I always enjoy going to the San Antonio International Airport, it can be busy unless you have an early or late flight during the day is the busiest times, there’s a lot of food around to get and also the employees in all the stores are pretty helpful!

This airport seems big but it's actually pretty small. It's extremely confusing to figure out where you need to go from the parking garage to get to the terminals because of the way the elevators and the escalators are set up. The entire parking, walk to the terminal, get lost trying to figure out what floor you're supposed to walk across the sky bridge or ground level is enought to make me not like flying out of here at all if it weren't for how nice people are that work here. The layout is just terrible. They're supposedly building a new airport on the other side of town in the next few years so that should solve some of this logistical problem.
However, security is a breeze to get through and extremely easy since they remodeled, and it's incredibly fast to get through and you never wait more than 10 minutes. The food court is clean and everyone is really nice. There's plenty of space in the terminal since not that many people travel out of this airport compared to most cities.

TSA was hustling, service was great at the vendors. They helped my mom get around. And the place was clean. Triple threat! Great service, great choices of food, clean! We would definitely fly out of San Antonio international Airport again. Anything just at a Chicago airport. Not of the two are close. Did you get my meeting. They had some fun artwork and are keeping things new. Get a on you San Antonio! Keep up the good work.

I haven't been here in years. SAT is getting big... well, bigger than I remember :) Growth is good, but make sure you have reservations as flying standby can be tough and getting a car last minute.... almost impossible! Otherwise its a great not so little airport!

Seems like this airport really has its stuff together. I was trying to think of something to write but there’s never been anything that has stuck out about this place because it runs so dang smoothly! I wish all airports were run like this. Very nice and roomy, as well!

Small airport. Lots of organization with the roads approaching drop off, but stopping in the drop off area, the signage could be better. You get stuck. People just park wherever boxing you in. You aren’t as important as them of course. This problem could be solved with clearer signage. The exit was clearly defined with a weird circular attachment to another lane. Then a light for the freeways. Signs further back telling you what was what would be helpful as far as who is going where for specific lanes. You could be waiting unnecessarily in a lane that’s not going where you need just 100 feet ahead! The airport looked fresh, nice, and clean. Officers and vehicles present. Felt secure. Watch your speed.

Used to come here to watch the planes take off and land....before 9/11 changed everything...a once sleepy little airport has evolved into a true, international airport. Great signage everywhere. There is a USO on site, to provide our service people with a safe place to rest between flights. Loads of tasty places to eat and drink, fun places to do some shopping or grab some essentials. Easy to navigate via vehicle as well.

Plenty of food options and places to shop at. Easy to find terminals and gates. TSA moved quickly and staff was friendly. Gates have limited seating.

I enjoyed this airport, it’s top tier airport experience. Really looks beautiful.
It speaks of how they understand the large amount of time people spend in the airport but they are making it a quality and enriching experience.
Excellent and even occasional legit healthy food choices as well. These are great cuisine restaurants you would have visited even if you weren’t in the airport. Great job San Antonio!

I would highly recommend this airport to anyone traveling through the area

Small and efficient airport in Texas. I was mostly using Terminal B which looked new and very well maintained. TSA lines are generally short due to low influx of passengers. They also have decent connections throughout the central and west coast. Rental car building is right across and makes the drop off and pickup easy.

I go through this airport a few times each year. It’s an airport okay. It’s not meant to be glamorous. It’s simple and has everything you need at an airport. Planes that take you places.
With that said, all the staff I’ve interacted with every time I am flying in or out of San Antonio, have been helpful and friendly. I have always been from curb to checkin through security to the loo to gate in about 30 minutes. The worse part about the airport here is leaving my family until I return.

So never done an airport review but today i have to acknowledge the amazing work the airlines and airport operations staff do everyday. Southwest lines were long but efficiently process each customer. I had an hour to check bags and get to gate. TSA Security line was the longest ever. TSA was on it, the most proactive process with each TSA agent loudly instructing each person which saved time. Many of us were worried not making flight. I made it through and had time to grab coffee on the other side. Thank you TSA!

Fairly easy to navigate. Car rentals are on-site. Rather than having to take a shuttle. Many reasturants and stores. Bathrooms seemed to be kept clean.

It’s a nice airport. Need to know what terminal that the flight is leaving, there’s no connection between terminal A and B. Would have to go through security twice. There’s supposed to be building a terminal C. I hope that there will be a connection between the three terminals.

San Antonio International Airport is a decent sized airport near downtown San Antonio. It features many airlines and pretty cheap flights. Staff are friendly and the overall vibes are awesome and kino. If you are flying in to San Antonio, well this is practically your only option but it is a good one!

Conveniently located, terminals A and B are next to each other, you can't get lost. It is very easy to get a rental car. Very modern, spacious facilities. Some people that work there could be more friendly, but I believe that is a problem everywhere. I still give it 5 stars.

It's great, easy to navigate through this place. Really clean and great options for a quick bite, lunch or just a coffee. Bathrooms are the extremely clean all the time. Courteous and friendly check-in for your flight. A five stars airport and already in expansion. I just think should have more international direct flights available.

