Quick in and out. The person who scan the bags at security took a little longer than normal but it seemed like she was in training. They could also use more food options in the gate are at the B terminal.

Great customer service! Security checkpoint is super easy and fast to get through. This airport is fairly small. I walked all the way to my gate just to find out my bracelet fell off. I retraced my steps all the way back to security and asked if they saw my bracelet and the police officer had it! I can't believe it. Someone found it and gave it to him. So thankful!!

Quick and easy to get in and drop off or pick up. The signs are some kinds hard to follow but if you pay attention you can find your way around easy enough.

Two stores and Two restaurants and a bagel shop that have very limited hours. A few vending machines but very limited hours with stores and restaurants and vending machines are not always stocked completely. The stores were closed when my 5pm flight landed. Minimum to moderate travelers. It is busy with about 20 people in line. Very limited flights. Airport is being renovated to modernize. Clean airport but very limited.

Dayton's airport might not have much I'm the way of food or whatnot, but what they do have is things that work:
-restroom doors? open outward so you can actually get in there and not hit the toilet when opening or closing doors
-water fountains? cold with pressure to be able to drink out of; no dribbling ones here.
-parking? long term is just a hundred yards or so from the terminal entrance.
-security? using global entry/tsa pre I'm basically walking straight through to my plane unless there's been something weird in my bag that security wanted to look at, lol.
feels like the motto here is "do what you can well", and I'd take that over the awful ones like Dallas, Charlotte, or Atlanta any day.

Not a big, busy airport, but that's a feature not a bug. Easy to get to your gate so you don't have to waste a bunch of time getting there super early. Just show up and get on your plane. The new renovations are very nice. I'm glad DAY is my home airport!

Small but convenient airport. Do eat beforehand as there isn't much variety with food. Likewise, I wish they'd sell more cincinnati Bearcats and not just buckeye merchandise (esp after 2021)...but overall, small airport with good, friendly service.

So easy to get there. Plenty of short and long term parking. They also have parking for picking up family or friends. Directional signs help out alot for those who are new to this Airport. Ride and take the shuttle as well. Inside the terminal is easy to get around. Clean facilities too.

Took 15min to return rental car, walk through security and get to my gate. Amazing. You can walk in 20min before your flight and you should be fine.

When we got off the plane there was a strong smell of marijuana. Not the best airport I've been to, but not bad for its size

I love flying into and out of this airport. It's superbly run and relatively small, and that combination makes it one of the least hassling, most convenient, and most time efficient airports I've ever used. Pro tip: the economy parking lot goes way back near the terminal, so if you park economy and just keep going to the back of the lot, the walk to the terminal can actually be shorter than the long term, and similar to the short term garage.

Nearly empty. Baggage processing was good. Good experience.
Update July 2022:. There is significant construction going on in the front/lobby of the airport. Still a good experience. TSA there seems to be the best in comparison to the others I have experienced or seen.

Not a lot of food choices, so eat before you fly. That said, Dayton is an extremely easy airport to use. Only two terminals, it is very simple to find your way around. Processing through security is usually quick and easy. Rental cars are across the street from the main terminal in the garage no more than 100 yards away. And access to the highway is one left turn out of the complex.

They get ya on a plane and outta there! The American Airlines crew was great under duress... Hugely appreciate their updates. Easiest airport in the world. Not the prettiest or anything, but smallest. Like flying out of a community college 😅

Airport is in the middle of modernization. I hadn’t been to the Dayton Airport in over two decades so this was cool to see. What was annoying about the inside space is the lack of potential use for making money. There were hardly any shops to eat, no independent carts to buy “stuff “, and no self service machines-those types of opportunities can not only add revenue to the economy but also create a unique vibe for travelers and fill the Wasted Space.
Not a busy place but enough people travel that way so perhaps someone will consider doing something proactive to enhance the experience.

Wow, what a beautiful airport! This is one of the cleanest, friendliest, and speedy airports I have ever been to. I will be skipping CVG whenever I can from now on to come here! Thank you, Dayton!

Nice airport. Very clean. Wide areas out front for drop offs and pick ups. TSA Pre-check fast. 7 minutes from start of line to walking down the hall. Gate B side has nice sitting area, bathrooms next door and Dunkin donuts. Nice leather chairs. Chill and enjoy your coffee!

Pros: The $5 economy parking. Location. Smaller and less hectic. Digital Splash is a nice free lounge with outlets and benches to relax. Good bathrooms. Cleaner than most. Great traffic flow.
Cons: Limited an unimpressive dining options that often close. Usually only 1 one security line is open when two or three is needed. $6-7 for snacks from the dollar tree. $15 burgers. $10 breakfast sandwiches are awful; better off reselling Jimmy Dean frozen from Sams Club. Overall kinda apathetic energy. Small planes.

Great little airport. It's easy to get in and out of. Rental is in walking distance. Which is a huge bonus. There is nothing worse than getting off a flight and having to wait 20 minutes for the rental bus to show up. Then, spend another 20 minutes in line. Anywho..... look forward to returning and checking out the additional amenities, rime dependent.

