The Economy Lot is the official on-airport economy parking at Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB), priced at $17 per day. It is the convenient choice for travelers who want to stay on airport property with minimal transfer hassle, backed by 4,523 reviews at a 4.2-star rating.

How Much Does It Cost?
The Economy Lot runs $17 per day. That is not the cheapest number you will see attached to SFB, but it is the official on-airport economy rate. Because SFB is a smaller, secondary Orlando airport, the off-airport price wars you find around Orlando International (MCO) do not exist here. The realistic SFB landscape is short: a handful of options, with the Economy Lot anchoring the official end of it. The gap to cheaper alternatives is smaller than it looks once you factor in what you actually get, as the comparison below shows.
How Close Is It to the Terminal?
This is where the Economy Lot earns its keep. It sits on airport property at 1200 Red Cleveland Blvd, so you are not driving to a separate off-site facility and waiting on an outside operator. The transfer is a short walk or a short shuttle ride, roughly 2 minutes. There is no long highway hop, no unpredictable third-party van, and no wondering whether the shuttle will show up at 5 a.m.
For SFB specifically, that proximity matters. The airport is compact and Allegiant-driven, so being on property means you can time your arrival to your flight rather than padding an extra 30 minutes for an off-site transfer.
Economy Lot vs. Other SFB Options
SFB has limited off-airport competition, so the real choice comes down to a couple of options. Here is the honest comparison.

Economy Lot (official)
$17
4.2 (4,523 reviews)
Short walk or short shuttle, ~2 min
On-airport, official, large verified review base
The $9 versus $17 gap looks dramatic until you read the fine print. Park Place Inn and Cottages does not run shuttle service, so the cheaper rate assumes you have solved the trip from the lot to the terminal yourself. For most travelers, that means a rideshare or a favor from someone, and that cost and coordination eat into the savings fast.
Is It Worth It?
Straight answer: it depends on what you value, but for most SFB travelers the Economy Lot is worth it.
It is not the cheapest sticker price. What it is, is the official on-airport lot with a short transfer and 4,523 reviews behind it at 4.2 stars. That review base is unusually large for an airport parking facility. You are paying $17/day for predictability: you park on airport property, you reach the terminal in about 2 minutes, and there is no off-site operator in the chain. If your trip is short or you already have an easy way to and from a cheaper lot, the math can shift. For everyone else, the convenience premium is modest and the peace of mind is real.
When It Is the Wrong Choice
The Economy Lot is not the right pick for everyone:
You are parking for a single night or a very short trip, where any daily rate compounds less and a cheaper lot wins on raw cost.
You have your own reliable transfer arranged and genuinely do not mind handling the trip to the terminal yourself, in which case the $9 Park Place option saves real money.
You only need short-term or hourly parking right by the terminal. The Economy Lot is built for longer stays, so an hourly or garage option closer to the door fits better for quick pickups and drop-offs.
If none of those describe you, the Economy Lot is the straightforward choice.
How to Book
Booking is simple:
Pick your drop-off and pick-up dates so you can see the full cost up front.
Reserve the Economy Lot at SFB online before you travel. Locking in ahead of time protects you against the lot filling up, which has happened during peak Allegiant travel windows.
Drive to 1200 Red Cleveland Blvd, Sanford, FL on travel day and follow signs to the Economy Lot.
Keep your reservation confirmation handy for entry and for the short transfer to the terminal.
Reserving in advance is the safest approach at a smaller airport like SFB, where on-airport capacity is finite and demand spikes around Allegiant departure banks.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to leave your car at Sanford Airport?
At the official Economy Lot, the rate is $17 per day. SFB also has higher-priced garage and hourly options closer to the terminal, and a small number of off-airport choices, but the Economy Lot is the standard on-airport economy rate.
How much is economy parking at SFB?
The Economy Lot is $17 per day. It is the official on-airport economy facility at 1200 Red Cleveland Blvd, rated 4.2 stars across 4,523 reviews.
Is the Economy Lot good for Allegiant flyers?
Yes. SFB is the Allegiant hub and secondary Orlando airport, and the Economy Lot is the official on-airport option. Because the airport is compact and Allegiant-driven, parking on property and reaching the terminal in about 2 minutes removes the off-site transfer guesswork that matters most for early or tightly timed Allegiant departures.
How do I get from the Economy Lot to the terminal?
It is a short walk or a short shuttle ride, roughly 2 minutes. Because the lot is on airport property, you are not relying on an outside operator to get you to the gate.
Are there cheaper parking options near Sanford Airport?
There is limited off-airport competition at SFB. Park Place Inn and Cottages lists a lower rate of $9 per day, but it does not provide shuttle service, so you would need to arrange your own way to and from the terminal. The Economy Lot costs more but includes on-airport convenience and a short transfer.
Should I book in advance?
Yes. On-airport capacity at SFB is finite and fills during peak Allegiant travel periods, so reserving ahead is the safest way to guarantee a spot.
SFB is better for travelers seeking a more streamlined and less crowded airport experience, especially those flying with carriers like Allegiant Air, which operates numerous domestic flights from this airport.

