This airport has new constructed building. The older building is currently on construction. The terminal has its own building and the baggage claim area is separated as well. Once entering the departure waiting area, there is a lot of people the time i went.
Few fast food restaurants options you can choose from.

I haven't used this airport for over a decade, and it is still an easy in and out airport when coming to LA instead of going through LAX. The airport is still undergoing renovation, but the seating area doesn't have any USB ports, so you'll need to bring a power adapter.

Still my favorite Los Angeles area airport because it’s quick and easy to get out of. Also the architecture is amazing fir such a small airport. Good selection of eats/drinks and places to power devices too.

You board your plane outside , kinda like a private jet 😉 It's a fairly small airport but there are a good amount of food places to eat at while waiting for your flight. And literally no line for security check, just went straight through

Small airport with easy access. We had an early flight and were happy to see the coffee kiosk open at 5:30. Another nice surprise was how good the coffee was! We parked in the B lot which is a short walk to the front door. Only $20 a day. This airport is much preferred over LAX if you want ease and convenience.

Love the open air design. It is refreshing. The have CLEAR which is awesome and streamlined access through security. I wish other airports had this chill vibe and atmosphere. Safe travels

Usually we fly into John Wayne aka Santa Ana but on occasion we will go to Long Beach Airport. It's a little farther to our final destination most times but it's a cool airport. I like the vibe of it and it feels retro. Once you are there it's easy to get in and out of the terminal. It's actually a pretty airport!

If you are flying Southwest this is by far the best option for getting into and out of the LA area. The outdoor area post security is a nice reprieve.
Note that TSA Precheck is part of the Clear entrance and will be to the right of the main entrance. This can be hard to find during rush hour times.

I would so much rather fly to this airport than any of the bigger ones. We were able to exit (Southwest) from the back of the plane and right onto the ground. A lot of this airport is outside which works really well with the gorgeous weather! Check in is quick, and we had a nice experience with the representatives and TSA. Even luggage claim is outdoor 👌🏻

Small airport but so much easier to get in & out of compared to LAX..Baggage claim is literally outside. I flew into here & then Ubered to Anaheim. Was super easy & quick. Only bad thing is that security is super small & 1 line. U literally will be waiting outside.

So easy and convenient, compared to just about any other airport in the world. Any problems? Not many, but see below:
They just finished remodeling the historic 1930s terminal building at Long Beach Airport. However, it’s sealed off and being watched by armed guards.
The beverage situation at the gates was catastrophic this morning. First I waited 10 min to put in an order at the espresso place by gate 4. They then told me they didn’t have decaf espresso. So I scrambled across to the other gate building, where the only other coffee place by gate 6 told me they were closing right then. No explanation. Checking around, I realized that LGB appears to be a militantly Pepsi-only airport. Not even any Dr Pepper!! And I certainly would not be allowed to take solace in a Coke…

Long Beach is my new favorite airport. Yes, it's small but it's quick to get in and out. Very efficient. Most of the airport is brand new and they are restoring the original historic terminal. I love that you get to go outside to board your plane, old school style. When the weather is nice, there is something about getting to board outside that gets lost using a jet bridge. The ability to hang out and have a meal outside by the fireplace is outstanding. Love Long Beach Airport!

When we landed we couldn’t find our stroller and one of the captains came out and found it for us, they were all super nice and the airport is growing. It’s fun being able to walk down onto the tarmac to leave the plane. It all looked super nice and was warm, the baggage claim is outside and took a few minutes for it to start up, but everything went great. We then got picked by a shuttle to head to our hotel and the pickup area was easy to find.

Small and easy to negotiate! Two exits to deplane, checked bags came through pretty fast, Uber came in less than 2 minutes! #boom #winning

Easy, smooth, small airport. You can walk from the car rental place to the airport in less than 5 minutes. They have valet parking. They have a bar, restaurant, store, and several restrooms. They have one charging station for phones, tablets, and laptops. You must have the box no USB ports. This is in the Gates 1-4 area.

