Progressive Field is a large baseball park located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. It’s a 3-minute drive away from the city center. As a home field to the MLB’s Cleveland Indians, the ballpark hosts a great number of games and events every year. The capacity was over 45,000 visitors, but now it’s reduced to 35,041 people. The baseball park opened as Jacobs Field, and so it’s still often referred to as The Jake.
If you want to use one of the public transportation services to get to the park, you have several options. Three rail lines service the city — the Red, Blue, and Green one — and all of them meet at the Tower City Center, the station located a 10-minute walk away from Progressive Field. Additionally, the HealthLine bus transit connects Public Square to University Circle. It operates 24/7; during rush hour, it runs as frequently as every five minutes. There are also free transit systems that run between 7 AM and 7 PM; E-Line, B-Line, and C-line circulate downtown Monday to Friday. If coming from outer suburbs, use one of the following public transit systems: Laketran, PARTA, Lorain County Transit, or Geauga County Transit.
Visitors who are driving to Progressive Field can use the 2401 Ontario Street address to get driving directions. Downtown parking can get crowded sometimes, but there are still plenty of event parking spots in the downtown area for all the game fans. Keep reading to find out all ins and outs of Progressive Field parking services.
Progressive Field Parking
Progressive Field offers premium parking spaces right around the field, and this type of parking is the most expensive. However, reasonably-priced parking lots near the ballpark are also available and simple to find. Of course, these lots are farther than the main parking garages, but taking a short walk shouldn’t be an issue. So, the farther away you park, the less you’ll pay.
Whether you search for a covered parking garage or outdoor parking lot, you’ll be able to easily find it. The Gateway East Garage is the preferred garage parking of the Indians. General parking prices depend on the event and can be higher for non-baseball events. See the list below for more useful information.

Handicapped parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis to any guest who owns a disabled parking permit or license plate. Standard parking rates apply.
Progressive Field parking facilities don’t offer electric vehicle charging stations, but a few of them are located nearby. The closest ChargePoint EV Charging Station is at 100 Prospect Ave E, only a few minutes from the park. The nearest Tesla Destination Charger is at 1515 W 3rd St #1515.