Although Orlando Airport is closer to us, this is so much more pleasant to use. My favorite Airport used to be Burbank in California, but I think this has become my number one. It's easy to navigate, and not nearly as crowed, which means flghts are much more likely to be on time. Since we were transporting a puppy, it was ideal. Totally recommended.

Love this little airport away from the hustle and bustle of Orlando international airport. Great direct flights to many destinations across the USA. Allegiant airlines is pretty awesome and they take very good care of veterans and their families. 👍

Orlando Sanford International Airport is a hidden gem for travelers heading to Central Florida. Located about an hour’s drive (roughly 43 miles) from Walt Disney World, it’s a smooth, scenic trip that’s well worth it for the stress-free experience this airport offers. Unlike the busy Orlando International Airport, SFB is smaller, quieter, and incredibly easy to navigate.
What really makes SFB stand out is how quick and simple everything is—from check-in to security to boarding. The lines are short, the staff is friendly, and you’re not overwhelmed by crowds. For families with kids or anyone who values convenience, this airport is a game-changer.
SFB is a major hub for Allegiant Air, which offers incredibly affordable nonstop flights to many smaller U.S. cities. It’s not unusual to find round-trip fares under $100, making this a great option for budget-conscious travelers.
There’s also a touch of history here—once a Naval Air Station, the airport honors its past with a small but meaningful military memorial inside by ticket counters in Terminal B.
All in all, Sanford Airport is clean, efficient, and surprisingly relaxed. If you’re flying into Florida for a theme park vacation or just visiting family, this is a fantastic alternative to the chaos of bigger airports.

Airport is small and easy to navigate, very open. Lots of information posted everywhere, making it easy to get where you need to go, especially in a hurry! The big alligator in a case gave me a scare at first though! Definitely recommend flying in or out here, so easy to get in and out of!

This is a nice airport. Not overly busy for orlando. Come early because security gets backed up quick but that is not uncommon. Good selection of food and drinks. Clean and well managed.

Love the convenience of this airport, easy access and no traffic. TSA is usually a breeze to get through. The best part of this flight out was meeting Gladys , a breath a fresh air especially after being delayed over an hour. She is just amazing! Made my time pleasant at hollerbach’s. What a great addition as she mentioned she’s new . Keep her at all costs!!! The service she provided for me and my family was phenomenal! Can’t wait to see her again!
Much love Lou!

I really like Sanford/Orlando International Airport. It is an Allegiant only airport. I like that it isn’t huge and is easy to navigate. The flights with Allegiant are very reasonable too. Win, win!

Lots of close parking both in garage and long term. The long term parking is an easy walk to the terminal. Security is professional and good, bathrooms are great, and they have WATER FOUNTAINS unlike other small airports in the area. Love it!