Small Airport but has plenty of seats and plenty of food choices for any traveler! I particularly liked the outdoor seating. Not sure this review would be great if it was raining since it’s mostly an outdoor airport…..today is sunny and beautiful (California weather). When I first landed at this airport, I was instantly grateful for the off ramp instead of stairs since it’s not connected to the terminal like the bigger airports. Finding the location for the rideshare was difficult since there were no signs at baggage claim (most airports there’s signs pointing to ridershare but since there’s only one spot for arrivals it’s on the outer curb once in the area signage was displayed. If my travels bring back to Long Beach I’d be looking forward to seeing the changes that are being made.

What a nice airport! The vibe feel like walking on a high street. It’s very chill and no-rush vibe. Food-wise: I went in the early morning but the fridges are empty. They didn’t fill it until 9:30am (3hr gap or more). My flight was also an hour delayed.

Convenient and less crowded than LAX. Convenient parking and surprised to see parking being prorated. Like the nostalgia of boarding on stairs from the tarmac.

What a fun airport! I LOVED it because of the convenience of walking out and walking directly to the rental car place. This is what all airports should be like, small and convenient!
I enjoyed the outdoors portion. When I walked out, I thought I had already left the airport then quickly realized I was still in the airport facility, it was just uncovered and there were palm trees inside "this portion" of the airport.
Small, simple and efficient! ✔👍

Hands down, one of the best airports in Orange County. It's a quick in and out. Luggage comes out fast. I wish there was a lounge there but I really can't complain. Amazing staff.

For years this has been my go to Airport! I love how quick and easy it is to go in and out of the parking lot. I know it isn't an international airport, but for domestic, it is easily the best airport ever. Parking has gone up but what hasn't gone up? I love that the parking lot is so close by. Like literally walking the stairs or taking the elevator and you're there to check on in. So quick to get in, short TSA lines. Highly, recommend this airport. One caveat if it's raining, you are going to get very wet. Baggage pickup is literally outside, clearly the airport isn't used to it either or it wouldn't be built that way. They have a few stores for food, snacks and drinks. A few sitting areas and clean restrooms. Also, bring your water bottles because they have those water stations.
So quick and easy to travel.

This is definitely the airport you want to visit if you want to feel grateful for your larger and more fancy airport close to home.
The one major benefit from visiting this airport instead of John Wayne is that it is much smaller and going through security was super fast! The terminal still felt a little busy but that’s because it was so small. I would definitely fly out of here again, however I would avoid the winter months. Since they march you outside to walk up a ramp into your plane, I can’t imagine the wet smell that lingers inside the plane when it’s raining outside.

From the light blue and white decor to the sand dune landscaping, it really captures the laidback coastal vibe of Southern California. Even though it's a smaller regional airport, they've managed to create a cute, theme-park like atmosphere that makes you feel like you're stepping onto the beach instead of an airport terminal.
What I also appreciated about Long Beach Airport is how compact yet convenient it is. With only one terminal and concourses, it's easy to navigate from check-in to security to your gate without much walking. And the parking structure is literally right outside the terminal entrance. This made dropping off and picking up very quick and stress-free.

I absolutely love this airport! It's my first time here, and honestly I think from now on, if I can fly out of here, I will. It's much better than going to LAX. Everything is clean and well taken care of. My favorite is the outside area. I can easily take my dog out to relieve herself. In LAX, it's a mission to find somewhere for her to go, and the only one that I could find last time smelled heavily of dog urine. Long Beach is much more well kept, and family/people friendly. On top of that, everyone that works here is even more friendly. Way less people, which helps with anxiety. Check in is quick and easy as well. Just 1000x better than going to LAX. Also, Kudos to Taco Beach! Those breakfast tacos were so good and really hit the spot.

Great little airport! Only one terminal so pickups and drop offs are easy. Half the areas are outdoor because the weather is great year round. Plenty of restaurants and newspaper stands right at the terminal. They fly both Delta and Southwest airlines. A lovely experience I look forward to repeating.

