My Mom was taking a flight today. She is a spry 88 years old but is very hard of hearing and walks with a walker. After checking her bag, we rounded the corner to have 3 very friendly TSA agents waiting. Mom wears a hearing impaired sign. The agent saw it and immediately found the agent who uses sign language. Mom's hearing loss was late in life so she doesn't know sign language. Even though that was the case, he offered to assist her through the security process. Another staff member followed her up the plane ramp making sure that she made it safe and sound. It was such a good feeling that they cared for my Mom as if she were their own !!!!! Thank you so much for being so thoughtful and kind !!

I have not had any flights out of Barkley Regional, but I use Hertz Car Rental all the time there. I recommend Hertz for your vehicle rental. Great people, vehicles are always clean and ready to go! Hassle free 👍

Small regional airport that's easy enough to navigate. This new build even has jet bridges now.

I'd much rather fly out of Barkley than Nashville. Wayyyy shorter lines and so convenient since I live less than fifteen minutes away.

Sadly I will probably have to do cape airport. I never ever go east. But, Barkley is a great airport. I hate the drive to Nashville to fly.

Wonderful little airport. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. Nice waiting area, very modern looking. Will now be my choice when traveling to Southern Illinois.

When my family lived in Metropolis, I frequently flew to Los Angeles and back via Barkley Regional airport while attending Brentwood School. Barkley held a special place in my heart; it was my personal gateway to the West, and just seeing it made me feel like I was closer to the West Coast than I actually was. Barkley is a small airport with an international airport feel: the remodeling gives it an ambiance almost akin to larger hubs like Lambert or CVG. Of all the regional airports I visited, Barkley stands out as my favorite. My experiences there are filled with nothing but fond memories. Whether I'm going or coming, it feels like I'm home when I'm here.

Update: The nice folks at the airport contacted me with some potential solutions to the late night parking payment machine failures. Very helpful and accommodating to alleviate the concerns. Even with the occasional headache it's a much easier experience than the 2 hour trip each way to Nashville. Thank you Barkley Regional!

Original: Routinely have issues with the parking lot payment machine. No biggy right? Just get the whole line of exiting cars to let you backup, circle around, park, go back inside to use the backup machine to pay for the pass to get out of the lot. Nope, it's down too. And another late night watching all of us try every credit card we have to get out of the KPAH corral. If it's not going to work (seems like 3 weeks in a row but who is counting) let's just set up a coffee can and the honor system. License plate billing? Something more reliable than the unattended machines in place. If we can't operate a parking gate and the backup inside payment machine how are we going to care for a whole new terminal??

The new Barkley Regional Airport is great, but not perfect.

The good: The building looks great, inside and out. There is plenty of seating before security along with clean and spacious restrooms. All employees I encountered were great. Beyond security there is 3x more seating than in the planes providing service. It seemed like every seat had a charger adjacent to it. There were even some seats with a desk area that could be swung in front of you. More clean and spacious restrooms. They even have an indoor room for pet relief. The Wi-Fi is the fastest I have ever used that was free. The waiting area at the gates is the nicest and most comfortable I have encountered at any airport.

Honestly, I can only find two flaws.

1.) The selection of food/drinks is what you would expect to find in a court house. Simple vending machines with a limited selection.

2.) The scanner for the bags at TSA is new and supposedly renders great images according to those that work there, but it literally takes 30+ seconds for each bag to get scanned.

These aren't deal breakers, but certainly annoying.

This airport is so nice, it is a shame that only one airline services Paducah, otherwise more could enjoy this facility.

Only giving 4 because we had an unfortunate circumstance with the plane having mechanical diff which caused 5hr delay and my daughter would miss all her connections. Kudos to Kennedy who was SO helpful to help us arrange a flight out of Evansville IN which got her home in Rochester only an hour later than planned! We were so appreciative of her diligence! Wouldn’t have rec’d that help at larger airports!!

8.1.23 Brand new facilities, a few bugs to work out, but definitely for the better in local air travel...

Excellent small facility with nominal flights and traveler's ease! If you're patient and have time...😉

Our Daughter was flying out of the Barkley airport today with her four small children. Everyone was so gracious and helpful. The ticket Lady made the kids feel special and the head of the local TSA also helped getting them all through security. We could not be more thankful for everyone’s help today.

My family and I have flown out of this airport several times and have always had great experiences. It is much more convenient than driving to nashville. TSA wait time is the shortest you’ll see in an airport and the staff are all very accommodating and friendly. Would never hesitate to recommend.