Normally I dislike airports but this one is small and efficient. I was through security and sitting at my gate in about 5 minutes. Arrival and drop off were super easy as well. Looks like the main... maybe only airline is allegent. This is my first time flying with them so we will see how it goes. Even got a sausage egg and cheese sandwich which was huge and quiet tasty

Michael and Brandon are great! Thank you both so much. I lost my phone outside of the airport, I was through TSA and boarding when I contacted Michael on my phone. No time to retrieve it, Michael assured me he would secure it until my return. Monday afternoon we deboarded and walked right to info station, after a few questions for verification Brandon went to get the phone and returned shortly with my phone. Micheal also arrived. Both so very polite and happy to help.
Thank you

Easily the best security experience of my life. 10/29/22 8 AM. All the staff is very professional but pleasant and kind. Got through security in minutes. They have a variety of food options and lots of seating. Considering how intense Orlando airports can be, this was a huge breath of fresh air. Highly recommend!

10 out of 5 stars for this airport - my buddies and I fully missed our flight in 2023 (our whole rowing team made it on the plane) and staff re-opened the doors for us while the jet was being refueled or something. Came in super clutched and saved us from a ton of trouble from our coaches haha

Easy to find in and out. It’s a regional airport but I could see airplanes taking off and landing. I like the scenery of the combination of the sky and airplanes from the window. It’s a good connection from multiple city by LCC. There were exhibitions of the air forces.

There doesn’t seem like there’s much to appreciate about an extremely early flight, until you get to see the sunset from above the clouds. Absolutely stunning.

Small, quiet airport with only 16 gates in one split terminal. Economy parking was a breeze ($13/day). I arrived at 1047 for a 1259 departure. The shuttle actually came and found me in my parking row since they had no other passengers at the time to take me to the terminal, which was nice. Arrived at the security checkpoint at 1057 since I was pre-checked in on the Allegiant app and only carrying a personal item. Made it out of security by 1109 to start twiddling my thumbs for what felt like an eternity. Super convenient airport experience, very inexpensive flight. Only down sides were it's a hike for me coming from the Southeastern part of the Greater Orlando area. Also, looks like they're under some remodeling, but they seriously lack amenities with only two sit down restaurants I could find and a handful of shops. Still, I'd say for less than half the price of other flights I found, it was worth it.
Other notes, the staff were all extremely friendly, from shuttle, to TSA, to shops. Also, everything was very clean and tidy.

The air traffic controllers and staff are the best part about this wonderful airport. I understand things get hectic frequently and people can get aggravated, but we’re all human. Even I’ve made plenty of mistakes. Besides, Sanford International is an extremely busy airport.
Credit is definitely due, and I respect their work and they are very attentive to your safety. I already miss flying out of there.
I sincerely hope all the controllers and staff get a pay raise for their hard work.

Really like Orlando Sanford International airport. Small and easy to get around but big enough to provide all the extras a larger airport has. Will use Sanford any time it's available that I'm flying into Orlando.

This airport is so easy to get around. Every time I fly out of here I have no problems. Security/ TSA is quick and easy and the airport has a very easy layout. It never feels overwhelming or stressful compared to MCO thanks SFB and Allegiant for the great services

Nice, clean, small efficient airport. We had our checked bags and were out of the airport getting a taxi to our destination within 15 minutes of deplaning which by normal airport standards this is equivalent to a car on the highway driving 70 mph to light speed. Everyone from TSA agents to ticketing and check in personnel were friendly, helpful and most importantly competent. Will definitely use this airport to fly into Orlando, Florida from now on.

