Hampton Inn (SDF)

I didn't want to give this a 3 star review, so I stuck with the 4, because Hampton's are normally amazing and accommodating, but they were at the tail-end of a remodel (literally a day or two later and it would have been done). But because of that, both the pool and the fitness rooms were closed, but I didn't see any messages on their Website about the closures like they normally do.

However, we were allowed to use the facilities at another hotel across the parking lot, that was a nice gesture and we took them up on it, but it's not the same having to walk back after you are done.

Also, the door to our room was extremely hard to open. (Room 423 if Hampton is reading this). Our daughter couldn't push it open by herself.



Now, everything else was up to the Hilton/Hampton standards. The room was clean, the staff was great, and the free daily breakfast is always filling and a nice addition to the trip.

Staff remained cordial and helpful even when attending to a large group with demands. Our room was clean and comfortable, and my husband said that the biscuit, gravy, and eggs he had for breakfast were good. Check-in and check-out were handled efficiently. We enjoyed our stay.

The front area was under construction. They was sanding all the mud off the walls for days.so much dust to walk though.

Rooms where very nice. With PGA happening the rooms was very expensive. And to have to walk over to a different hotel to grab snacks and drinks. No vending machines or snack room...

I stayed here because I was attending an event at the convention center. The hotel was walking distance to the convention center, which was really nice. I believe the hotel also offers a shuttle to and from the convention center but I did not use it. It was also an easy drive downtown.



The rooms were a bit dated and I spotted a few cobwebs. However, the room was clean, the bed comfortable and I had no issues.

Just stayed here last night (sept 2021). Entire staff was nice; front desk, cleaning lady, breakfast room attendant, nighttime security guy. All said hi and seemed genuinely nice and in a good mood. Room was nice and clean. Carpet a little old but everything else was in good condition. Pool was closed for some sort of chemical treatment (wasn’t planning on swimming anyway) but looked nice and had seating all around. Would stay again.

Check in was just delightful, the room was so comfortable and the shower was really freaking awesome! I hope my travels brings me here again as I would definitely stay here again.

Popped in for an overnight and was a great experience. Manager (Jennifer I think is her name) went to the back of kitchen to get me teabags late at night with no complaining. In the morning I needed tape and the front desk guy went and found some. At some hotels they'd just say don't have it / can't leave the desk. Staff is very friendly and kind. Room was sanitary and plenty of space and amenities for 2

I stayed at this location for two weeks and I really enjoyed it. The staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast was tasty! The cleaning staff did a great job with my room. It was a very comfy and cozy hotel. Loved having the 24/7 shuttle also. Also loved the closeness to downtown and the expo center. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will return in the future.

Everyone was amazing and friendly. The front desk and house keeping were very attentive. The shuttle drivers were timely, friendly and extremely careful. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast staff. Everything was clean, hot bar was always stocked, cold items were well managed and the staff warm and friendly. We would absolutely stay here again next year. Thank you everyone.

The staff was amazing and so courteous. It's a nice place to stay. Only bad thing beds are a little small. But all in all it was a really good experience.

I stayed here twice. Couldn't ask for nice staff . The shuttle driver Ed was a great help. I'm disabled and her made sure he was there to pick me up after the concert .

Desk clerk was outstanding...very nice and professional. Driver was great...would recommend too anyone.

The bathroom was a bit dark over the shower area, but the room was clean and neat. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall stay was good. would recommend.

Our stay has been comfy and cozy with a pretty good continental breakfast to get the day started. The staff is very courteous and has helped with a couple things we had forgotten at home!! Thank you all!!

This Hampton has the nicest staff. Everyone goes out of their way to be helpful and kind. The property is currently being renovated, but it's nothing intrusive and the room was very clean.

If your looking for an awesome hotel to stay with wonderful people working there late at night look no further this is your place. Great staff, clean big rooms temp in room was perfect to help you fall asleep, bathroom clean and free of mold. Plus it is smoke free and it DOES NOT smell like marijuana like a lot of other hotels.

Not a bad place to stay. I felt comfortable, slept well, breakfast was great. Quiet place to relax.

Our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was hot, good and convenient. Courtney at the front desk was friendly and attentive. Parking was free.

