Use this guide to discover the general admission cost, Denver Zoo parking options, and transportation alternatives. You’ll also learn about the Denver Zoo membership cost and how to park safely at the zoo and avoid getting a Denver parking ticket!

Denver Zoo Admission

If you’re wondering how much the Denver Zoo cost, we’ll provide you with all the necessary information regarding tickets and online reservations. The zoo requires online timed tickets to limit the number of visitors, which means that you cannot purchase the ticket on the spot! This applies to all guests, including zoo members. You can buy a general admission ticket up to seven days in advance—here are the prices:

Ticket Type Price
Adults (12-64) $20
Seniors (65+) $17
Children (3-11) $14
Children 2 and under Free

The general public admission is available from 10 AM, while members can make a reservation and enter the zoo starting at 8:30 AM. If you need assistance upon booking, call 720-337-1400 between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Denver Zoo Membership Cost

Wish to become a member and get free admission, early entry, discounts, and other perks? Here’s how much it would cost:

Membership Type Price
Individual  $65
Individual & Guest  $95
Zoo for Two  $95
Family  $155
Family-Plus  $185
Friends of Denver Zoo  $500

The Family membership includes access for two adults and their children younger than 18, while Family-Plus also allows an additional guest. Friends of Denver Zoo is just like the Family membership, but it includes eight more guests.

Denver Zoo Parking

The Denver Zoo is one of the only zoos in the country that offers complimentary parking spots! Free parking is available in the car parking lots adjacent to the zoo and the Denver Zoo parking garage. Plenty of public parking spaces near the zoo’s entrance allow visitors to have a stress-free day and not worry about the Denver Zoo parking cost. Access to the main parking lots is along 23rd Avenue, while the zoo’s address for directions is 2300 Steele St, Denver, CO 80205. To find your way to the parking area, check out the Denver Zoo parking map.

Accessible Parking at the Denver Zoo

Handicapped parking areas are available free of charge in all parking facilities. To use them, a visitor must own a disabled parking permit or license plate. The spots are obtainable on a first-come, first-served basis.

Denver Zoo App

If you’re going to the zoo for the first time and want to be prepared, use the free Denver Zoo app! You may download it from both Google Play and App Store. If you’re a Denver Zoo member, use the app to load your membership card for additional convenience. It also offers animal information and a digital interactive map of the zoo, just like the one in the picture below.

Transportation to the Zoo

If you’re thinking about using a transportation alternative, the public bus service is a great choice available at a low price! Two bus routes stop near the Denver Zoo: 20 and 40 bus lines. The Colorado – 17th station is within a 15-minute walk of the main entrance. The local three-hour pass is only $3.00. Using rail is possible, but the closest train station is nearly an hour’s walk away. If coming from DEN, you should take a train from Denver Airport to downtown or learn more about Denver Airport shuttle services. To get back to the airport after your visit, we suggest getting an Uber to Denver Airport!