We flew into San Antonio on Frontier airlines without any issues. It was very hot at 100+ F a little at 8pm cst.
The airport seems large, they have a lot of restaurants and bars, but they seemed to close early on weekdays. The airport is easy to get around in and everything (ground transportation, lodging, etc) seems to be clearly marked.
The rental cars are located in the airport. They have a bridge to the garage with an easy walk to the rental car center within the airport. They also have free WiFi within the airport.
The airport is also close to downtown about a 15 minute drive. We had no issues finding plenty of gas stations or restaurants near the airport prior to our departure.
Getting through TSA was relatively easy. It was crowded on a Sunday. They only had a few TSA agents working but we made it through in about 15 minutes.
We had plenty of time prior to our flight so we checked out one the restaurant for dinner and a drink. The airport is very clean and well taken care of.

Updating my review from a 1 to a 5. The airport is clean, the staff are super kind, mask signs have been finally taken down, you accept cash, and you all don’t have the physical handprint payment like other airports which is awesome. I work in cyber security, and there is so much risk having your personal identity stored and used for basic purchases. It’s good to see you all recognize that and still only have credit and cash in the airport.

San Antonio Airport is a decent option given its size, but there are a few areas where it could improve. The overall layout of the airport is functional, but the flow and accessibility could use some enhancement to make navigating the terminals more seamless.
Pros:
Reasonable Size: The airport is manageable and not overwhelming, which is ideal for quick trips and minimal hassle.
Clean Facilities: The airport maintains a clean and orderly environment, which adds to a pleasant travel experience.
Cons:
Limited Food Options: The variety of food options is somewhat lacking, especially considering the needs of travelers during off-peak hours.
Inconsistent Hours: Many of the coffee shops and food outlets have limited hours. For example, it's difficult to get coffee before 5 am and food options are scarce after around 9 pm, which can be inconvenient for early flights or late arrivals.
Flow and Accessibility: The flow of the airport could be improved. The layout can be confusing at times, and better signage and streamlined access would enhance the overall experience.
Overall, San Antonio Airport is functional but could benefit from expanded food options and improved operational hours to better accommodate travelers.

Third level from the parking garage takes you to the terminal. We were through baggage check and TSA quickly for terminal B.
The airport is clean and efficient.
The parking garage is one of the cleanest I've parked in.

Small airport easy to get around. Basically clean. I encountered a gentleman informing everyone he was the airport clean up man. Indicating he was there to keep all areas clean.. He was full of energy and was pleased to keep his area clean. I truly appreciated his work ethics
Although my stay was freezing cold Feb 2-4.

We went with United Airlines and had no problems. Everything was as expected, smooth sailing and a seamless trip from San Antonio to Chicago O'Hara Airport. It was my wife and daughters firs ride and I could not have asked for a better experience for them. Security was also very patient and friendly. We were in and out right away. The plane ride was also great. We were treated like friends by the entire staff. Thank you all for a great experience!

San Antonio International Airport is always fast and efficient. I use ride share for easy drop off at the terminal, and tip the American Airlines sky Valet for checking me in outside, and taking my bag. They have self check in terminals and ticketing counters for those in need of help. Food options are good inside, and the airport restrooms are always clean.

Not a bad little International airport. The wife and I typically fly in and out of this airport. The only issue I have are the bathrooms not being that clean but other than that. It is a good airport. If you can do it, try to get the schedule for arrivals in the morning on a weekend or midday on a weekday. Then you will be faced with less traffic.

Been taking this airport for years, and in light of seeing what a bad airport looks like, am compelled to note how great SA is.
Incredibly efficient at every level, even if the line is long. The people are all very friendly, and there are many options for food before the flight if you want. Some people don’t love the location but I think it’s fairly convenient.
They’ve really improved in terms of the number of charging stations/outlets too, which is much appreciated. I only wish there were more flights out of here, particularly international ones, I hope they can work on that as I would use it more, and it would enable more people to see our great city!

SAT is a small airport for the size of the city, currently (as of 8/2023) only two terminals. Terminal B only has 8 gates, security here is usually super fast UNLESS it's a holiday, then yes, be there early. There are only a handful of places to eat or get drinks.
Terminal A is twice the size, has more variety of places to eat but still pretty limited. Security for A takes just a bit longer, but I've never spent more than 20 minutes in line, again, on a regular day.
Rentals are on the mezzanine, take the escalators on the terminal B side all the way up and go through the bridge.
Staff is usually tired, and dry, but not unfriendly. It's a decent airport.

I was picking up family. There was security directing traffic efficiently. This is not a really large airport, and the design is easy to navigate with the signs. If you go the wrong way, no problem! It all loops around in a circle, and it takes no time to get where you need to go. Also, when leaving, there are 2 highways nearby. If you go the wrong way, it's easy to get back on track.

Very nice Airport. I haven’t been to many airports but this is my favorite by far. Many choices for food and drinks. Staff was extremely helpful and nice. Area was clean. Signs were easy to read. Simply amazing. The paints and designs throughout the airport were beautiful. This is my go to airport!

I thought this airport would be bigger. The check-in, pre-security area is nice and better decorated than post security. Next time, I'd wait in the pre-security area lounge until 5 minutes before boarding. Getting through security is pretty quick anyway since there aren't many travelers. But, no food places in the pre-security lounge area. But, there is a cool "just baked Smart Bistro" vending machine after security.