Flew out Wednesday morning before Thanksgiving 2024 and returned Saturday evening 11.30.24. This is just a super awesome airport. The security, the employees, Allegiant personnel, . . . everyone was great to encounter and deal with. I cannot image if all airports were as excellent as this one . . . well, yes I can: MORE PEOPLE WOULD FLY AND TRAVEL . . . AND BETTER ENJOY THEIR EXPERIENCE! (Nothing sucks the fun out of travel than having to deal with the personnel in too many airports!) Not here at the Orlando Sanford International Airport. We love flying out and into here! and we will be back as soon as possible! . . . honestly because of the holiday, we just were expecting there to be some craziness or stressfulness or some "not happy to be here" employees, but NOPE - everyone was were polite and professional and downright friendly.

Easy to navigate. Long term parking is not too far from the terminal. There's not much to choose from food wise after security so don't come overly hungry! TSA does a great job moving passengers through quickly.

This airport is small with not very much traffic so it is unlikely for your flight to be delayed. Plus there isn’t that many people around in the gate areas so it doesn’t feel crowded, but one thing I do not like is the lack of food options and how it says it’s Orlando Sanford airport when it isn’t very close to Orlando. Otherwise if you’re looking for an airport in the Orlando area that isn’t busy and you like allegiant this is the airport for you!

Airport is clean and designed like any other airport. Normal check in and security processes. This airport could use an actual sit down restaurant or a vendor that sells hot food. Snacks and sandwiches don’t cut it for a wait. The chairs in other airports have outlets for charging, upgrade these please. Every outlet is full and surrounded by kids.

Love this airport. Easy to get in and out. The number of gates is near the single digits, meaning only a short walk to find yours. Don’t let this fool you though, because Sanford services many destinations all across the eastern United States and some further west and north. Tickets are always affordable, security is quick and easy, and the multiple destinations means that I often plan vacations based on where Sanford flies to.

Very nice airport. Rental vehicle staff at Alamo were great. Baggage/check in staff were great and flights were also decent. I sincerely appreciated the no-lines for check in or for security. A lot less traffic both pedestrian and aircraft at this airport. I will continue to travel via Orlando Sanford.

Only airport I've been using in Orlando/Sanford. Because of the smaller size it easy in and easy out. Avoid all the mess of Orlando. So it you have a chose, fly Orlando/Sanford Airport. In and out 5 times, best way to go. But remember it is a smaller airport with less amenities. Less food, less shops locations. Oh, by the way the photo is the airport on Thanksgiving Day, no crowd.

I love Orlando Sanford Airport. It's really easy to check-in and go to the Gates. Just read all the signs to locate your Gates. Make sure you download the Allegiant App, if there's any Gate change, you will see the update on your App. If you have a screenshot you can't see any change.
Like any other airport, you have to be at least 2hrs prior the departure time and if it's HIGH SEASON 3HRS.
REMEMBER, the ticket counter closes 45 MINUTES PRIOR DEPARTURE TIME and GATES closes 15 MINUTES BEFORE your departure time. If your flight is scheduled for 6:00am/pm the ticket counter will close at 5:15am/pm and gates 5:45am/pm 👌🏾

Roads to the terminal area and signage are mostly adequate. I was there late at night to pick up an arriving passenger, therefore I was not inside any building, nor did I use the garage or the pay lots. I sat in the "cell phone lot," with about 7 or 8 other cars, waiting on a delayed incoming flight. SUGGESTION TO MGMT: Please illuminate the cell phone lot entrance with some kind of simple light at night. In the pitch black, two drivers overshot the entrance and actually backed their cars up (yes really!) instead of driving back around. Almost caused a wreck. The cell phone lot itself is difficult to navigate at night, too, since it is completely unlit. The car next to me unwittingly backed into the flimsy little wire/rope barrier. A couple of low wattage or solar powered lights would make a world of difference. While I realize many Florida airports give short shrift to cell phone lots because they are free (meaning no profit to the airport), it would be great if you'd step up and break that mold by making an effort to provide a modicum of safety to this area. You can do better.