We didn't plan on staying here, but American Airlines put us here for a night due to flight cancellations/delays. It was quick, they were friendly, it was clean, it was safe. We couldn't have asked for a closer place or better staff amidst frustrating circumstances.

The hotel is certainly a four star and they are in the process of renovating. So what should you be aware of right now? The pool is not functioning, but you can use neighboring hotels’ pools. The beep beep beep of the construction vehicles starts shortly after 7AM. The breakfast is amazing!! Staff is super nice and very accommodating. The rooms will soon be renovated so I don’t want to say too much but I hope they get taller potties (would be bad for an older person) and fix the water pressure. Also, a microwave in the room would be nice, but they let us use the one in the breakfast area. Overall we really liked it.

The staff has been very friendly and helpful we appreciate how clean everything is we can definitely recommend it to everyone we know 🤠

Service was amazing! The staff were very kind and courteous! I've been to more experience hotels and haven't had anywhere near as good service. Definitely coming again the next time I'm flying. The rooms very clean and comfy.

Due to unforeseen circumstances upon arriving in Louisville, I needed a room for just one night. The bed was the BOMB! and I'm not just saying that because I had spent the night before at the airport, sleeping on the floor. Jania was working the front desk and her upbeat attitude, friendliness, moo and helpfulness calmed my frazzled nerves. Another clerk, I didn't get her name, who worked either the evening or late shift, shared pics of her grandkids. The breakfast bar attendants were efficient and conscientious. Housekeeping staff were friendly too. The Hampton Inn is a nice hotel but your staff makes it a "home away from home." Thank you for the experience.

A nice hotel out in the sticks. A little dated but the staff was very accommodating.

The fitness area needs some TLC as it is quite dirty.

Kids make it very loud and the breakfast needs REAL eggs and bacon.

We had a fantastic stay! The room was nice and very roomy, the pool was awesome, breakfast was delicious, and the staff was fantastic. Highly recommend utilizing the shuttle to Ketucky Kingdom and highly recommend this hotel.

I highly recommend this particular Hotel. They were very professional very helpful and care about their guests. The rooms were clean, and if we needed anything all we had to do was ask and it was given. Will definitely stay here again.

Newly remodeled inside and out, and this hotel has been transformed. It’s beautiful now. The staff are excellent as always, professional and accommodating. Jose did a fantastic job of keeping the breakfast area spotless. Have been here many times for nearby conventions and am glad to see the long awaited overhaul has happened. Even the pool is sparkling new looking!

Comfortable Beds! Pool was cold as heck but I didn’t mind we still enjoyed our stay. The airport is literally 2 minutes away! You hear the planes if you’re outside!! My Partner said “Baby I like this one give them a great review “ I agree. The breakfast needs to be updated!! Like there was no oatmeal. The last day standing at the elevator pressing the button we can hear it come up and then leave so after about 5-7 minutes of this craziness I call downstairs and tell them what’s going on . While standing I can hear kids laughing I said I bet it these dang on kids. Isaiah says well two people just got off are you sure I’m going to send it back up. Behold the doors open this time! At the desk I ask if the people that got off were they kids he says yes they were teenagers and you can see the “no they didn’t look on his face”. So other than parents NOT TEACHING THEIR CHILDREN ABOUT COMMON AREAS!! It was a great stay. My Partner made his flight even after waiting while the kids played on the elevator 💙

Room was clean. Staff was friendly. They just renovated and I believe are still working on the elevators, so 1 was down and the other was a bit slow. Overall great location outside of downtown (but very close!) for a great price.

We stayed here when we bought our package for Kentucky Kingdom. We throughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast that was served was good too.

I can't say enough great things about this hotel! Our group stayed here for several nights while in town running a race and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. Multiple phone calls/questions ahead of time, several shuttles back and forth to the airport, a ridiculous number of requests while we were there :) Everyone was super nice and Jody, specifically, was awesome. The place was clean, comfortable, easy, and has a great full breakfast.

The facility was clean, the breakfast was not your ordinary hotel breakfast, it was a MEAL! I left items in my room, I called, they secured my items I sent a label to Michelle, and the manager, they packed my things and took it a step further, dropped it off at UPS for me. I have NEVER experienced this type of service before… As a “Dance Mom” my daughter and I travel a lot, this is by far our BEST EXPERIENCE!!!! Thank you guys!!

