AEX is small and quaint but packs a surprising punch with its cleanliness and the courtesy and professionalism of the staff working there. I just wish it wasn't so expensive to fly out of the airport. Other than that, this reviewer cannot say anything derogatory about the airport.

The airport parking was easy. Nice walk to the airport. The escalator to go up to the check-in was not working. Took the stairs, however, I watched as an elderly man struggled. I mentioned he should ask about the elevator. TSA pre check doesn't matter at such a small airport and when announcements were made by gate agent it could not be understood. (I don't have hearing problems, yet.) Flight left a 15+ minutes behind schedule and was a comfortable flight.

My favorite thing about this airport is it's small. You can get there an hour early and still be good. Overall it's an airport and everyone's experience can be different.

Really great experience on my last flight here. Nick the bartender was awesome, and helped me create some great drinks. I was quite anxious and sad about leaving Louisiana, and he calmed me down quickly and helped me enjoy my last hour in the state. The check in, baggage, and overall service was smooth, and quite effortless. Can't wait to fly back in March.

It's not the biggest airport, but they get the job done. For me, its the fact that you can fly from Alexandria to almost anywhere now, and it will usually be the least expensive ticket you will find. Not to mention, not having to travel out of town to a larger airport just to pay more to fly from there. It is very convenient!

For an airport that runs off what feels like 4 employees, they manage to get their flights going and checked. Well oiled, if a bit understaffed, but then again if you aren't going to the nearby Army base, why are you flying here?

Quiet, small airport. No checked baggage so I had no issues. The restrooms were clean, the employees were friendly and the AC was nice while I waited for an Uber.

beautiful structure. Bar is outside of security which is nice. Thankfully TSA lines are short because they are extremely slow. Once inside security there isn’t much so don’t come through until you have to.

I didn't catch their names but two ladies at the check in desk for American Airlines were very professional and knowledgeable. Honestly, long story short, they went above and beyond making sure their passengers were taken care of. They are employees that take pride in their work and do all they can. Whoever worked the desk at around 5:30 AM 11th of March 2023. Please promote them within their position. They more than deserve it.

Very nice airport. Easy to get in and out of. This was a former military installation so everything is top notch.

Wonderful bartender- Passion at the bar is another Swiss army knife for sure! She treated everyone like they were family! We were flying back home and she great care of us with drinks and food while we waited. Great atmosphere, nice cool lounge area. I was impressed for such a small hometown airport.
