacos I recommend you go and search out while in San Antonio, but if you're just wanting to stay in, the restaurant and the service is good.

A great hotel less than a mile east of the airport -- it's easy to find and convenient for local travel. The staff is wonderful, but please know there is an extra charge for overnight parking as well as for meals, which I found well worth the money.

Excellent hotel and location. The hotel is conveniently located off the airport and highway not too far from downtown and centrally between multiple military bases. It appears the hotel was recently renovated and upgraded. The breakfast, staff, and services are exceptional. The gym is a very good size and a small swimming pool. The room is very clean and big, and the bed is very comfortable. There's a bar open in the evening and security on site.

Nice hotel with friendly staff and a good breakfast. We stayed here in April 2024 during the solar eclipse. There was a strong rainstorm at the time, and unfortunately, some water leaked through the window in our room due to the heavy wind and rain. Other than that, the stay was comfortable, and the location next to SAT Airport was convenient. Just a heads-up—this hotel can easily be confused with Hilton Garden Inn San Antonio Airport North, so double-check the address when booking. Overall, a good experience!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Garden Inn and it was nothing short of exceptional. I have stayed at several hotels around the globe, and this particular stay has made a mark on my travel experiences. Upon my arrival, the hotel staff greeted me warmly and were extremely efficient in the check-in process. It's their attention to detail and genuine hospitality that set a positive tone for the rest of my stay.

Service and location was great. They have a pretty good breakfast buffet. The room was sub-par; they over condition the water and there were no useful chairs in the room.

This was surprisingly nice! Our airline placed us here after our flight was diverted to San Antonio. We had low expectations, but everything within the hotel was solid! The front desk goes the extra mile to help customers - they supplied us with toiletries because all of our luggage was lost and helped us to use the complicated airline vouchers (effectively splitting our bill on four different “cards”). Gabby in particular is a gem. The breakfast buffet was exactly what I’d expect. Room was clean and spacious - a welcome relief after an exhausting journey! We did notice a police officer patrolling the lobby when we arrived around 3 am - other reviews note security issues for parked cars, so maybe the patrol is a means of addressing this. The hotel arranged complimentary Lyft/Uber rides to and from the airport. Overall, we had a great, if unexpected, stay. Recommended!
