Usual good service with polite staff.
Booked through Holiday Extras and the whole experience was first class. From booking, parking and collecting to drive home, the process ran smoothly.
Upon ringing for our car to be delivered, was told by th opertaor the manager would ring us back, which he did but then told us the bad news our car was undriveable due to a suspension collapsing on the drivers side, okay far enough even though it was fine driving up from yarmouth about 2hrs drive, was told that the duty manager would pick me up and take me to the compound (ie a field not even a portacabin, just one company unconnected with thsi "outfit", ) to show the damage, but was ASTONISHED when told ( although he had alarge estate car he was not able to take my children 7 and 9 plus my wife with me plus 4 suitcases ???
even though we paid for the car to be taken to stanstead the least he could have done was to take my family with me unbeliveable will not use this i will use this " outfit " again and i hope this will discourage people using this "outfit" as i cannot called them a company cannot believe their left 2 children and their mum alone at stanstead there were all very upset........................................anyway relunctantly went with their duty "manager" to check the my car and it was the suspension. i drove this out of the compound/field and parked at the nearest layby and then phone for a recovery service lucky enough i had that cover, although
Was told all passengers must be with the vehicle so i duly phoned my wife to get a taxi to the b road that was about 7 miles away from stanstead airport, postcode given to the taxi firm was not showing on sat nav ??? at this point the the recovery chap found me using the postcode and he came from clacton.
fearing the taxi would not find us the recovery chap said he would meet the taxi in dunmow at a tesco, which we did. The car is in my local garage getting fixed i have not checked the mileage but will get back to you with this but i am very suspcious that my car was used or that it was damaged in their field, the car was on partly laid concrete car park when i collected it.
Mileage has over 50 miles unaccounted for, sent email to "gatwick Secure parkign site that handles the operators of parkign companies and said they would get back to me, got the usually fob off but no mention of the extra "MILES" so sent another e mail with a reply that basically said that i was lying, charning but added that the compound was over 10 miles plus 3 miles to navigate the one way system at stanstead ?? so the 7 miles i was told by the duty manager has now gone up double ? yeah right anyone who uses this "outfit" that also trades as 3 other companies use at your cost, i did but never ever again
had i parked the car at an aiport park then the recovery truck coudl have picked all the family up at the same time, this outfit./company lacked any common sense and complet disregard to their customers
so please anyone who uses meet and greet at stansteda stay away from ALPHA MEET AND GREET