Love this place for a quick experience at security and gate access, especially if my destination is going to require multiple flights anyway. However it is under construction and no frills, so don't have high expectations. The outside has achieved beautiful completion and is very welcoming. The inside is lacking in restaurants, especially the Starbucks many of us want before boarding, far as I could tell there is not one anywhere here anymore. Great American bagel bakery is your quick breakfast destination...don't miss it just past security. Delta was actually offering free coffee and tea at the B gates, so it seems like there's an awareness of the lack of coffee! The 7 foot ceilings on the walkway to the terminals is just plain weird I hope they make those taller, it really dates the facility. Parking was a breeze, long term and short term are just a short walk to the front door. Security...well I got here at 4:30am for a 6am flight, only had to wait for one other person because the precheck line got priority over me. I'd definitely come here again! Plan a longer layover somewhere else to get your food.

My 87 year old mom and I had to fly to Dayton and out of Dayton for a death in the family. My mom has not flown for several years and has some issues with ambulating. The people at the airport were so kind and helpful by getting her a wheelchair and wheeling her through the airport and getting on and off the flights. They even helped us with our bags and to the car rental desk so my mom wouldn't have to walk. Highly recommend!

Despite being a small airport, it offers a seamless travel experience with swift check-ins, security procedures, and baggage handling. The staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring a stress-free journey. The airport's cleanliness is commendable, with well-maintained facilities and spotless restrooms. I lover this show, I have been so enthusiastic about this place that I enjoy every minute surrounded by many people with enthusiasm and children with dreams of pilots, dreams of being part of this great group of people who defend this great nation. come back every year to see more shows like this, in this great city.

It was a fairly nice and clean tiny airport. Checked bag and TSA both went through smoothly. I drove my way back to the rental car return area smoothly as well. That luggage belt was either hilariously broke or was poorly designed as luggages got piled up on the belt in that corner.

My hometown airport! . I no longer work for brac but I still fly from this airport. Great to and through easy parking and great service.(you still have to show up early for sercurity...but we all know that :) They also have a Great airshow annually. Oh yeah...shout out to Amy the stewardess at united(from Chicago to Dayton nights). I forgot to thank you for your service in the Air Force and for your service and advice on the plane :)

The Dayton Air Show today was impressive. Paying for a Chalet was a great choice. Unlimited food & beverage including beer & wine. $114 per person means bathrooms at each Chalet, a variety of grilled meats, sides and cookies. So much better than regular admission of you want umbrella seating, avoiding port-a-pots and long lines for expensive food and drinks.

Love this airport and love that United now has a direct flight to Denver! Only problem is they are very rigid on checked bags and I missed a flight to Denver because I wasn’t two hours early and nearly missed a second one with a checked bag when inwas literally the only person in line and was there well before the flight was boarding. Other than that no crowds and you get through TSA quickly. Great economy parking at $5.00 a day and a shuttle to take you to the door. I usually walk from the lot to the entrance in 10 minutes from economy!

Oh, fair traveler, lend thine ear to my humble tale of the Dayton Airport, a bastion of modern marvels and celestial charm. Upon setting foot within its hallowed halls, one is greeted by a symphony of bustling activity and serene efficiency, akin to the harmonious melodies of a finely tuned lute.
Behold, the majesty of its architecture, a testament to the ingenuity of mortal hands and the aspirations of soaring souls. The vaulted ceilings, adorned with intricate motifs, reach towards the heavens with a grace unmatched, whilst the gentle hum of distant engines whispers secrets of distant lands and untold adventures.
But 'tis not merely the physical splendor that sets this airport apart, for within its confines resides a fellowship of dedicated souls, bound by a common purpose to serve and uplift. From the gallant knights of security to the gracious stewards of hospitality, each member of this noble assembly contributes their part to ensure a voyage of unparalleled comfort and safety.
And lo, let us not forget the abundance of amenities bestowed upon the weary traveler. From the quaint taverns offering sustenance and libations to the merchants peddling wares of every kind, the Dayton Airport is a veritable oasis amidst the desert of travel, providing respite and solace to all who seek it.
In conclusion, dear friends, I beseech thee to cast thy gaze upon the Dayton Airport with eyes of reverence and admiration. For in its halls lie not only the promise of distant horizons and new beginnings, but the embodiment of human endeavor and aspiration. Five stars, nay, a constellation of stars doth this noble establishment deserve, for it is truly a beacon of light in the firmament of travel.

Great airport, very clean, helpful staff but read this before you get mad at TSA! Looks as though when there is low volume going through security they only have one checker for regular passengers and non-TSA PRE. They let a group of non-TSA through and then they let a group of TSA PRE through. If you dont understand that and you are at the back of either line the appearance can be frustrating... other than that this airport has a really good capacity for its size. It is new, clean and feels very nice. Additionally the layout is very smart, and as it expands over the years the construction will be intuitive and not dramatically hinder the operations of the airport.

It's a very nice airport. It wasn't busy when I went through. The TSA agents were pleasant and professional. I'm used to large airports with more restaurants and stores, but there was still good food, magazines, books, pillows, Pepsi and Coke products, and the bathrooms were clean.