Always a joy staying at a Hampton Inn. They r under renovations. The only thing I missed having was a microwave in my room. Staff was friendly, the shuttle to and from the airport was amazing. If you ever get the pleasure of meeting Kenny the shuttle driver he's the best!!

When I read other couple of reviews before, I say I lucked out. Remodeling was at its end. So nice to see hotels updating.

Front desk area looks good, my room was up to date & clean. Refreshing to actually be on newer furniture VS worn out.

Front desk staff super friendly & even when I asked if my trash can be removed from my room, to my surprise my room was cleaned and put together not just trash taking out, while these things used to be norm in "golden era of pre covid" as most of road warriors know it's not the case after covid.

Another great part, while close to busy road and airport, my room was quite.

The receptionist was excellent in making us feel welcome an accommodating. They will go out of their way to help and extend our stay. One encounter was 3/5/22 when I was in a rush to officiate Volleyball at the Louisville Expo center and left my winter jacket at the hotel, not realizing that I left it behind in the hotel. (Rushing) to get to my match. The hotel CEO was contacted and she came to my rescue along with the receptionist at night on the 3/5 They were a God sent in every way. Thank you so very MUCH !!!!! Decent Hampton Inn. A bit dated, but clean and maintained. Bed was a bit saggy. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good/typical.



Location is right next to the airport and freeway, so expect some road/airplane noise.

This was a nice hotel and was very conveniently placed near to the Expo Center. The front desk staff were also very nice.

Jessica Robbins, shift manager, went above and beyond to help make my elderly father in laws stay safe and confident.

She helped him get personal items and escorted him on the shuttle to make sure he got checked in. She’s truly an exceptional person and an asset to Hampton Inn

Great place to stay. Incidentals are only $25 which is exceptional considering the Tru Hotel is $500 for Incidentals if you're a local resident. The staff were AWESOME! We stayed there during an emergency (house fire) and Jessica went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure our stay was as easy and convenient as possible considering the chaos I was already going through. 10/10 would recommend. Only thing that would make this place better isnif there were a microwave in the room. There's a small fridge though.

It just goes to show that when you give kindness you receive it back ten fold. We have a great experience at this hotel every year and that is why we continue to come back.

Checking in at the front desk with Jessica, was an absolute pleasure. She was very accommodating with our early check-in! We got a room with 2 full size beds, and had to switch to 1 King because me, being a taller person, wasn’t fitting very comfortably. She was very understanding and got us a different room right away. We were very thankful! Also walking into the hotel, we saw a pumpkin painting contest, that employees were participating in, and guests could vote for favorite pumpkin! It’s always good to see some culture from a guests perspective coming from large brands like Hilton. Every employer should create a culture within their business..



Room is 3 stars simply just because they are out dated with carpet. However, construction and renovations are happening on the 4th floor so changes are happening! After experiencing the quality of this hotel in its current state, one can only imagine how wonderful visit they would have once the renovations are completed. You can see what the guest rooms are going to look like on a poster board in the Lobby! Very cool.



Overall, not a bad hotel, friendly employees, would definitely go back after renovations are completed.

Awesome hotel, super friendly staff and very helpful. Hotel shuttle is lightning class and super friendly. Was only able to stay there one night, but the rooms are super clean and well renovated.

Strange that I had 3 towels, 4 hand towels and 1 washcloth, but the room was clean, they had a hot breakfast and good water pressure. Digital key is such a nice feature.

The rooms are a bit dated, but the property is undergoing renovation. The reno makes it a bit noisy right now. The hotel is located very close to the airport and other similar hotels. The front desk team is friendly, kind and helpful. Special thanks to the Eric, who drives their shuttle, for good directions and pointing out the potential driving hazards coming out of the airport when driving a rental car. He also gave good suggestions for finding eating places in the 3 mile radius the shuttle serves.

Had to get to the airport at 4:30am, so this hotel was in the perfect location! Parking was easy, check-in was quick and the front desk staff was helpful. Rooms were clean, and the bed was pretty comfortable! Overall would stay here again!