Dropped off a family member for an Allegiant flight (Terminal B) on a Wednesday afternoon. Parking was $3 for 30 min. Lots of spaces. About a 5-minute walk to the check-in area.
Wheelchairs (free) and luggage carts ($7) available to use from the baggage claim area (soon after you start walking from the parking area and before the check-in entrance). Entire terminal was fairly empty and only had about 5 other people going thru the TSA check.
Place was overall really organized for an airport and reminded me of Gainesville Airport with its cleanliness and relatively small size compared to other major airports. We might consider flying out from here for non-stop flights for our next trip out-of-state.

Overall Good.
No issues with any employees or anything. Friendly / good experience with security. No complaints.
I'll focus on something I had no experience with in case others are unaware: Used long term parking It turned out very easy and straightforward. No matter the time an auto gate and cam let's you in, you park wherever you like and walk to the terminal. Upon your return, walk back to your car and when you leave, the camera system reads your plate and charges you the 14$ a day charge. Pay with card and that's it. Easy day.

This airport honestly exceeding my expectations. It was really hassle free. They had great food options, like ZAZA as well as healthier food options like Natures Table. The airport was clean. The best part was the kids area that had cushioned flooring as well as animal statues that were cushioned for kids to climb - and near the kids area they have chairs for parents and chargers. Great experience that makes me want to utilize the airport more in the future

What a great midsize airport in the middle of a residential neighborhood. My only criticism is the lack of signage outside the terminal buildings.
I was bringing an elderly person with mobility issues and wasn't sure which building or door to go in. I unloaded her and her belongings at the curb where there was an empty bench for her to sit while I went to the parking garage. No ticket - automated and there was a clean restroom in the parking garage. After our long drive much appreciated but was a little concerned about safety - probably cameras...
When I went back to the drop off area was told by my relative her airline counter was right inside the door. Super convenient. Everyone working at the airport was pleasant and made the experience good. Her gate was under construction and no counter or door or windows not sure why that gate was still assigned. The airport is attractive and easy to maneuver
was an old Air Force base. Happy to avoid the other major airports and will use this one again. The parking garage was expensive (to me) at $20 a day. Adequate signage of arrivals and departures.

Nice clean, secure, safe airport! The perfect size! I prefer this airport over the large main Orlando Airport 100%. The restrooms are very clean (which is always important to me)! They have cute little shops to browse through or purchase souvenirs, snacks, drinks, etc. The restaurants are nice and the food is pretty good. All of the staff that I have come in contact with have been very helpful, kind, and pleasant to be around. They have very helpful and thorough security so you can feel safe during your time there. I would recommend this airport without any reluctance. I will definitely fly into and out of Orlando Sanford again!

Very nice. Small, clean airport. The last couple times I've been out here to pick up a flight coming in from Appleton has been delayed both times. The cell phone lot is kind of tricky to find. It's in green signs and you have to do a u-turn. It's just a plain parking lot. No facilities. But the airport is nice.

This small airport is so much easier to travel in and out of when compared to Orlando. Plus, very little traffic to fight to get to/from the airport. There's a convenient cell phone waiting lot, too. Even the airport traffic cops are friendlier! Two thumbs up!👍👍

It was a very pleasant experience flying with Allegiant Airlines to New York. I am recalling trips I made nearly a decade ago but the impression this airport left on me is still the same.
Much smaller crowds given the size of the airport, some good stores and restaurants.

Please know you will have to do a blind back to get into the doc. I didn't get his name however if you ask they are willing to help you back into the doc.
You will have to swing wide right then cut left to get out and miss the left side of their gate.
They have a great staff and they load very fast. 🤓

Small and stressless facility that supplements the larger, more hectic Orlando airport. Note that this is NOT in Orlando, but in a nearby town called Sanford. There are limited services here. There are few food options. Ample parking and no traffic, however. Minus one star for lack of masks from the majority of the people I observed. All workers had them, but didn't seem interested in enforcing the still standing regulations.