This is my first time coming into this airport. It's very small and quiet. I love the idea of coming out the plan and you get to walk the tarmack. Staff is really nice and best to come 2 hours before your flight. Since it's a small airport. There are some early morning lines. Very clean and peaceful place.

Kind of sad to see my favorite little airport growing into a bigger, newer, more hectic airport similar to other airports. Still a great airport, with a lot of charm, pretty efficient, and friendly people. Beer is WAY OVERPRICED! Still preferable to SNA for convenience and friendliness. Prices are many times a little lower that similar flights in/out of Phoenix, and even more so with flights to/from Hawaiian Islands. I love the outdoor areas for travelers to hang out while waiting for flights.

I want to share our experience today at this amazingly kept secret, the Long Beach Airport. We drove from Riverside County to drop my elderly Aunt who is partially blind, my cousin who also has a challenge with walking to the airport to fly back to Texas. They had six heavy pieces of luggage, I was struggling trying to get them and the luggage in the terminal. This nice officer approached us and offered to get us a wheel chair, he helped my elderly aunt and push the chair all the way to check in. I pray the Lord bless this officer for going above and beyond his duty to help those in need.

Beautiful little airport! It's only challenge is that it's not really built for as many passengers as it is now getting, the aisles are narrow, and when crowded, it's tough to get through. Be advised that there are no jerseys, you have to walk up the stairs or the ramp to board your flight.

Love this airport! Fly out of here every single chance I get! TSA seems to be happier and more efficient...to be fair, they're also not seemingly inundated with 9 trillion people a day! Great eateries...praying they continue to pick up new direct routes to cool places!

The best airport in the United States! If you have the option to fly from here you will not regret it. Security is quick, the terminal is small, and you avoid LAX traffic. We take flights from here at least once a month to bigger airports like Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Chicago. Also this is one of the few airports that lets you board and deplane from the back of the aircraft. Highly recommend!

Ok, I know its an airport, why a review, well, this is a different experience. Old skool ramps, outdoor courtyard, libe music, this place shoukd be open to public, not just passengers! My #1 airport from now on.

I love this airport because there is hardly any wait, and it’s so close to OC. The cell phone parking lot has a ton of space, and the laid parking lot also has lots of space, I like LAX.

LGB is a favorite of mine.
It's nostalgic because the original terminal building is intact, well preserved and functional.
It's also where I completed my flight training and earned my private pilot's license.
When flying anywhere, we avoid LAX whenever possible. Long Beach airport is easy to get in and out of, the parking is reasonable and close enough to walk to the terminal. The new terminals are nice with all the modern conveniences you'd expect to find.

This is the BEST Airport. It is small and so easy to navigate through. It's clean and just a great airport. It's very convenient for me to visit my family in Long Beach. Have been coming here for years. I refuse to fly into anywhere else!

Small airport but it gets the job done. You definitely avoid the lax traffic and you're in and out super fast. Most of the restaurants are still closed, and it's a bit pricey. They have a nice little open space for kids to run around as well.

A great airport that is fast and easy to get in, drop off, pick up, and get out. The new ticketing building is very nice. Everything is so much less stressful here than larger airports like LAX. There is more than one free cell phone waiting lot. Use these free parking lots when you are waiting because there is almost no room at the curb in front of the terminals. You've got to drop off or pick up quickly.

This airport has been so far the best . It's smaller than LAX and I think that makes it much better. It's fast and easy to get around. We landed @ 5:20 and by 5:40 I had my luggage that I had checked in. All in all in my experience it was fast and easy

Cute airport, love the semi-outdoor layout. Security is a breeze, though the baggage claim sometimes can be slow, and the pickup/dropoff line isn't bad either. Overall, super easy to travel in and out of if you're visiting the area! Bonus tip, if the coffee line is long near gates 5-11, the coffee by gate 4 is probably short.

Such a quant airport. It’s more like a big bus station. Very clean. Takes 5 minutes or less to go through TSA security.
