Parking at Newport, RI, Easton Beach

Easton’s Beach in Newport is 3/4 mile long and offers breathtaking panoramic ocean views. This is why a lot of people choose to use the white sand ocean beach as the perfect place to host a wedding or party. No matter how you choose to enjoy Easton Beach, you’ll need to keep yourself up to date on the latest parking options. Note that car parking at Easton’s Beach is currently limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s important to keep in mind that parking rates and availability sometimes change throughout certain parts of the year, such as from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. Furthermore, events and attractions throughout downtown Newport sometimes cause parking prices to change.

You can use Memorial Boulevard in Newport to access daily parking at Easton’s Beach parking lot. The parking lot’s hours of operation are 8:00 AM- 9:00 PM. 

How Much Is Parking at Easton’s Beach?

Below are the daily parking fees for Newport beaches, as well as monthly and seasonal rates.

  • Newport Resident Seasonal Beach Parking Sticker is $50 per standard vehicle and $10 for motorcycles and mopeds.
  • Newport Non-Resident’s Seasonal Beach Parking Sticker is $100 per standard vehicle and $20 for motorcycles and mopeds.

Metered parking is available in many areas throughout Newport, including Memorial Boulevard at Easton’s Beach. If you choose to park using an on-street parking meter, you’ll have a time limit of three hours with the hourly rate being $1.25/hour at most meters and $2/hour when parking near Easton Beach on Memorial Boulevard. 

Is There Accessible Daily Parking at Easton’s Beach?

Some of the beaches in Newport, including Easton’s Beach and the surrounding areas, offer several different forms of accessible parking. Handicap-accessible places to park are available for free on public streets throughout Newport. These free spaces for disabled and handicapped persons are generally designated with signage. You don’t have to feed a meter to use one of these spots nor do you have to have a parking sticker.

For spaces to park that give direct access to the Cliff Walk in Newport RI, you can park at Easton’s Beach on Memorial Boulevard. Or if you prefer, you can park at Forty Steps located at the very end of Narragansett Avenue.

Thanks to Newport’s public transportation system, you can easily avoid parking tickets when visiting Easton Beach. All thanks to the Newport Jitney, there’s no need to wait forever on a taxi or ride-sharing service. The Newport Jitney provides access to various parts of Newport by running on a continuous loop throughout the city. Best of all, to take a ride on the Newport Jitney, all you have to do is hop on and off wherever you want. 

Pilot Program Helps Parking Situation in and Near Newport

In 2021, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority started a free shuttle program. The pilot program gave both residents and tourists alike free transportation from the North End of Newport to Easton’s Beach and then on up to Sachuest Beach. Even though the program ended in August 2021, the city may continue to offer the service in upcoming years.
