Situated in the southern part of Florida, midway between Tampa and Naples, Fort Myers is the county seat of Lee County. Fort Myers is well known for its amazing parks and preserves, as well as several historical estates. The Edison and Ford Winter Estates are the most famous. If you’re a nature lover, go to at least one of the following places - Manatee Park, Lakes Park, Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, and Centennial Park. Choose one and have a picnic or rent a kayak, there are numerous possibilities.
Fort Myers also serves as a gateway to Sanibel Island, Pine Island, and Marco Island. Fleamasters fleamarket is a very interesting downtown place where you can buy various food, clothes, souvenirs, etc. While in the downtown area, take a walk and check out some restaurants or bars since there are a lot of them in the city center.
